in malaysia or imalay language, barat means west. its probably come from the word bharat which is the name india use to describe the india as countries today. this make sense since india is located in western malay archipelago. another name we used is " benua keling " which means keling land. its origin come from old kalinga kingdom in southern india.

@Hare Krishna ohh what i want try to say it that the word keling refer to kingdom of kalinga but the term keling used by people from south east asia to refers to land in south india today. not just in area of kalinga kingdom. the term was used to refer all the kingdom that exist in south india. because in ancient time kingdom from south east asia only have trade and diplomatic with kingdom from south and not from north.

"Uttaram yat samudrasya, Himadreshchaiv dakshinam, varsham tad bharatam nama, Bharatee yatra santatihi"
This sanskrit verse from Vishnu Purana written 500 BC translates to, "From the Himalays in the north to the Indian Ocean in the South, is the land of Bharath (India), and people living in it are the desendants of Bharatha.

The word Hindu is actually older than the Achamenian empire. It is used in Vendidad, the Zoroastrian scripture, which mentions "Hapta-Hindu" (seven rivers) as one of the 16 lands that Ahura Mazda (God) created for Aryans. The word also has cognate in the Rigveda - "Sapta-Sindhu". This also connects the why Northern India is also called "Āryāvarta"- land of the Aryans. The name Iran also has a similar etymology.
    Other names for India include
Bhārata - land of king Bharata/Bharata clan.
    Jambudvīpa - Black plum island.
Nābhivarsha - Land of king Nābhi/ naval of the world.

The word INDIA is also an emotion. It's scientific, geographically correct and shows our Identity. Its originated from Sindhu(River) To Hindu, Hindustan To Indus to India...
While BHARAT associates our history and culture and it's in our blood. It feels our own and we are deeply connected with it.
BUt we have learnt that The word BHARAT came from the name of King Bharat Son of Dushyant and Shakuntala... So why a country should be known by the name of one person..? Some people will say the fact is wrong and it came from a Tribe name... But the thing remains same why the identity of a group of people represent the whole country..?
While India or Hindustan or Sindhu Sthal means the land beyond Indus or Indu or Sindhu River...
So if we think reasonably the name INDIA sounds More logical than BHARAT, but everyone should respects their history that's why BHARAT is prominent and special.
We can increase the use of word BHARAT but word INDIA must have its presence their.
    Proud To be a Bhartiya/ Hindustani/ Indian.

Keep up the good work? This is whats wrong with bharatiya's : we naively give thumbs up to most ignorant, biased and entitled westerners about their narrative of our culture. PreHimalayan civilization was jambu. latest was bhratvi( parampara)and bharata. Now we call it bharat. Whole western scholorship is still stuck at last great flood, they literally call subject of study a archyology. We have recorded history of 7 floods. Remember last 200 years they laughed at us because our scriptures said that sun is star and other planets circle around it. They even laughed at us that we believed in 9 planets. list can go on. All of their reference material are written by racist super biased colonisers in 18th century. Its fine to give thumbs up to laymen for trying but not any scholor whose reference material establishes western narrative of our existence. Its like archiving fox news as voice of black, women, native tribes and poor white people. Just ask him to find reference material about history of Indian(bharatiyas) in new land that became usa, he wont find any. East india company brought indian slaves to colonies in 1700 exact, we have written history of it. There are indian in california and woshington whose ancestors are in usa before irish and italians came to usa, but they will not recognise it.

Sanskrit and old persian is almost identical and during the Mahabharata times which was 7000 years ago, kings from parshwa or prersia and the kings of bharata which is india used to speak and communicate with each other without any prblms.
Indus and Persian civilisations are sister civilisation so it’s not so much the mughals or the islamic conquerors who named us sthan but the old persians because again stan and sthan are same in Sanskrit and persian!

@@AtlasPro1 Then you are my ideal youtuber. I mean am really inspired by your method. Unlike realLifeLore or some others your graphics are practical but still effective. The only thing you lack is 1. thumbnails 2. controversial or sought after topics (at least for now). I too have a decent youtube channel from another account (408K subs). It is somewhat religious but I am now experimenting with educational topics of general interest. Your channel has just inspired me unlike anything. I would love to see you grow. About 18 months ago I subscribed to reallifeLore. I knew he would hit it really big and he did. You have the tools and the talent, just find something that sells. At least till you grow a bit. I wish you do not lose focus and stay put. I made this mistake once and actually got discouraged by my family. But you have a really good chance with your kind of content. Please visit my main channel czcams.com/users/ranamuhammadatif I would love to keep in touch and share ideas with you in the future. ranamuhammadatif@gmail.com As for your video on India, it could get a tonne of views if it were dubbed in Hindi/Urdu and modded appropriately.

That's quite an impressive channel you've got! It's great to be noticed by someone with such a big following. RLL was one of my main inspirations, with others including Wendover, Real Engineering, and so on, so it's a lovely comparison to hear! But I must ask what is wrong with my thumbnails? I'm not a graphic designer or anything but I figure they're good enough, but I'd like to hear your input on them. I hope I don't let you down!

India is the given name by the colonisers, Bharatha or Bharatbarsh is the name which was the name from the beginning and maximum people of India also like to address it in that way. The word 'Bharatha' means, Bha-ra-tha in this 'Bha' refers to 'bhava', means sensasion then 'ra' indicates 'raga' means tune and 'tha' indicates 'tāla' means rhythm.
