The funniest thing about this to me is that George Liquor said that the rule was that whatever is in that very can THEY all had to eat. Then after his b.s can-contents scientific predictions failed, and when it was revealed there was a literal face in the can, George had a psychotic break, and then conveniently dipped out to take a dump talking about the "starving babies". Right after he said, "WE" (they all) were having a face for lunch. Then when he got back, he asked the boys if THEY finished the face, ready to beat them within an inch of their lives with a belt if they didn't. Yeah, he didn't want to eat it either. He's not slick.
The scenes with Cigarettes the Cat were kinda better here, IMO. No bad camera, somewhat better music editing and his lines sound better than the final product.
I'm saying this here because comments are disabled on the finished video. I love this so much, it's hard to describe. The way things shift around as the camera moves, the horrendous mixing on the voice acting ("there's starving African. *BABIES* .who'd kill for a face like this" especially) how it looks both unfinished and way over animated, a strange reliance on the same joke "the cartoon said a bad word, it's not allowed to do that!" The use of old cartoon sounds and music feels both like parody, and that it's genuinely being used. I could go on, I really could. It's just the perfect definition of "so bad it's good" it was meant to be good by all who worked on it, but was so much of a fustercluck that it hops out of the uncanny valley, and straight onto hilarious. Every time this pops in my mind, I just can't help but drop what I'm doing to rewatch it, just to see if it's as bad and good as I remember. -10/+10/10
As fare as the crappy mixing on George's lines, it's because his VA did his line reading for the cartoon when John K was still in pre-prep and then passed away by the time John got into actually creating the cartoon. They had to work with the takes that he did as they were.
_a strange reliance on the same joke "the cartoon said a bad word, it's not allowed to do that!"_ sounds like me watching Hazbin Hotel... but strangely, everyone loves that crappy thing.
The strangest thing about the outcome......... Spumco was one of the very firsts in mainstreaming use of cheap Flash animation to be used for cartoons, but it's like Kricfalusi was the only one who never wanted to learn how to make it look any better over the time spent on making this. It's so crazy because there are some good shots and expressions in the final product but the crappy overtone of everything just overthrows what effort was wasted here. You spend so much complaining about Disney and their CG and you come out with _This???_

Honestly, same. The short does have a few problems, but when separating the art from the artist, it's pretty well animated and the posing is pretty expressive. I can't say I really like it but I also can't say it isn't that bad at certain points.
THIS $hit was one of John's K last animation?! Story: George Liquor force those kids to eat from an unknown can that has a face that looks human otherwise he'll beat them with his belt?! He went too far with this dark humor and shows more about him.
Probably just a scratch recording done either before or after Micheal finished his some of his vocal work on the short. I'm saying SOME, because he sadly passed away before he could do the final voice recordings, which explains why some of the lines from George in the short sounds poorly cut together.
Well, It's not really any different from the final version apart from a few early/unused dialogue and scenes. Also, who the f*** is that girl at 7:25 😳 ???
Probably just a random sketch done by John. After all, after Ren and Stimpy ended, John started selling phone doodles, which was basically just drawings he did while having phone calls. So, I can imagine him sketching that with the hope that he could sell that alongside the storyboard.
This honestly looks way better than the complete version.
Yeah because their is way less filler and dragging on scenes.
There's a complete version?
How when it's the same shit.
@@skinnyweenie8679 because it’s more visually engaging
Maybe it's cuz the camera sits still.

My favorite part is how the final version is about as stiff as the final but the unfinished animations enhance it

At least Hazbin Hotel's getting a full season on Prime Video, something John K won't even get close to nowadays.
The cat's line delivery is so much better in this version. It was jarring how bad they were in the final product.
They weren't that bad in the final version. I like how more emotionless he sounded in the final version. Also, He has a name You uncultured swine.

What’s sad is that this was Mike pataki’s last role in his career before he died. Rip
Tbh Liquor was only good thing in that short. Pataki's voice in this short is just ASMR level satisfying.
This is the only way you could watch this short and laugh at it.
