Kevin, great questions. I faced the same dilemma. Firstly, I only use it on the road and as an alternative to a m/cycle. Secondly, the cf moto (overland model in particular) is the main alternative. After researching heavily, I chose the TGB for the following reasons: It is made in Tawain and not China so build quality will definitely be better. All of the reviews which I've seen mention that riders of the cf moto experience significant heat issues from the exhaust which passes 8nder their leg leading to a lot of discomfort. Once the initial thrill of your new ride has worn off this will be a major downside for most riders. TGB also has a much better guarantee than the cf moto. Also, most commentators tend to agree that the TGB is far superior in terms of quality then the cf moto. Yes, it's a bit more expensive and you have to buy the top box separately but that extra initial cost will evaporate into thin air once you start riding the TGB rather than experiencing ongoing heat problems from the exhaust which will really turn into a frustrating and uncomfortable riding experience. Ultimately though, these are just my opinions and the choice is yours at the end of the day. Hope this helps buddy.
