I was waiting for the BFG, when it obliterated almost the whole room of enemies I was impressed the first time I saw that 🙂
Agree the BFG was the OG Holy #$* gun.
Exactly. How is the BFG not in this list? I have noticed though that gameranx seems to be a bit biased more toward console games than PC.
I expect that to be number 1 or at least top 3
@@cybisz2883 I've never disliked a Gameranx video before, but this will be the first for that reason LOL
Same, and the Holy Grenade from Worms Armageddon.
The moment I saw the title of this video:
*flashback to the first time as a child I used the Cerebral Bore*
yeah, such an underrated weapon
but only cause the game isn't viewed that highly
BewareOblivionIsAtHand
I miss Split-Screening that game with my brothers. 😭 The Dark Matter Gun. 😬
With AI and miniature drones, it would now be possible be possible to make a cerebral bore type weapon in real life. It wouldn't look as sleek and elegant as the one in Turok, but it would function close enough. Of course, it's not really practical when a drone combined with a firearm would faster , cheaper, and harder to avoid.
Turok 2, was ahead of it's Time 😔
F.E.A.R. doesn't have an overpowered shotgun, it's just one of the only games to finally do a shotgun justice
Edit: omfg, I said it's "ONE" of the only games, not "THE" only game, to get a shotgun right
yes ! it's the one type of weapon devs have to nerf down to the ground to get balanced gameplay in most FPS shooters.
DOOM has entered the chat🙃🙃🙃
and the thing is, it’s an actual shotgun from real life
A shotgun is the only weapon you need for close or mid range especially indoor gunfights.
🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ too much TV is bad for the brain
My first HOLY SHIT! Weapon was the taser in Siphon Filter for PS1. Holding it down after shooting an enemy would make them scream and convulse, and if you kept firing they'd eventually burst into flames.
It was (for the time) absolutely brutal.
Syphon filter is god tier I definitely loved finding the taser for the first time
- Fires 12 mini-nukes at Brotherhood Star Paladin
- Does 20% of max health as damage
;_;
think he missed though. it detonated early. never use V.A.T.S.
The Zero-point gun in Half Life 2. It’s the most impressive weapon/tool is unmatched. You can pick up objects, say an explosive barrel, and fling it onto enemies. Or circular saw-blades, and you know how that works.
And when you're finally in the citadel and it gets upgraded, just so memorable.
Don't forget from Doom and Doom Eternal the BFG 9000, it's ridiculously OP
Not mentioning the RYNO guns from the Ratchet and Clank series is a dropped ball…each one of these guns could easily be the most obscene over the top guns in history.
I mean the RYNOIV (I think) played part of the 1812 Overture while spraying missiles randomly everywhere. The RYNO weapons were always a highlight because of how bonkers they were
@@criticallol3039 The would be the R.Y.N.O. V from Crack in Time!
But I agree however my main issues with the Future Saga R.Y.N.O. weapons is they function the same.
I think the best Super Weapon in the franchise (to me at least) would be Deadlocked's Harbinger. Cause holy MOLY does it (literally) rain down the damage!
Serious Sam and it's cannon balls.
@@ThePhoenixScribeI can not argue with that, imagine if they remade Deadlocked and had The Harbinger with today's graphics
everything about R&C is underrated. its a GOAT series.
For those that are confused about tf2s smart pistol from the end of the campaign:
The titans “head” (for lack of a better term) is composed of 2 parts: the AI core that gives it life and personality, and the casing it comes in. Inside the casing is a survival kit for the pilot in case the titan is permanently disabled behind enemy lines.
When you remove the AI core from the head, the casing opens so you can grab the items from the survival kit, the core and pistol being among them.
This model of titan is standardized among the good guys, meaning that the body is expendable; the items in the case are dedicated to help the pilot escape to safety and call in a replacement body, so they can slot the core inside and get *their* titan back.

Tf2? Team fortress 2 😂
Well done! Please tackle the 10 most unique Boss Fights in gaming. You've played enough to know all the weirdos, I want to see em.
