Watch Dogs had so much promise as a franchise, Never underestimate Ubisoft's ability to screw things up
Watch dogs one and two were both good imo legion sucks
Still to this can't believe how badly they ruined watchdogs legion, watch dogs 2 no kidding is like one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played, one of the fewest games that I went back for a 2nd playthrough, the gameplay is just amazing, all the hacking abilities and freedom to approach each mission and messing with AI and etc... still can't believe Ubisoft took it's pants down took a huge dump on everything good and positive they made and had with WD2 and made extremely boring and soulless garbage which was WD legion
I loved the story of WD 1, loved the environment of WD 2. Legion… I’m struggling for a compliment. But I enjoyed the first 2 games
Ubisoft motto at this point is "overpromise and underdeliver"
Facts
Sleeping dogs is an absolutely amazing game. The combat is so slick and smooth. Epic fun. Sad that we'll likely never see a sequel or even a remake/remaster.
What if I told you they remastered it in 2014? It even runs at 60fps on Series X
It would actually be nice to have a sequel to continue addressing the main theme that was never truly answered. That question of allegiance and identity was left ambiguous, which was a smart decision. But I feel like a lot more could be explored with this.
@@dr.loomis4221It's not a Remaster. They just maxed out the settings and released it on newer consoles to give the PC experience on console. A bit like the PS5 release of GTA V: Better than nothing, but mainly for you to give them your money again.
Yes it is a remaster it says so
Sleeping Dogs is the third installment of True Crime games and it was remastered under Definitive Edition title.
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood has one of the best single player campaign in the FPS genre. Yes, it starts really slow, but after 3 out of 15 episodes it gets waaay better. Also it's one of the not so many great western themed games and it was released before RDR was a thing
Red dead ripoff😂
@@ijustbevibin0425Call of Juarez Bound in Blood came out in 2009 while Red Dead Redemption came out in 2010, and neither is a rip off they are very different games with very different gameplay mechanics
@@ijustbevibin0425 you will grow, eventually.. maybe..
@@cre4t1n buddy I’m growing everyday mentally just cause I say a game is bad doesn’t mean I don’t have self growth clown 🤡
Yes, it was really enjoyable! Even the "slower" parts were fun, made you feel part of the vast wilderness that was the old West... I liked the first game too, so for me CoJ is a franchise that has only 1 bad game instead of 1 good one :)
People don't talk enough how realistic and good the character movement in watch dogs 2 is.
Has the most janky movement I've played in a while. But it is realistic ig, music was incredible though
@@nathaniellee924 I meant the animations not GP wise.
WD2 was shit
Which is crazy considering modern day Ubi games have animations that look like somebody is manually moving the characters limbs with their hands
Motion tracking tech will do that.
Isn't too exciting these days
I honestly love the first watch dogs. How gritty the crime was, rainy chicago, an amazing soundtrack, the hacking, escaping the cops by messing with streetlights, bridges and speedbumps. The whole thing felt awesome to me.
Gameplay and plot were really fucking flat tho
Agreed. Everything you mentioned is why I always come back to playing it whenever I get the chance.
Yeah .I played watch dogs 2, that was not impressive compared to 1st.
1st have better storyline .
@@nikxon_musiczWatch Dogs 2 felt like a Saints Row game with all the doofy characters
Completely agree. Hate it when game series suddenly turn goofy.
They really need to bring Stuntman, Road Rash, and Burnout back!!!
Some of the most fun Ive ever had playing games.
Destruction Derby 64 would be amazing to bring back on Next Gen as well 🔥🔥
There is/was a spiritual successor to Burnout in the works, by some of the same devs as the original, called Dangerous Driving 2. Not sure what's going on with it now as it's been silent for a long while.
Road Rash is every 90s kid's childhood
I mean... We have Road Redemption.... Kinda road rash but not... Same gameplay but different... With kinda modern visuals,
Burnout 2 is still one of my favorite racing games
We need NFS to do like CoD and switch between Burnout and NFS games. Like merge them to one title and how Black Ops and MW have their own style.
The first Stuntman was one of my favorite games growing up. Very frustrating to learn the levels but I always enjoyed the challenge on learning all of the levels and driving mechanics to get a good score. The game was ahead of its time a bit in my opinion especially with the realistic driving physics which made it even more enjoyable to folks like me. There really wasn't too many other games during that period that encompassed the physics the game had.
Using the arena to create your own stunts was very enjoyable too. I would try and recreate a monster truck event, crushing cars. Stacking cars and jumping off a ramp into them. So much fun.
@@cLab2022 the arena was awesome! Me and my friends would create the most crazy stunts we could think of and see if we could pull them off in different vehicles. You just don’t get games like that these days.
Really satisfying when you did nail a level aswell
That last mission though, ooh boy!
Titanfall 2 was the one available on multiple platforms as well. One of my most memorable gaming experiences.
Titanfall 2 is pretty good its just that they removed the first person embark on titans from the first one
@@yourtypicalyoutubeguy the first one was an Xbox exclusive
i just really hope the Watch Dogs franchise isnt dead, i love WD2 so much.
