Fixed my rattling noise problem. This should also work be similar to other generations and neighboring models. Dont forget to like, comment, and subscribe.
Guys I fixed mine in 10 minutes. It’s just the two screws on the sides. Pop it up and use an Allen wrench to tighten it in after pushing the roof up into place. put the covers back on the sides, done! You don’t have to replace the seal. The reason it worked for this guy is because he tightened the screws up afterwards. If there was something wrong with the seals there would be leaking. But there’s no leaking it’s just noise. I guarantee you the sunroof screws have loosened up.
I didn't have any leaks and mine were tighten down too but still rattled. But appreciate the input in helping the owners before they go out and make a purchase 🙌🙌

Thank you so much for the video , I had this problem too. the sunroof was loose and it would thud every little bump ( I live in Cali so most of these roads are very imperfect) the gasket shrinks and that’s what causes it to be loose. And I know this a common problem with almost every Lexus around this year. Little tip for anyone trying to diy it. Buy silicone lubricant. It will make your job easier.
shit is crazy my wife’s car is 2014 3rd gen i guess it drove me crazy for 3 years lol , trough out the years i removed all the panels and thighten all the exposed bolts nothing …. came across you video took me 15 min to finish clunk gone jeezusss. thanks bro
Brilliant video. Just got an ISF and is is really loose and rattling. The rubber is actually starting to crack etc. This looks a pretty easy job and certainly do not need to go to the dealer. Thank you 😀👍
funny thing this year was pretty warm so Iws opening the moon roof then closing it when I would get home from work. it cooled off at night so I was driving home from work I closed the moon roof notuiced a rattle while going over bumps which was always ther a little but this was pretty nosey I pushed up on the one front corner and the moonroof moved , this morning I dug out my tools found the torx and was lucky becasue the screw was just a little lose ,this video helped me at the very least from having t orun back and forth up flights of stairs trying t ofind the right sized bit instead opf carryiong the tool box all the watty down then back up so TY :)
Great video, I was looking for it to adjust the tilt mechanism of my Camry 2007-2011 as its tilt mechanism is not working right, after tilting it up and trying to close it, it pops back up again. The only way to keep it closed is to do it in small increments manually. I was unsure how to fix it without removing the entire roof trim. I will try to remove the glass and lubricate the mechanism and readjust the sunroof and hopefully it will be done. Will definitely make a video of it. Thanks again.
just got a used is250 and the moonroof wont retract fully, but when u were installing it and mentioned lifting it up a bit before tightening the screws that may be whats the issue

It was an oem part and I ordered it off ebay. Dealer was out of stock and would have had to pre-order so I just searched up part number on ebay and bought it.
If sun roof is popping back out that means your alignment is off. You don't want to push the sunroof up too much, you just need enough to seal the top. Try lowering the sunroof a tad bit and it should stop popping out.

Hi, i V am looking for exactly thing ( gasket) for a Lexus rx400h 2007! I searched all over but no luck! Dealer says it will have to be a new glass! Can’t buy it separately! Can you put me in the right direction please ?
Good video. I don't have a rattle, it sounds almost like a bird chirping. It sounds like hard plastic shaking and rubbing against something. Could it be the slider tray? If it is, how can that be removed? I'd be grateful for any tips from anyone.
I see the door panel foam on the drivers door handle is falling off. Mine did that too. I filled mine in with a black sharpie temporarily, but it does not last. Must be a way to fix that.
Upholster the door panels or replace. Literally your only options. If still under recall, get it replaced asap. Call closest lexus dealership to find out.
@@ImGairBair I've had my IS250 at the dealer for recall work a few times over the last 10 years. They've never mentioned it. I had the airbag recall thing, plus a new dash and navigation system. There have been several, but none have been about the door panels. I'm checking all the recall sites now.

Might have to look into your seal getting stuck, might why it won't close all the way.

dawg u mightve just helped me with an issue
just got a used is250 and the moonroof wont retract fully, but when u were installing it and mentioned lifting it up a bit before tightening the screws that may be whats the issue
cause fully closed it sits how it was before you pushed it up and i get the notification the moonroof is open

I'm not too sure about the procedure on a 2012 camry but if the parts look similar then I would say so. Pretty straight forward fix.

It was an oem part and I ordered it off ebay. Dealer was out of stock and would have had to pre-order so I just searched up part number on ebay and bought it.
Bro if sunroof pops back out what could possibly be wrong ,the weatherstrip isn't correctly sit ?
If sun roof is popping back out that means your alignment is off. You don't want to push the sunroof up too much, you just need enough to seal the top. Try lowering the sunroof a tad bit and it should stop popping out.

I would try process of elimination to try and replicate the noise manually to see what is or isn't making the noise

The seal has been great since the install. I don't have the link anymore but I'm sure if you put up the part number it'll pop up.

This used to be under recall but I think it just ran out. Call your local Lexus dealership and ask

Got it off ebay and do not recommend because it isn't flushed like I thought it would be. But it works.

my 06 makes a sound I was driving and so I put sligjht presure on the sliding cover under the sun roof and the sound stopped :)

I'd check ebay. Just enter your year make and model on ebay and search up sunroof weather strip. It should pop up.
