    Gentlemen, well done! Excellent tutorial for sunroof seal replacement. There is always a learning curve when doing something for the first time, sometimes big, sometimes small. I bet you guys could do this the next time in 1/4 the time, 1/2 time if alone. Bravo Zulu!

    You the real MVP. I went so long dealing with the rattle and finally swapped my strip by myself in 20 minutes. 2014 GS350 Thanks dog!

    Folks, just lift out the panel and do the bead swap on your kitchen table. You should also clean the opening of the roof to prevent fouling of your brand new seal. I'm planning to do mine as well as it's made air leaking sounds above 40 mph since the day I test drove it.

    Thank you very much for sharing the knowledge here. I have a 2013 GS-350 and the wind noise is very irritating. I didn't know where it comes from. I was thinking if the seal is loose or worn out, rain water would get inside the car but I have never found any water coming in from the moon roof. So, I assume if water can't come in why would I have leaks for wind noise to come in?? Anyway, I would follow what you said here to find out the reasons before I attempt to replace it. Great video, thanks buddies.

      Yep no need to remove the whole glass. Less problems when lining up.

      Removed all four bolts in my ES. Took out the whole glass. I pressed up on the glass from the inside when re tightening glass lined up perfectly. It’s really not that hard.

      Check the two drain holes on the front corners...if they become clogged with debt the roof gutters will fill up with water and overflow. The sunroof gasket does not make it waterproof, just water-resistant. Your strip may also need replacement if it is letting a whole lot of water in.

    my gs' can drip some water from the seal, im not sure if this is normal cause i read it lets some water in and then the drains direct the water out of the car. have you had any water drip with your old seal? and how long did your seal last im approaching about 65k miles

    • @6MTLIFE
      @6MTLIFE  Před 2 lety +1

      No water should be dripping anywhere in the car if I read your comment correctly. I changed mines around 55k due to wind noise. Gone since this video and no problems since.

      @@6MTLIFE alright then my seal must be broken and ill need to get another one cause its certainly dripping some water, i was thinking there was a drainage system in the car but i guess not

      @@taco_yunior I have the same issue. On the rear part of the seal I have a slit/hole which is why I have water coming in from heavy rain or car washes.. there is a drainage in the sunroof rails but water shouldn’t be getting the seal so I would replace the seal !