ill always remember getting sleeping dogs by accident (i was young and got it confused w the first watch dogs lol) but i loved it so much
WD2 is amazing my favourite ubi game for sure. So much personality.
I really liked Titanfall 1. I know it was missing a lot of things, but it had the things I wanted on a game and I loved playing it. I even reached Max Level on the Multiplayer.
I think they missed on this take. Titanfall 1 was really good and doesn’t deserve to be on this list.
I've noticed that the 2nd on the Microsoft store has it for only a $4. Do I need to play the first before the 2nd. You can't beat that price. I also just got Fallout NV for $2
@@ashleygatton5649 no, the first doesn’t even have a story. You’re cool with just the second one
@@henriqueaugustus1761 Thanks bro. Gamepass has been ripping me off 1week every month. Lots of other's are complaining about it also. Anyways now I'll buy a cheap game for the one week I don't have Gamepass and figured Titanfall 2 for $4 is a great deal.
Titanfall one had so much world building within a multiplayer game, got the art book because of it. Need more games that break the mold and have unique ways to tell a story.
Stuntman was amazning. Completing the level was a great feeling, but then seeing the playback of what you've done was a nice icing on the cake.
Watchdog 2 got the mood that makes it great! Fun and relaxing while exerting.
My favorite is still the first one. The story resonated in me and i fully understood the emotions.
Would love more games where you are a vigilante (not superhero but more john wick) but it seems like it isn't the mainstream thing.
FEAR still has the best implementation of Bullet Time i've ever seen/felt in a game. The way it looks and feel is just off the charts.
Best shotguns ever as well, imo. I've judged every game's shotgun since by how that one performed and felt.
Only game that comes close is Killing Floor 2 imo. Other than that one, I agree that there really isn't any competition.
F.E.A.R. 1 still looking good in term of graphics.....only the textures are bad now
You guys should try out Trepang2 .
I have recently been playing that game because i have such fond memories of Fear and that game reminds me alot of it
@@tominatorxx Severed Steel gives all these games a run for their money. That and maybe ultrakill.
I had sooo much fun on watch dogs with my friend. Especially since we both were born and raised in SF, it just made it that much special to us. So much fun
Aww man so jealous. I have to ask if there is actually a game store in San Francisco where the hackerspace was in watch dogs 2 and if you ever visited it !
Mercenaries was SO MUCH FUN. One of those games you pick up and did not at ALL expect them to be that good. VERY unique and definitely one of a kind. Needs a remaster.
This video is really interesting to me. It's just Falcon talking about his disappointment with certain franchises, which is honestly a good video article. I wish more people would do this because it can really help those of us who want to know about games that might not be on our personal radar
Mercenaries was one of my all time favorite games at the time and still holds a top spot in my heart. I wish they would make a good new one.
Heck yeah! Pretty sure it was EA that murdered the franchise. Who'd a thunk it.
@@jlc5639 pandemic studios went out of business in the 2008 recession and that's why we haven't seen mercenaries again. I don't know what game ranks it's talking about either, I absolutely loved both the PS2 and Xbox 360 versions of mercenaries 2 and they were both completely different games because they were made by different developers
I agree, Mercenaries 2 is a decent game, my favorite of the 2 Mercenaries games. Much much better graphics and awesome explosions including a noke.@@matthewheckman2981
@@matthewheckman2981EA still owns the rights to the IP, no? They could have a different team handle it
Im still fully convinced Falcon is an anthropomorphic evolution oddity and a one of a kind talking bird
But could he beat a Space Marine in a fight?
@@xiowraithbut Woody isn't real, Falcon is, because.. because he talks about games that are happening right now.
I LOVE Streets Of Rage 3 that one hurt. As always, the channel is fantastic. It's incredible that you guys are still putting out so much quality content. Great list as usual. Peace.
@Falcon My thoughts exactly. 11:40 your insight about driv 3 R and F3AR got me! 💯 😂 your narration is always on point. Great comparison there
F.E.A.R. did have a console release on XB360 and PS3, with expansion missions and multiplayer. And I think there was also a horde mode. Personally, I feel Trepang Studios deserves more credit for their spiritual successor Trepang2. Hardly anyone’s talking about it.
Yea I played the first one on Xbox as well. Great game.
I was so confused when he said fear was a pc exclusive, because I remember playing them all on Xbox when I was a teen. I had to pause the video and go straight to the comments just to make sure I wasn’t going crazy lol. Also I will have to check trepang2 out, this is the first time I have heard of it!
Same, I still have FEAR for my PS3. Very confused by his statement.
@@bittycat2302It was PC exclusive when it was released. They later ported it to the Xbox360 and PS3.
@@johnnevec yeah, I realized that’s what he meant after looking through the comments. The way he worded it in the video made me think he was saying the first game never got a console release. And with the way my memory is, I wouldn’t be totally shocked if I had never played it on Xbox and was just misremembering lol
I loved fear 2 (fight me!)
I liked the first Stuntman a lot at the time. And I love Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, wish there were more games like it
Glad to see Watch Dogs 2 get its respect, seriously one of the best open worlds I've ever played in

