Seeing these comments that are years old makes me feel sad because I wish I discovered what homestuck was earlier when the fandom was more active. Hearing this song feels so melancholy but upbeat at the same time and I love it! I'm so glad that I discovered this song because it's what introduced me to the great webcomic, and I love the fact that this music was meant for John (one of my most favorite characters) and it just sounds so fitting. God, do I love this soundtrack.
Edit: It's been over a year since i made this comment and i kinda forgot I made this, but I feel immense joy seeing these replies and the fact that Homestuck is still making new content is amazing to me. It's kinda funny how ironic my comment is now that it's starting to age just like other comments made over 6 years ago, I wonder if someone will see this comment in the next 6 years or so and think the same thing?

aww its so nice to see theres still people joining this fandom. ive been in it for 6 years and it makes me sad to see its not as active as it used to be, after the super long hiatuses when social media would explode whenever there was a new update, and everywhere you look theres something homestck related, all the theories and fics, amazing art- well its not like its gone. now its just kind of sad 8( we gotta resurrect homestuck !!

rapture: a feeling of intense pleasure or joy. (for those of you who are wondering)
I always assumed Rapture was meant more in the biblical sense, the end of everyone and everything.
In my eyes, Pale Rapture is like a solemn goodbye to the Beta Universe and knowing that, while everything has ended and everyone they knew and didn't bring with them is most likely dead and gone, a new universe awaits them. Its a solemn end punctuated by a glimmer of hope
Mental image::
0:02: John, his friends, and the guardians are together. Sburb never happened, Bec is normal, and everything is okay.
1:30: One by one, John's friends fade out in front of him until he's alone.
2:10: The scenery goes black and he's stranded in a void. It steadily zooms out on him until he's nothing but a speck. The blackness segues right into Rose's Grimdark outfit.
2:38: Rose and Bec Noir clash. They're strifing. John's God Tier, temp!dead, and he was dreaming. Whoops.

I haven't read the Epilogues yet beyond the Prologue, but this comment inspires me to see if I can see whether this song would fit it.
@fluffleSings I feel like the pale refers to a moirallegiance, which lends itself to a kind of conflict of having to control your more aggressive partner

The Living Tombstone’s “I Wanna Be A Machine” for Beat Saber brought me right back to this track. That bassline-dominated section with the trap drums in its final half-minute made me instantly remember a Homestuck song sounding the same way.
I didn’t yet remember the name but I could remember Volume 9/Colours and Mayhem era, then I was like yeah Colours and Mayhem… Universe B just from the color association of white instead of black

its really sad seeing homestuck being treated poorly by the people who own it right now as if it aint much of a big deal... this stupid webcomic changed dozens of lives out there (some even for the better) and seeing it like this is just sad..

ill always associate this theme with minecraft, i recently got a pc for the first time in years and have been building like crazy on it; just doing what feels fun, but the entire time ive been playing with a homestuck audio pack (land of mines and melodies) and this is one of the tracks that play in the overworld
i cant help but just think about the bunches of hives ive been building and decorating and the amount of fun ive been having in this fandom and how ill look back on it all years in the future, homestuck may have "ended", but from now on it will go on and on and on and on and on :o)

Pale Rapture. What does that mean? Probably nothing, but time to overanalyze because this song is messing me up.
As one of the top comments mentioned, rapture means a feeling of intense joy or pleasure. Pale could relate to troll quadrants, particularly the platonic ones, but I'm more inclined to think it's not. Pale can mean that something is feeble or unimpressive, apparently. So a pale rapture would be a feeling of intense joy that is feeble in some way? Not sure what to make of that, or how to relate it to John. Maybe the quadrant explanation is more prudent. It could relate to his relationships in some way. The song name can also just be an expression of it's contents. Maybe listening to the song is supposed to feel like a pale rapture. That does weirdly sound like a good way to describe the feelings this song gives me.

Apparently "Pale Ruptures" are a thing in Disco Elysium. Does this change anything? Maybe not, but the developers are probably closeted Homestucks.

Well, Rapture means intense joy or happiness, while Pale can mean unimportant. Knowing these definitions, it sort of goes along with the picture that is shown here homestuck.bandcamp.com/track/pale-rapture. John's God tier clothes are a bright and beautiful array of the sky and clouds, but the expression of the face does not match. The environment he is in makes it look as if it was he was here: www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=008860. This is where he comes back after experimenting with his new found abilities of retconning, believing he could defeat LE, but came back to the aftermath of the death of most of his friends.
Don't know if this helps really clear up anything. Just my two cents.
