  • Hazel Scott works her particular magic on Chopin's Minute Waltz. Suspect even Monsieur Chopin would be impressed! Experiencing troubles with connecting to this one? So am I, and I'm the poster! Still working on it; my apologies!

I do t think the world, at large, realized how incredibly and insanely talented this woman was. It’s heartbreaking.

I’m a piano teacher and I tell ALL my students about her. She deserves the recognition.

Sadly her talent was lost to history were it not for CZcams. We don't remember the piano styling of Nina Simone and Aretha Franklin either as we ought.

Um!!!! She wasn’t even looking at those keys she was slamming PERFECTLY with the left hand! The jumps! No looking! This is…I just can’t. I canNOT, Hazel Scott. I CANNOT. Handle this. 🤯🔥

What you see on video is not what you are hearing. I heard that due to recording technology limitations of the time, these artists would record the audio first and then dub it with camerawork afterwards. If you look closely, she is making tons of mistakes on camera in the bass like at 0:44.

Years and years ago I used to see her every Sunday morning. She was married to my Pastor, The Reverend Dr Adam Clayton Powell, Jr.

I love her. How can you not have a little crush on Hazel Scott? My favourite pianist by far.

I understand but I see female and male musicians and the music they create as equal i separate their music from attachments such as a crush

    • @herobrine1847

@@neetrab Yes, the video is literally fake. I heard it’s common practice for these people to pre-record the audio and then dub it on camera due to recording technology limitations of the time.
The part I timestamped, you hear her moving from Db to F, but you see her staying on Db. She also happens to look up and laugh right after that moment, probably because she knows she can get away with these slip ups without many viewers noticing.
