    good video. thanks. my symptoms were just a small front end vibration starting at about 55mph. It would disappear when 4wd was engaged. that's how I tracked it down to the propeller shaft and the cv joint. You made the removal and reassembly clear and easy to follow. thanks again.

    Thank you!! I was having grinding issues and this was the issue, this video was a super helpful guide to changing that out, thank you!

    Is it fine for the front driveshaft to have some spin play when you grab it and spin it, or should it be solid and not spin at all when you grab onto it?

    • @HitchinMitch
      @HitchinMitch  Před 2 lety

      There should be some play or lash in the drive-ins to the differential.

    So am I safe to remove my front drive shaft and drive it until the new cv joint comes in? I assumed it would leak fluid from the transfer case .

    • @HitchinMitch
      @HitchinMitch  Před 3 lety +1

      It shouldn't leak out if you were to remove it. Seeing as it bolts to the flange that actually goes into the transfer case.

    So I've been through five of these at the last 2 years I'm starting to think my drive shaft is crooked somehow

      @@jiwbink that didn't do the trick, it was Midwest rust I was dealing with, I had to heat it up with a torch and use an air hammer to bust it loose

    will that issue make the truck jump on take off and thump when coming to stop?

      @@HitchinMitch I don't have clicking sound just the whole drive train jumps up on take off and when coming to stop I thought it was the trans Mount so I just changed that for nothing earlier maybe I will remove the front drive shaft tomorrow morning and see if it still does that thumping and jumping on take off

    • @HitchinMitch
      @HitchinMitch  Před 3 lety

      @@GiorgosC-rp5ms I'd would remove it and see it changes the drive, however I hate to say this but when the bearings in my rear diff were going bad it was very similar to what you were describing. Specifically one the braking.

    i dont know why ford went to the european joint design , a double u joint shaft with a slip joint is way better design, europe can keep their shitty designs , think round abouts too!!!
