For a while now I've been dabbling with DMC 5 combos, specifically Vergil ones, and I wanted to properly understand the doppelganger mechanic, because I always felt it was profoundly convoluted and out of my domain. After analyzing certain advanced players and their combos, I finally came to understand how this previously enigmatic mechanic works. After successfully replicating 23 combos from an assortment of advanced players (and improvising here and there), I decided to share my newfound knowledge to help facilitate the process of learning this mechanic for whoever aspires to make doppelganger combos. The mechanic itself is actually pretty simple if you know what you're doing. The main endeavor is to properly explain the full extent of the doppelganger and how it works. The first half of this video pertains to Vergil's moves, weapons and other pivotal mechanics. The second half (or well 35 minutes lol) is an in-depth dissection of the doppelganger and the intricacies and subtleties surrounding it, analyzing certain setups, etc. Mind-bogglingly enough, there doesn't seem to be A SINGLE TUTORIAL OR GUIDE online explaining this behemoth of a mechanic (at least not adequately), so I took it upon myself to make one.
