This sounds so cool, can’t wait for this software to be made more user friendly…
Couple of weeks ago, Ange did say he had plans to lean into the game-aspect of the sim, and wants to integrate the programming for the engine into the program's UI directly.
Granted, it was more an off-hand comment in the form of 'i'd like to', rather than an actual statement _(source: somwhere in the __1:25:19__ video collab with fillman86),_ but there's a decent change the program might end up going in that direction eventually.
@@Volvith Would be super cool to be able to mate these to transmissions and do drag races to compete with the engines themselves directly.
It's for smart people which you clearly are not, the world does not revolve around making things easier for dumb people
Same!!!!!! Just enter the desired numbers and boom!
It already is?
You can literally see the cam lobes change size that’s actually really cool
There is a dude actually planning this for real
who?
He’s making it out of two K24s
ONE CANNOT SAY THIS WITHOUT A FRICKING SOURCE CMONNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
@@azi9_ity Look up Craig Williams K48
@@pedropablomirandaguzman9342 Craig Williams
Look into Neutron Engines and their K48 project. the entire k48 will have less rotating mass than a built k20z3. It's going to be an insane engine.
Now the big question here is... can I fit this in my civic?
an Accord Coupé would be wonderful with one of this
Yes but you'll get tons of understeer
Look up Neutron Engines. You'll find out if it can
Someone even made 5.0 V12 on a Miata, i think it can fit
@@KitKitChanIsaac As if fwd cars already don't have massive understeer as is
Honda should produce one of these. This is a very interesting concept for a Honda V8.
Neutron Engines, check it out. Someone's actually doing it
You could also make a 1.6L V8 by fusing two 800cc V4 engives from the VFR800i/f bike
or a W8 like the 2001 passat
Now I'm here imagining the pure madness of two Honda NR750 engines mated together...a 1.5L V8 with oval pistons, 16 connecting rods (2 for each piston)...and 64 valves.
@@Roddy_Zeh Insanity lol
@@ZillaDaKilla195 Yep! But it surely would be pretty epic to see such thing running...
And I believe they probably could get over 250 hp from this engine too!
Firing order is scuffed, pretty sure this is running big bang.
What's big bang
@@cosmic_gate476 Means more than 1 cylinder is firing at exactly the same time, or close enough together that it counts.
@@Drunken_Hamster Oh yeah lol it did sound like the 2 4 cylinders were just glued together and fired similarly
@@cosmic_gate476 at 1000rpm it sounded like my v2 yamaha virago
@@erneststyczen7071 how many CC is that bike?
The sound (quite oddly) reminds me of the BMW V8’s used in E9X M3’s.. (VTEC excluded, of course) I know these engines very well, and their sound is very distinct. This engine sounds very close, which I find quite surprising.
The power and torque level is also quite similar to the S65 engine as well.
That one had VANOS ig
0:25 WHEN V8 VTEC KICKED IN YO!!!!!
The timing, or firing order needs a bit of tweaking. This does need to be made though. It's not hard to do, just take 2 I4 VTEK engines, cut them at the center at a 60 or 90 angle to for m a V shape to get the bottom centered, make new parts but keep the original pistons, Cut both ends of the engine and make covers to hold both blocks together along with a top center plate, add cross members on the bottom and when complete you'll have a V8TEK engine.
look up nuetron engines k48
"It's not hard to do" think again
It's not really that easy. You need a custom block, crankshaft, intake, ECU, etc etc. It's feasible but not in the way you described
You make one since it's so easy
Make custom block, crank for starters. Than you can use stock rods, pistons and heads. You need an oil pump that can supply enough oil for 2 heads. You need custom timing belt setup so it will work in V format. The easy part will be making intake 3xhaust and stand alone ecu to make it run.
I swear if you want easy dual vtek power just swap a second FWD front into the back of a civic. Possible with a grinder and welder.
I heard about someone making a V12 with 2 1JZ engines, that would be cool to see in the engine simulator
That's Toyota and it's called a 1GZ-FE.
@@deepakvasudevan1I don't want to sound like a nerd, but I think that Toyota fused two 1jz engines, which would explain the 5 liter displacement since 1jz has a shorter stroke than the 2j, therefore it has 2,5 liters of displacement
@@deepakvasudevan1no someone literally fused 2 1jz’s together to make a v12 look up don groff's 1jz v12
This is great. Would love to see an Aventador engine
finally a honda that sounds like it’s running on all cylinders lol. v8 for life
Now do what if toyota combined two 4age engines to make a v8
@Sam Sam ain't no 4uz dawg
@@user-cb1ln8vc8d Well, maybe this "4UZ" could be a later, 3.2L version
@@nthgth the 4UZ would sorta just be the 1UR.
