Should you shoot Sports Videos Horizontally or Vertically?

I see more and more horizontal videos put on Instagram reels where it fills the frame on the viewers' phone - the viewer is forced to turn their phone to landscape to view it properly.

Honestly, I think you should always shoot horizontal. With how good cameras are these days, zooming in on 4K footage is the right move imo. Yeah key framing may stink but like you said, can't exactly go back on footage when you shoot vertical first.