I’m pretty sure they’ve done this multiple times already actually
@@scroogemcducks968510 most ‘unique’ boss fights hasnt ever been done, let alone multiple times
they havent played half the games they make videos on.
they are always misspronouncing shit that only people who never played the games could do
also they steal content from smaller creators, like the kratos video
@@yurilopes420 Or you're just angry your channel goes nowhere.
saints row 4 all american deserved a spot on this list.
The Auto-9, RoboCop's signature gun, is just amazing in the recent Rogue City game. Most of the time, FPS games tend to make the starting/default weapon okay at best, as you generally collect more weapons and only use the first as a backup. Not in Rogue City, since it's RoboCop's most iconic weapon, you can upgrade it with collectible circuit boards, and these give all kinds of cool upgrades, including infinite ammo and increased gore effects. There's something so satisfying about watching this pistol turn the thugs of Old Detroit into red mist
God best robocop game EVER I really hope we get more games like it
I always loved the Boomstick from Prototype 2.
An RPG that launches nukes and clears out entire streets, and has infinite ammo.
It's really fun, especially when the streets are filled with infected.
Not a single gun from Borderlands 2 is crazy definitely going to need a part 2
The whole game is filled with crazy guns, to the point that none of them seem crazy lol
My opinion, I would rank Swordsplosion and Unicornsplosion as the joint craziest guns in the game.
The Two-Step Goodbye, ballistic fist from Fallout: New Vegas. It's a forearm mounted shotgun, for explosive punches. One of my favorite weapons in series.
*Infinite* explosive punches 😂
FEAR still looks amazing! Great scares, great shadows, great slow mo action. Wish we can get a new one.
I agree it's one of my favorite franchises
Try trepang2. If you like fear you will like this game.
@@danielkraus8110 I saw the trailers bro, its there in my TO PLAY list.
What about BFG from the DOOM series? 😮
That spear from God of War Ragnarok.
It’s not just like an infinite supply of spears that you can throw, for both combat purposes and poles you can swing on, but you can also detonate those spears by a simple button press. Absolutely badass.
Nice list.
My favorite Dead Rising weapon has to be the Tesla ball. A giant electrified metal ball that totally plows through a zombie horde like a hot knife through butter. It's so satisfying to use.
The singularity mine and nano rifle from red faction guerilla are what come to mind for me.
Especially when you disintegrate a moving enemy vehicle with the Nano Rifle. when I first used it I though "neat!"... and then you realized you literally just vaporised a personel carrier that had multiple soldiers in it. also IIRC you it only took 3-4 shots to take the tail off of one of the aircraft and send EDF on a quick trip to the ground.
The Redshift is a stronger version of the Moonlight. The all of the GoW weapons were over the top but the Hammer of Dawn was the one that really got my attention. Just the name is something to behold.
Yall remember the BLACK HOLE GUN in Mass Effect? 🤯
Mass Effect had some pretty sick heavy weapons
Black Hole Launcher in Saints Row 4.
Sure do hahaha
I knew the cerebral bore was gonna be on here. That was such an outlandish and awesome weapon we’re still talking about it.
I'll never forget the first time I used the Cerebral Bore; as a kid I didn't know what that even meant, but I sure found out when I pulled the trigger. Turok was such a cool series.
Definitely do a Part 2! Turok Evolution has some INSANE weapons that could have hit that list once more.
"Big Boy + MIRV" deserves to be #1.
DUDE, the Artillery/Mortar strike weapon in BF Bad Company was dope as hell! Especially when you unleashed it in those urban environments! Frostbite engine showed its destructive glory!!! 👍🏻
I can name a few more:
BFG 9K: Doom Series and Rage 2
BFG 10K: Quake Series
Mass Effect 2 and Legendary Edition: M-490 Blackstorm is a portable Black Hole Gun. M-920 Cain is a miniature Nuke Gun.
The one that I’d add is the BFG from Doom. Any gun that is simply called Big Fucking Gun has to pack a punch and oh boy does it!
a video game weapon can never be too absurdly shocking
Great list. Surprised not to see the Director’s Gun / Service Weapon from Control on the list though.