Honda and Mugen have actually built V8 race engines that have similar designs to the K-series, the Formula Nippon V8s, Honda Indy V8s, and the Honda HSV-010 Super gt race car have such engines
Those are limited to only one cam profile though so no VTEC to help the lower end
Adds 4 more cylinders, still sounds like a lawn mower at low rpm lol
This would be sick if they made this tho
Ok that sounds awesome...now we just have to wait for the day honda makes a V8.
as someone who has a k20 ive been wanting to know what this would sound like for so long
Or, now hear me out, get two 2.7l V6s from an NSX, weld them together and have a V-TEC V12?
Edit: Classic NSX is 3.0-3.2 Liter not 2.7.
Yes
@Sam Sam So it was. Sorry.
Why would you go with the C series when the J series is better?
I'd say put 2 J37A5s together, end up with a 7.4L V12/W12, making around 610hp.
@@ThefireballVR Not a Massive Honda fan (in that I like hondas but don't know a lot about them when it comes to Engine codes and what not) so I just thought of the most popular Honda that had a V6.
When the Honda VTEC kicks in
looks like you're not firing on one cylinder. Which explains the weird sound at idle
I think it’s firing on all cylinders but one of the power strokes is at the same time as another piston. In the exhaust waveform there’s 7 pulses with the last one much larger
Sounds like a 2 stroke at idle
@@Deucecat5201 That would certainly make sense! I wonder how they put this together then, it looks like 90 degrees, but then it should sound more even? maybe that's because of the up down down up crankshaft.
edit: I'm terrible at visualizing things in my head. I can't seem to figure it out.
@@damiansmith5294 hmm now that I’m thinking about it more this should be firing as a flat plane v8. Maybe a firing order issue then
@@Deucecat5201 I have it opened, and it seems to be a cross plane. Would certainly explain the odd sounding firing order for a honda.
edit: The loud noise at idle is because cylinders 7 and 8 fire 90 degrees apart from eachother, instead of 270 or 180.
edit 2: nevermind, it's something else.
edit 3: I'm losing my marbles over here.
J series V6s. Take 2 J37A5s from the MDX, splice them together at the crank, make a J74 V-12.
GYALLY THAT VTEC HITS HARD
I am Neutronengines a mechanical engineer building a k48 engine. Please reach out. I want to talk to you!
My man. Hope you are well.
Thought of you when I saw this. Wanna k v8 swap my 99 Mazda truck one day. Keep up the hard work
0:53 V8 VTEC KICK IN!!!!
OK hear me out, what about using two NSX V6 engines to make a VTEC V12?
Honda/Acura made an engine similar to this in the LMP2 prototype from ALMS, the ARX-01, but it wasn’t a match for the Porsche RS Spyders
What we'd need for this to work:
- A custom 60/90° Engine Block That's Bored and Stroked to the same Cylinder Wall size as the K-series + Oil Pan to fit (all of it custom made)
- Conrods and Pistons can remain the same (grab 8 sets of Conrods and Pistons) but we'd need a Flatplane Crankshaft custom-made to fit the 8 Cylinder setup. The reason why Flatplane over Crossplane is because it will have more stability due to an even firing order, and will be more similar to the I-4 than the other. (Cylinders 6 and 7 will also wear down less from not having to fire twice in the same cycle)
- The Heads can remain the same 4-valve DOHC system with VVT-AC (AC = All Cams, as the bigger Lobes engage at ~5500RpM in most standard K-series engines)
- A new Single/Twin Intake Mechanical EFI System needs to be made for the V8.
- Ignition timing, Compression Ratios, AFR and RpM need to be tuned accordingly for 95/98 Octane or E85.
- New Long Tubular Exhausts with Catalytic Converters and mufflers need to be made.
- A Drivetrain capable of handling the new power needs to be made to mate with the engine.
Well if you haven't already heard, Neutron Engines, Craig Williams, is already hard at work making this happen, but with 2 K24's, so a K48.
@@TakeNoShift I wonder how he'll cut the blocks to fit. Same with the crankshaft.
Serious precision will be needed there...
@@Blurgamer17 You might want to just look the guy up, it would be a lot easier than me explaining everything but the basic gist of it is he's designing and developing this thing as it's own thing. The block, crank and other related parts are being done up and will be manufactured on their own. He isn't cutting up K24's and mashing parts together or anything like that.
Just look up Neutron Engines, he's been documenting most, if not the whole process of developing and designing this bad boy.
@@TakeNoShift so... exactly like how I described, albeit it seems like he's doing everything custom instead of utilizing some OEM parts.
@@Blurgamer17 Most of the OEM parts just won't work. If he had gone K40 I'm sure it would be a lot easier to utilize a lot more of the OEM K20 parts than he can from the K24. Either way it's going to be a very lightweight, high revving beast of a V8 once it's done, and in a hot V configuration so EGTs will be niiice and cool. Maybe in the future when it's in production and i have the funds it will be my first engine swap, I'd love that.
I have a rather unorthodox idea. Who remembers the 2.5L I5 from the Acura Vigor/2.5TL? Two of those combined to make a 5.0L V10 a la the pre-LP Gallardo.
G25? Would've been so sick if Honda put it in the S2000.