Nothing unique

Still play Titanfall 2 daily. I love this game
Call of Juarez Bound in Blood was awesome. Easily one of the better first person games of it's time and it was a heaven for Western movies fans
Call of Juarez Bound in Blood is good, brings me nostalgia, but Gunslinger is in another level, that game is just incredible, everything about it has a lot of charisma, and the way the story is told, like an actual tale being told by a charlatan is fucking awesome
Even Gunslinger was good it was soo action packed and story was also good
1 & 2 was awesome. they dont know what they are talking about.
Call of Juarez is a franchise with 1 bad game. The original’s a little clunky but still decent, and Bound in Blood and Gunslinger are amazing.
Yeah Bound in Blood was innovative game, there was no other like it at that time, felt bad when they titled it as a bad game.
I honestly liked Watchdogs 1 far more than its goofy sequels. Aiden is still the face of the franchise.
I barely made it a few hours into the 2nd one until i had enough of it lol
I actually like the 2nd way more than the 1st. The 1st was too close to trying to be an Assassin’s Creed game. 2nd actually had personality. 3rd has lots of replayability. What hurt Legion is the stuff they took out of the game (like progressing the character and not the AI).
I have to say I really enjoyed Mercenaries 2 the destruction mechanics was fun and dropping massive bunker busters on a small tank was just enjoyable.
No way, mercenaries OG was a great game, the sequel was a slap in the face
@@Danarchy3if you say so I've played both I enjoyed the 2nd more the first was great and innovative just enjoy the second more
@WorthyFPS the first game definitely lacks polish but I think the grittieness was its charm. The second game was more polished but had no heart. Lazy cash grab was all it was
@@Danarchy3 idk I liked both, not everyone agrees with that but oh well I played the 2nd first and and 1st second

I'm an old gamer (Pong) and this whole list had me smiling and nodding! Great video.
I enjoyed Crackdown 1 and 2, I recently beat both games again. I really enjoyed the jumping around every where. The first one was interesting with the infiltration of the big skyscraper, lots of enemies in there lol
Fear 1 was amazing. I kinda liked fear 2 story not the gameplay, and fear 3 was fun to play, more action. Fear 1 did come out for console though

Yeah that confused me too cause I swear I played Fear 1 on ps3
Came to the comments for this. I loved the first fear but I've never even gamed on a PC before
@@IGxSkillZz The console version suffers from visual downgrade and framerate issues as it was rushed port.
My theory about sleeping dogs is the main character was going to be the guy from the first true crime but like you said they cancelled it and just made sleeping dogs which is probably one of my favorite games to date.
P.s. merc 2 isn't that bad in my opinion I kinda like the whole gameplay loop of it. I played it a couple of months ago and it held up better than I expected.