That thing is dope 🤘
Using the Smart Pistol in multiplayer in Titanfall 1 was a bad idea. As soon as anybody would use it and get a couple kills the entire opposing team would go out of their way to target that one specific person for the entire rest of the match.
What about the javelin gun or seeker rifle from Dead Space 2? I felt sooooo powerful using these guns to take out Necromorphs.
6:50 "can it get more powerful than that?"
*shoots 12 mini nukes*
also
*barely scratches the enemy*
Yea it's damage rating is high, but that's only because it assumes all the nukes detonate in the same place at the same time, which they don't. Also using it on BoS Paladins is probably not the place to show off how good it can be. Blast that shit into a pile of ghouls or raiders though, then it's pretty devastating. But the big end-game dudes in Power Armor = not so much :P
Honorable Mention to the FarSight XR-20 from 'Perfect Dark'. It is available in only one mission, under normal circumstances, but wow it is awesome.
And you know why the second you fire it....
it's too OP to use outside of one time
How to become the most hated player in the match and become a target for everyone else in a PvP match. Be the first one to get the FarSight and start sniping people across the map through the walls. XD
The sound the cerebral bore makes as the enemy runs in fear…
Absolutely
The Smart Pistol at the end of the Mission makes you FEEL the RAGE and DESPERATION of Cooper.
The thing about health in assassins creed is that it’s a measure of how close you are to what actually happened. This means that connonicly none of the assassins took a hit outside of cutscene. This also implies that Edmond is the only one to actually use the apple.
I always liked clever reasons for health bars.
I’m a big fan of Uncharted and the “luck bar” and Nathan Drake having good luck and each “hit” is actually a close call of slight graze until the final bullet that actually gets you.
I like that a lot more than Far Cry and the horribly tortured hands in those games… lol
Tell me that I have action hero plot armor that can wear thin… awesome! Cool. Let’s do this!
Tell me that pouring some bactine on my hand after being shot or stabbed and I’ll be fine?! No… that’s dumb. lol
@@DanteYewToob play undertale
Saints Row better be on this list. Also the unicorn from that red faction game
Gears have way more impresive weapon than Lancer. In Gears 4 you can get Memento Mori and that pistol insta kills evereything and you don't even have to shoot. Killing those big monsters only with punch or Brumak with one shot is awesome. You can keep that gun for the rest of the game so it made it so much fun to use.
It's iconic though so it deserves a spot on this list imo.
Hammer of Dawn
I feel like the ammit AR2 from destiny 2 deserves a spot here. Sure, it was only OP due to the craftening bug, but it definitely deserves a spot. The thing deleted atheon in under a second, it's crucible kills skyrocketed and towered over all other guns in the game. I made one myself and after all that time farming GM runs that never lasted longer than a minute it's got to level 378 and my vault has acquired ~100 adept warden's laws.
Ahh but how did y’all completely skipped over the iconic ultimate weapon that started it all. The pioneer of OP weaponry. The BFG from DOOM. Should have been a no brainer.
Great list as always. Also a weapon that left me with an open mouth the first time i used it is the M488 rocket launcher from Just Cause 3.
Nice stuff!
Honorable mention: Doom eternal has the crucible sword. It's 1 hit almost to every enemy type.
Running round with the lancer was so satisfying when it actually worked. Best thing about gears
Thanks for the Cerebral Bore reminder. I loved playing with that weapon.
The drilling sound from Turok's Cerebral Bore unlocked a memory for me. XD
The Titan fall smart pistol doesn't need the titan ai to work. He's carrying BTs core symbolically to have him with him and transfer him to a new body later. The smart pistol is the last trump card a pilot can use and is only accesible after their titan is destroyed.
I wouldn't say Moonlight is anywhere "absurdly shocking". It's a decent, but there are a lot more impressive weapons: NGI-006 - a tactical nuke for a missile, WLT 101 - its charge attack is as anime mecha move as it gets, with damage to match. Out of non-coral weapons, I'd go for Pilebunker - its so metal: eviscerating target with huge steel spike for massive damage, - and all 3 just put a smile on your face every time they connect.
