DMC5 Vergil DLC Release Date
We mentioned this early on alongside our game announcement, but never gave you a firm date or price. Well, it’s time to change that.
Our dev team has been hard at work in getting DMC5SE ready to launch the same day as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, so Vergil will be arriving on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC just a few weeks after that, on December 15th, 2020 and will cost just US$4.99 / €4.99 / £3.99.
To keep you motivated, we’ll leave you with a quick reminder that Vergil will be fully playable on Story Missions, The Void, and Bloody Palace.
An Update on Ray tracing for Xbox Series X|S
We’re excited to bring Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition to Xbox Series X|S with high frame rates up to 120 fps, enhanced 3D audio, reduced loading times, the Legendary Dark Knight difficulty, Turbo Mode and playable Vergil on both consoles.

About the Trick Dodge mechanic, on lower concentration levels, there's a bit of a cooldown, however in higher levels, there won't be. The meter would also drop down if you use the trick dodge but not in any harms way.
I just downloaded him today, and Good god, I never knew how precise and accurate you have to execute his moves especially if you need concentration. And I love it! 😊

got the DLC this morning. it’s an absolute blast to chain Judgement Cuts and he feels like breath of fresh air, especially from consecutive hours of grinding Nero
Seriously. It’s like playing the game since release all over again.
I hate Nero's combat. It's supposed to be easier, but it just doesn't feel fluid to me.
Vergil is the goat, I remember wishing Dante could judgement cut on my first dmc 3 playthrough. Sickest move ever and that sound effect. Nut.

You don't need concentration for trick dodge, it's just if you fail the dodge or dodge nothing, you lose concentration. And that cooldown is only there when you fail to dodge, if you get a dodge you can spam trick dodge until you stop then you have to dodge again

he just came out on PC, i love him, but his consec just cuts are really hard lol
Edit: sadly I'm only consistent on using it in the air now after not playing for too long, but after sheathing i can use just cuts, i just can't do a normal melee and get them now xD
But their damage is so insane I can't wait to master it

Nice stuff! I think in addition to the muscle memory for releasing lock on for trick up(which is damn tough for me too) it has another perk since his royal guard/party thing requires you to also..

So Vergil is out on pc. Finally I can play him. First thing I did when I started was pop off one of those sick combos only to realize I don't have half of those moves unlocked, get shit on by enemies and end mission one with amazing D rank for style...

I just separated man from wallet and to my delight it was only $19.99 for the base game and $4.99 for Vergil.
I find Vergil to be the perfect balance of powers, speed, cool tricks and movesets compared to all the other playable characters. He's the one I instinctively knew how to fight with, even though I never practiced with his character before. Got those S+ ranks fast, which I managed before to obtain only with V. Dante has too many choices of weapons and styles in my opinion and it gets too confusing fast for my taste, and I don't like the robot arm mechanic of Nero in this game. Plus I like the fact that you can use that DT bar to your advantage and charge it. More POWER and FUN to the player. So, basically playing Vergil has been a truly great satisfying experience so far :)
Thanks for this, hadn't registered the trick dodges needed concentration. That explains why I got my arse kicked by some of the bosses trying to use this to dodge after they'd smacked me a few times.

Got Vergil on my Xbox One last night and I already have completed the first two difficulties as him🤣 he’s so broken but that’s why I love him
I only use the trick system because it looks fun to see Vergil go "BAMF!".
I asked around if Trick was as busted as in DMC4, many said it's kind of nerfed.
Went in the game, spammed Air Trick when enemies swing, 100% IFs. Still busted :)
Helps alot that DMC5's enemies are way easier than DMC4 (atleast for me).
Dmc 5 enemies are harder but have less Bs.

When you hold attack for the second time you'll see an animation where Vergil sheaths his yamato. It sparks during this time - meaning you let go then.

Kind of wish the trick down and trick dodge was easier to pull off like say I wish it was just a hit down with the analog stick or hitting left/right for the trick dodge.

i've got countless of hours on dmc4 Vergil and i always thought Vergils defensive options were a bit lacking. It is no longer an issue in dmc5 and i think it's a better version of trickster with a high risk high reward thing going on.

With Lock on - Back to forward - Trick input it's impossible to spam Trick Down combined with broken shit World of V ability that triggers almost every time

Stinger off a ledge
If you're referring to what I think you're referring to: do Rapid Slash with Yamato or Stinger with Mirage Edge near some edge. This will cancel the moves and send Vergil flying forward.
This can also be done with Dante's Stinger. I'm not sure if it works with Payline.

oddly enough i main virgil and yet i never use the last trick atall i get hit so much because i get stuck in animation on so many things i didnt know that that can do that out of nearly every single move he does would help massively in bloody palace since i get hit so often when i could have avoided it i've been kicking myself for silly mistakes like that for so long i gunna have to incorperate it into my style then

I just bought the game and I keep dying on devil hunter because I keep missing the trick down input, in dmc3 you only needed to press down, now you need to press down to forward and my muscle memory is killing me lol.

man this trickdown on keyboard middle fights is so hard to do right if i do it wrong i simply get in the face of enemy because it counts as an air trick and die rather than dodging :)

Do you have any more tips for playing Nero? Idk he just DOES NOT flow with me. His attacks, the gauntlet system, and DEFINITELY exceed just make him kind of ish to play with. Especially after Vergil came out. Basically any other character I can do well with, but Nero just... I can't find the flow.
Hes got so much going on i just want to veat dmd with gim get his super costume and do the bloody palace so i csn finally finish this platinum. Ive already spent 80 hours gettinf everythibg else done im ready to move on. Omg the lock on drove me buts on hell and hell especially but through the whole game.
It is similar to Dante’s Trickster style
Control on keyboard is broken af lol. if camera suddenly changes its direction between pressing back>forward. Game would count it as full rotate. Sometimes I just want to trickdown/trickback. Vergil will does world of V instead. Combine with sh*tty lock on system. It become even more frustrated.
Man pressing back to forward or forward to back on PC takes some times to get used to.

Complete newbie to the DMC universe here - the game is pretty fun, but i feel like im having a hard time getting better, i played tons of these "types" of games, darksiders etc - but the lockon/movement system in this game really trips me up.. Especially when fighting multiple enemies, like.. i often find myself failing miserably because somehow when locking on, the monster isnt always in FRONT of me anymore, which changes all these back+forward B inputs to... Right-left B/ Left-right B depending on which side i am... Same with the L/R+A input to do regular side dodges, it really f**ks with my brain when its Up/Down+A if im on the SIDE of an enemy... Any tips?
I’d start with the training mode where it’s just you and one enemy. There’s no quick fix, you’ll have to put some time in to practicing if you want to get accustomed to the control scheme and how lock on works. Take the time to practice the inputs from different angles. When eventually facing multiple enemies, the aim is to take them down one at a time whilst being aware of what the other enemies are doing so you can dodge:/reposition yourself if needed.

my problem with trick down is that i keep getting world of V instead of trick down due to how my camera is, if im not perfectly looking at vergil from behind then the game sometimes assumes im doing left to right and gives me world of V ... Honestly I wish I could turn off that move.
Im so used to turbo mode vergil because of dmc4 now im having a hard time adjusting my judgement cut timings on ps4 without turbo. Idk why they didn't just include it.

For some reason I have problems with all "(back+forward) + imput" combos. I just cant get the timing right, or the enemy position, which make it realy unreliable. Devs should've just made it back + trick.