@@RamenPoweredShitFactory I believe that's the designation but I'm not sure. And yes, given DOHC and some more aggressive cam timing to make it rev higher, that could have been a really interesting choice had they put it in the S2000 (S2500?)
Or a twin turbo v10 from two volvo i5s
can you do vr5, vr6, w8 and w12 engines?
Yes
Look up Neutron Engines K48. It’s exactly what you think it is
Sounds like a video which Garage54 would do, just with 2 lada engines xD
Why does it go flump flump flump flump flump?
the firing order may need to be corrected is my best guess.
This would just be a flat plane crank V8. And VTEC is just honda's version of variable valve/cam timing. Many other companies and race teams have essentially made a k series v8 in the past. The complexity of it starts to outweigh the benefits gained when there are other ways to make more power in a V8. If you want a V8 that technical, you are literally getting into racing specs. That's why the only K series-like V8's to exist are for expensive high performance cars and specific racing classes
Flat plane V8s really do sound like two L4s glued together xD
I wonder what two 30L Fiat S76 Engines would be like in a 60L VR8 configuration @ 3.0K RPM
That's awesome, it sounds really cool. Is it a flat-plane or cross-plane?
There's a guy on insta making the K48 a reality
This engine would be good for my GMC Sierra.
This engine sounds like it doesn't want to exist hahaha
Even if you merged 2 K20 engines, you should change the cranks and give it a balanced firing sequence
After that vtec crossover, its sounds exactly what i would expect an ls7 c6 z06 to sound like, minus the extra 1000rpm at the end
Impressive power figures for a 4.0
Hello! How about an 90's classic V4 engine from an Honda VFR bike? Is that possible perhaps?
Kinda sounds like it's knocking. Gonna be hard to tell if you have rod knock when it happens 🤣
Can't wait for more updates on the guy working on this engine.
I was actually thinking about this but with a 4G63 😊
Big single turbo K20? Nah. Get ready for…
BIG TWIN TURBO DUAL K20
The V8 that was supposed to be in the 1st gen NSX and the RLX/Legend.
EPIC!!
Now put two of these together for a VTEC 8.0L V16! 🤩 Hell, even just a 4.0L VTEC I8 would be pretty cool too… 🤔😈
This engine under flatplane crankshaft and VTEC.... Would be awesome
it has vtec. did you not notice it?
Vtec is a thing in this simulation, single stage vtec that is, so it only engages at 5k rpm, and not at both 3k and 5k.
This would go on the new nsx perfectly ngl
I want to hear a V8 and I6 based on the F20c, I can't get this program to run on my dinosaur.
The legendary William Moser!!! I think your work inspired AngetheGreat's program, would love for some collab work between u two!

How about converting this VTEC V8 to a flatplane?

Do a Yamaha h2r v8 🙏. Would be 🍻 if there was a series of videos like this of "What if they made" theoretical engines 👊
yamaha made the r1. the h2r is a kawasaki.
@@nathanmahoney6346 my bad, thnx for the correction 🖖😎🍻
@@hasoevo no problemo
People wanting a v8 k series but im curious how inline 6 k series would be
Beautiful
It would be like the 4.6L with vtec. Sick.
It would be a flat-plane V8, though.
k24 v8 is already put on aftermaket
They need this motor in a lotus with a turbo guys
Now change the gear ratios to 4, 2.5, 1.67, 1.22, 0.93
Ok now.. was it designed with a single plane like most European V8s or a dual plane like most American domestic V8s? As it revs up it kinda sounds like a dual plane cranked v8 with an exhaust leak.
It will just sound exactly like the older Ferrari v8 which sounds exactly like two honda engines.
_stares at Neutron Engines_
That was sickkkk
Should be flat plane crank
AMAZING!!
The same Mercedes did with their 2l 4 banger outta the A45
Imagine putting one into an NSX
literally the honda pilot (2009 specifically) but a v6
Technically it already does exist, see the MUGEN V8
I need the f20 as a v8. Much better for N/A power and would probably sound like the lungs of god.
What should have gone in the NSX
That doesn't accelerate that fast compared to the engine, but damn, it never stops to accelerate
Sounds like a car from gran turismo 5 or 6 at high rpm
it sounds like if harley made sportbikes
what if it was done with a flatplane crank instead?
Dat VTEC
Why idle sounds like a chainsaw idle at like 0:14?!
Lovely❤️
Hopefully it will have a flat plane crank shaft
what processor do you have? My i5 cant run this for some reason it lags so badly.
I’m gonna build this in real life, using a flatplane crank.
flat plane crank?
Can someone make custom camshaft for ViTEC? 😕
Flat Plane Crank V8 Sound
sounds like rod knock to me 💀
That would be a flat plane V8
Would this beat a BMW S65 4liter engine?
Guys how about putting 4.0 V8 into NSX?
Why is it 245 ci?
K48 is a thing already bro lol
Kinda sounds like rod knock at idle!