Agree, Pile Bunker is the best weapon if you want to talk about shocking weapon. A sword beam is normal stuff in mecha genre. A Pile Bunker is where it is at.
It's also has nostalgia value for me since it reminded me of the SRW series Alteisen way back when.
That shotgun in FEAR is so good that it is always one of my 3 weapons. There is simply nothing better for close quarter engagement. The rest of the weapons come and go, ammo permitting, but the Shot is FOREVER!
Cerebral bore was my go-to back in the day! I miss that one, thanks for the reminder!
The cerebral bore was ridiculous in multiplayer. The moment it got mentioned, I could hear that sound in my head.
The Landshark Gun sould be at least a bonus honorable mention. That thing is hilarious.
Thank you for giving the cerebral bore a place, surprised this hasn’t been mimicked in other games. Needs more love.
Those Fallout Nuke guns are so strong they make my fps go to single digits. 😅
All the guns from Bulletstorm too. Every one is ridiculous in it's own way
The titan fall 2 campaign is one of my favorites. I want original action stories like that, it was reminiscent of the feeling I got fron the MW2 campaign. The time travel reminded me of the dishonored timetraveling, my favorite implementation in a game. Unique stories is why I liked the ghost campaign. I don't even play shooter games anymore but I want these interesting somewhat unique campaigns.
What about the weapons in Bulletstorm? For example the Penetrator. Its a Drill Launcher. It fires powered drill heads that can penetrate others enemies with one single shot.
Thats a way better mention then a normal shotgun.
Erm… not mentioning the M-920 Cain from Mass Effect 2? That thing is an absolute beast of a weapon! Although it’s technically not a nuke gun, it still creates the signature mushroom cloud upon impact. The absurd amount of damage caused by the Cain is insane, and any enemies that are caught in its blast can say bye-bye!
Although it can only be used in a particularly tough battle due to its limited ammunition, Commander Shepard has never kicked ass in a such satisfying, badass way!
I've ONLY ever used that gun on the final boss 😂😂😂
Man, super charged Gravity Gun in Half Life 2 and Episode One deserved a place in this list.
👍🏼
Cerebral Bore is one of my first intense moments on pvp fps. as soon as one was launched everyone freaked out. love it made the list!
The SouthPark Cow launcher was absolutely wild!🤣
Doom's BFG 10K better be on this list! 😃
Sadly Its not... but a unremarkable shotgun is... .. this channel is going all "Disney logic" quantity over quality. Hell i wantched a zombie videgames of 2023 list from them that lords of the fallen on it.. lol 😂
11:41 the drilling sound of the cerebral bore lives rent free in my mind til this day
I love you falcon ❤️🦅
"I love you random stranger" - Falcon
3:33 aside from the range and graphic upgrade, the moonlight's been around forever. And that moon light wave. I'm actually excited that they still have it in there. It's always interesting to see the perspective of people who say Armored Core? The people who made the SoulsBorne series, sure I'll try it. And I think the first time I ever played Demons Souls, I saw From Software, I was like all the people who made Armored Core, sure I'll try it!
You definitely should!
Why does everyone hate on the cerebral bore? (Pretty sure I have spelt it wrong but never mind lol) Its literally a one hit killer that happens to look freakin awesome. I really do not understand the hate for this weapon. I absolutely love it. It is so darn cool.
The silenced pistol from mass effect 2. It would drop the biggest enemies in 1 clip with the weaker enemies taking only 1 or 2. Once I had that, I didn't use much other than I think the m37 falcon, I think. The one that shot mini grenades but cryo ammo maxed out froze most instantly. All the ammo had op effects maxed out. Was really just preference
2 vids - one day - it is the holiday season 😂❤
I've never played Yakuza. And holy shit, that box of nails entry was, uh, pretty shocking... and hilarious 🤣
The best thing about the part of Titanfall 2 when you get to use the smart pistol is that the protagonist shares his voice with Cassidy in Overwatch.
The "It's High Noon!" jokes write themselves.
I instantly thought of the cerebral bore. I'd love to see it in action using Unreal Engine 5.3.