Driv-3-er makes me laugh every time. Your videos are always informative and thorough but the humor is def my favorite aspect.
Titanfall 2 will always be one of if not the best FPS games ever made. I'll remember all the good times in its prime and the movement and streamlined gameplay. Yet to find another game that comes close.
One of the most underappreciated games for sure. If only it released when people were completely tired of battlefield and CoD the IP would still be going strong today.... now we just have APEX 🤦🏿

I had F.E.A.R on my PS3 as well. I remember loving it because it could draw you in just to have a jump scare or some comedic thing going on. Fun game.
I played FEAR this year on Series X and had a great time. The 360 version runs with an unlocked framerate, so it now hits a consistent 60fps on Xbox and plays like a dream.

Infamous second son. graphics, story, side quests and DLC. Still one of my favorite games to play through

Stuntman: Ignition is a game that I REALLY wish they’d port to Steam or remaster. Some of the most fun I’ve ever had on PS2. Even got 5 stars on every mission when I was a kid.

Titanfall 2 had a good resurgence recently with a lot of populated servers that actually worked without the need for third party matchmaking or modded lobbies

Stuntman! Man, I haven't thought about that game in forever. What a great game (ignition obviously) lol.
Perfect Dark Zero alongside Halo 2 and 3 were my favorite local multiplayer games to play with my uncles
Mercenaries 2 was my first open world game, so it has a special place in my heart.
I loved Stuntman! It was uber tough like a soulsborne driving game but when you completed the level with minimal errors it felt great.
Man I'm so glad sleeping dogs was mentioned, I couldn't find it on the PS store on my ps5, and this vid reminded me of the game so I looked it up on google and it actually popped up and I was able to buy it, besides the wordle puzzles, its one of the most fun games I've ever played, so glad I was able to get it
Mighty Final Fight on the NES was great.
I only just played Titanfall 2. I bought it 3 years ago but when I tried to play I had some issues running it, so I kinda forgot about it instead of troubleshooting that. Was looking through my library for something to play and it actually ran fine this time. It was awesome, but I beat the campaign in like only 5 hours on normal difficulty. Was hoping the threequel would be coming soon but I don't see anything that they're even thinking about doing it yet.
There's been word that Titanfall 3 was in the works, basically thanks to Apex bringing in a lot of money and also being tied to the same universe however it's been canceled?? I REALLY hope not, this seems to mostly be rumor at the moment but it's what we know for now, this is a somewhat recent news.
Hahah playing Call Juarez 1 is kinda my favorite single player experience from my early teens.😬
Sleeping dogs was legendary for its time, i was really into it.

Never played red steel 2 but I played the heck out of the first one, loved it for what it was back then
I never thought I would like Titanfall because COD and their exo suit jumping stuff, but when i finally played it I had a blast. My friends and I had the best time and funniest moments in the game.
I LOVED Bound in Blood's multiplayer. I wish I started earlier though. It got hard to find a match pretty quickly.
And it brought us the infamous laddergoat! 😆
Em, excuse me, the original True Crime: streets of LA may not have been the most polished of games but it was certainly a good game. I enjoyed the heck out of it a lot, even years after it came out and played through it way more times than I care to admit, even doing alternative missions after playthroughs to make sure I didn't miss a thing. Great game. How dare you good sir! Great video though, keep it coming. 👍
Edit: I will also fully admit that Sleeping Dogs is also just a better version of TC:SOLA, it's phenomenal and I played the remastered version a lot.
Make sure you play the DLC as well ❤
I really wish the Driver series would return. I had so much fun playing 1 and 2 as a kid, and San Francisco was a blast. I still play it to this day.
Never heard anyone call crackdown 2 a botched game before, that was my entry to the series and by far my favorite. I still remember playing it non stop. Lost track of how many times I beat it, absolute banger.
I really liked Call of Juarez Bound in Blood. Good story with the bickering brothers, and something different with the western theme. Yes it was grey-brown, but so was every other game at that time. GTA4, Far Cry 2, and so on. Gunslinger was undoubtedly the best, but Bound in Blood was up there too.
I was thinking the same.
11:08 Fear 1 did come out on consoles, but a year later
I absolutely LOVED the original Call of Juarez. It was a ton of fun to play.
Red Steel 2 was such a great game! I played it all the time on the Wii. I wish I still had it! Unfortunately my old Wii was stolen back in 2011 & insurance only gave us Wii Sports Resort 😢

