Fantastic photos Nick and good to hear your commentary about what you used to achieve them. Thank you
Many thanks!
So, so good. Brilliant.
Nick, I find your videos and your work, inspiring, helpful, and enjoyable. Thank you.
Glad you like them!
Hi Nick, it is a great pleasure to watch your videos. And, I do agree with you, it is real pleasure to shoot with the M.
Tear droping photos just damn mind blowing detail and clarity...superb...!!...
wow, thanks for the most precise wording on the differences between rangefinder and visoflex. also thanks for the pictures and the inspiration.
Hi Juergen, my pleasure!
The street light installation is in front of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in what we call the Mid-Wilshire area of L.A.
Great video, LCA! Great photos, Nick!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely great shots with the M10P and Leica glass. I myself still own a lot of M lenses but no digital M but after seeing this video I am thinking of getting back into M photography for my own personal fun again :-)
Hi Peter, good choice!
Clear explanations and lovely pics. Thank you💁🏼
Brilliant work and video Nick, well done!
Many thanks!
Outstanding video and astounding images. Great work 👍
Glad you enjoyed it

Great videos and nice pictures! Love the sharing of different lenses!
Thanks so much!
Your panorama looks brilliant. Nice one pal!
Great video! This is my dream camera, ever since I got to use one for a brief moment in the Leica Store in London last year I can't get it out of my head, it's really something special. Someday! :)
Go for it!
Great video and beautiful pictures
Thank you very much!
Wonderful images
Wonderful stuff .
Many Thanks
Hi. Well done and interesting videos. Small correction (at 12:39 of your video): Butchart Gardens is near Victoria, Vancouver Island, in Canada. Not too fr from Seattle, but in a different country. Jean-Michel
Thanks for the info!
Nice pictures and video - I will try the 18 m elmar on my m 10 P - have never considered any wider than 28 - thanks for this very interesting video
Hi Roberto. I love super wides, makes the images look as though you are right in amongst it. As Robert Capa said "If your pictures are not good enough, you are not close enough".
Great pic´s, great camera, thank´s a lot for this presentation. Greetings from germany, black forest. next year, a q2 would be mine.
Uwe Zimmermann
Hi Uwe, you will not regret it!
It was great to see landscape photography with the Leica M10-P, as the 3.8/18 is not very popular during recessions. Especially as the SL2 with lenses is very heavy and I prefer more compact sizes, because I don't want to carry a backpack with the lenses all the time.
Agreed. The SL lenses are heavy, but the M lenses not so much. The 18mm on the SL and now the SL2 is sweet.
Great series of videos Nick! Any chance of a video on the film rangefinders like the MP or M-A? Quite a few digital M shooters I know either have a film M or would love to get one!
Hi Kwok. I'll add it to the list. Thanks.
Very nice video. I agree that rangefinder focussing is very fast.
It really is!
Sir I wanna see 🧐Nepal’s beautiful, and Amazing peace place from your lerica 📸 camera - Lerica lover here ✋🏼
“Look for the images you can shoot.” Love it. Great advice. Another great video, Nick.
Thanks!
Would be great to see a video comparing the M10-P and SL2 - in particular when and why you use one vs the other. Some of us (mere mortals) can only afford one new digital so any advice you can offer would be most welcome!
Great idea! I'll make a note for my list.
@@LeicaCameraAustralia Until you make that video, could you share what features the SL2 has that makes it your choice for "serious" work?
Easy - autofocus, video, weatherproof, world's best EVF, long lenses, etc etc. I love the M cameras, but the SL2 is the correct working tool for me.
Before I spent 20K on a non-weatherproof M camera and lens, I would spend 1K on some psychotherapy sessions. I might still buy the camera, but you want to be sure!
Pretty good shots especially with the 18 mm. My M240 combo includes 21, 50 and 75 plus the EVF. Maybe the 75 will leave in exchange for a 90.
Hi Paul. IMO the 75mm is too 'close' to the 50mm. The 90mm sounds like a good move. Or pull the 50mm back to a 35mm and you have a good sequence - 21/35/75. But I do love my 18mm!
@@LeicaCameraAustralia Never ever saying goodbye to my 50 mm, it's press photographers the best lens.
Lovely images Nick! Just wondering for the landscape photos, are you focusing by using hyperfocal distance or focusing to infinity? I currently own the SL2 but really miss the M10! Thanks for sharing and hope to see more videos from you!
Hi Nalla. On the 18mm it's sort of a hyperfocal distance thing - but I'm only guessing the distance. I just pull back the focus from infinity a tad and that seems to work pretty well. You learn by experience what lenses can do.
Thanks for the tip! Looking forward to more videos!

Henri Cartier Bresson Greetings from France
did the video filter got applied to the pictures as well? The black & white photos are warmer lol
I do add a slight sepia tint to a lot of my B+W images. Just a preference.
beatiful pictures, did you use a ND filter with the Noctilux?
Hi Dougles. When necessary yes, but only in the brightest light.
How do you find the screen quality in live view mode? I'm currently shooting on an m240 but the live view isn't great if viewing from a slight angle. It's the screen on the m10 much better? Just wondering if it's on parr with the SL screen
Yes, M10P (and M11) much better than M240.
did I get that correctly ... you took the panorama shot of Time Square by hand? How is it that all the people in the foreground do not appear blurred in 6 individual images, although they are moving?
Yes, no tripods were possible in that situation. Hand held with an 18mm lens. No-one was really moving, but you can use the anti-ghosting function in Lightroom to moderate double images.
What do you enjoy more a Leica Q or your M? thanks
Impossible to say, very different design paradigms. But I actually prefer my SL2 over both! That's my go-to camera.
To prevent accidental scratches on your lenses do you routinely cover your lenses with clear, UV filters? Are UV filters a detriment to the technical quality of your photos? Is that a "given"? Do you use a filter for your cloud shots?
Decent quality UV protector filters are a good idea and you should not see any reduction in quality. If you are shooting at light make sure you take them off because you can sometimes get slight double images of any bright lights e.g. in a city skyline shot. And take them off if you are using other filters like a polariser or a ND filter.
@@LeicaCameraAustralia , thanks very much for your response. I think it would be interesting to see a video on the visual effects offered by the different filters available.
There are some videos on filter use on this Leica Camera Australia Channel. In the Tech Advice playlist.
Would have been great to include portraits. I see one landscape shot and I’ve seen them all. They’re not particularly interesting.