Put some respect on my man KAZUMA KIRYU. How did gameranx let that slide, lol 1:43
I’m delighted gears of war got the respect it deserves in this
Another thing, the doom 1993 shotgun is so cool, it’s like it can do everything! Pretty much infinite range, one shots imps and soldiers, 3 shots pinkies, and it’s just so satisfying
Am i the only one that's thinking of the Supernova weapons from Ratchet and Clank?!
In every entry of this series there is a massive HOLY BONKERS weapon you unlock at your last weapon.
So satisfying and over the top, i hoped to see one of the iterations in this video.
The Lancer is an all time classic! Great choice for #1
"Rip Ya a New One." "What did you just say to me?" "R,Y,N,O. Rip ya a new one" "My! That's the most powerful rocket launcher in the galaxy!"
Honorable mention should include the Injector from Timesplitters Future Perfect, a gun that shoots darts that cause people to inflate until they explode into a bloody mess.
I'm kinda surprised none of the Ratchet and Clank weapons didn't make it on the list.
Shoutout to Bayonetta’s stilettos. They come equipped with guns, shotguns, rocket launchers, swords, chainsaws, whips, or a Chain Chomp.
I felt the same way in Deadrising. I think I was 13 or 14 when it came out and I remember being in the hardware store playing with the excavator and the shower head and just thinking “this is just too much gore.” And I legit felt queasy and didn’t pick that game back up again for years.
Great choices, but I think Doom's BFG needs a mention, especially considering what the acronym stands for.
From the DMC series, I would have chosen "Pandora" it an all you can shoot buffet with that weapon:
° A Throwing giant glaive
° A gattling gun
°An explosive crossbow
° A triple barreled bazooka
° A laser mounted ray
° A multi cannon movile spherical misile turret
°And if thats is not enough you can always open the briefcase to unleash a light that kills almost all minions or deals a lot of damage
i was hoping that pandoras box from DMC would also be there. it was awesome
Perfect way to do a sat morning thanks
Gjallarhorn was a shocking weapon, considering how it never dropped for me in Destiny 1
Number 2 has stayed with me since CHILDHOOD. Damn!
It’s not quite as overpowered on this list but in Cyberpunk 2077 it’s definitely a shock when you receive Sir Phallustiff…
I used that for most of the game, including the finishing blow to Adam Smasher. 😂
Skippy in Cyberpunk was amazing if you waited until a higher level to get it
When I had first found out that weapon existed I reloaded a save from like 20 hours earlier just so I could get it. I have the mental maturity of a child you see, beating the shit out of super advanced tech-powered guys with a vibrator will never not make me giggle.
The Halo 2 scarab gun will always be in my memory
Halo 2 will always be dual needlers for me. Only way to play is to give yourself infinite ammo and turn on every skull
@@geordiejones5618Ohhh that sounds fun
Damn, the sound effect from the Turok one takes me back to some good times giggling with my little brother at exploding skulls.
Appreciate these vidoes
Great way to find more games to play thanks falcon!
You guys haven't hit my feed for months....no idea why. I've got you on all notifications... maybe shiut at CZcams coz i love, love, LOVE your channel....weord gaming stories arr literally KING OF THE INTERNET. Please, never ever stop x
I knew the Moonlight would be on the list.
My shout-out for absurd weapon is the Pesticide Rifle in Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon. Obtained by reaching max level on the jet armor, it's basically a sniper that fires nukes, turning the screen white and usually killing everything including your squad in its blast radius
The butcher from the borderlands franchise is the unmentioned GOAT
The Fision gun from Turok 1 on the N64 was the fist time i was blown away by a weapon.
You didn't forget FEAR's shotgun. Falcon, you never let us down! 👊🏻
Yea.. fear shotgun... ... but a truly over the top video game icon like Dooms BFG doesnt make the list.. 😂
Falcon Doesn't let YOU down.
I absolutely loved the F.E.A.R. series, its unbelievably underrated! But i think even mote powerful than the shotgun, was the psychic brothers powers in F.E.A.R. 3!!! Insanly fun once you unlocked him!
Special Mention-
The Dealbreaker in The Ascent.
Shotgun.
Gatling Gun.
Shotgun Gatling gun.