Perfect dark zero was one of my first 360 games and maybe it was just being a kid happy to have a game for the console but I have fond memories of it. I’m sure if I went back today I wouldn’t enjoy it all that much so im content with it just being a memory.

Uhhhh final fight streetwise was freakin dope 🤣🤣
I remember those stuntman days. Doing levels over and over. Sweat dripping down your forehead and sweaty palms. Those experiences are rare, haha
The Watch Dogs franchise stands out in Ubisoft’s catalog as it consistently brought fresh elements and innovation with each new installment, unlike their other successful franchises that often rely to the same tried-and-true formula. It’s absolutely pathetic that many casual gamers overlooked this game due to Ubisoft’s perceived lack of innovation and the false belief that it’s a GTA clone.
Seriously. I remember when watch dogs 1 came out loads of people were calling it “gta with hacks” but I played it year one and it felt nothing like that at all. It felt like its own new, unique thing. Definitely wasted potential
Literally. As I was playing recently I was thinking of all the “gta clones” watchdogs and sleeping dogs coincidentally lmao really took the cake for being the of them
@Barrythebarnabas honestly Watch dogs 2 was the best of the bat, it improved upon wd and made most things better, there were slight degrades in certain feature but overall the story and hacking was much more intoned.
Watch dogs 1 is the best of the series, just wish It had a mission replay option, I want to replay the viceroy ambush mission and collateral.
Watch Dogs 1 and 2 are very good. Honestly if you played the game, you quickly realized it was very different than GTA. I really loved the dark setting of the first game and the story. Then while the sequel didn’t really have a story, its depiction of San Fran is absolutely amazing. Such a contrast being so bright and colorful and the citizens are so much more unique.
Sleeping dog is so underrated, i told almost everyone this and tell them to go support it. One day i really hope we can get a sequel to sleeping dogs. Follow wei again or something else different in reimagine Hong Kong would be awesome.
I couldn't agree more ❤
You're insane, the first Stuntman was pure gold! I want to go find it now maybe try the second one, too. Mercenaries was also a incredible game.
Yoooo Stuntman Ignition, that's a DEEP cut!
I remember the 90’s game “Soldier of Fortune.” Would love to see another one of those.
Those games were good.
I haven't played Soldier of Fortune Payback, the third game, but Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix was really good and its body destruction system holds up to this day. Plus it had random maps. So it's at bare minimum a series with two solid, maybe 3 games.
@@nak3dxsnake Payback wasn't, just a gore galore.
Crackdown 2 was one of my favorite games from my childhood, and I still have so much fun when I go back to it nowadays. Never knew it was seen as a "bad game"
A lot of us have a game like that to us. Mine was Fur fighters on the dreamcast. Probably wouldn't hold up but i liked it as a kid

That's a great list, guys! Between the mentions of Final Fight and Sleeping Dogs you've reminded me why I still dream of a good 3D beat 'em up. Like the classic Yakuza fight system, but with that as the main focus of the game.
Watchdogs: Legion is one of my picks for most wasted potential in recent memory. The only real problem with that game is that it's like they were afraid to commit to their own ideas or something. I'd love to see that game iterated on, but I guess the franchise is dead?
I would highly suggest you replay Final Fight 3. It’s one of the best 16-bit beats em ups. Blows the first Final Fight away.
Otherwise, great list. I consider FEAR one the best FPS games of all-time, too. (It actually got a console port on the 360, btw). I just replayed it on Steam Deck.
