@@hurt1704I’ve seen 3 2019’s pop up just today on various sites. All for 3K. People are panic selling thinking they need to sell before the Heritage releases.
@chltmdwp technically, considered part of what's known as the frame. It's the part under the slide where you attach your weapon lights on. Look how the 2019 Staccato P 4.15, the slide/barrel are flush with the frame/full dust cover and on the newer Staccato at the end of the slide there's about half of inch missing on the frame/dust cover.
This is a very interesting video, another interesting part about it is that the old staccatos or 2019 models are the ones the US Marshals SOG they’re the first to test these and majority of them are carrying the 2019 models, but they’ll be moving over to the current staccato Ps moving forward. This pistol here although expensive for us and many police departments surprisingly it’s catching on hard on staccatos website it’s stated that 1,300 or more LEO agencies have now adopted the pistol which is pretty crazy. They started out as when I first looked 3-500ish but seeing 1,300 plus that’s a big jump and hasn’t even been two years it’s only been a few months I’ll say 6-8months. If LEO agencies are carrying them that must mean something
@joeFromTheAfternoon Thank you for taking the time to put together such an informative video. I've been on the fence for a few years now on buying a Staccato (mainly for the price). I can see the quality these firearms are made with and have finally decided there is a reason why 2011 / 1911 fetch the price they do. So after much researching and checking out your video. Not only am I now following you but I've decide to jump in and purchase a Staccato P. Please keep up the great work.
I had an anomaly on my first one. I missed out on the 2019s and got one of the first 2020 models. "Staccato" was still just the model, STI was listed as the manufacturer, serial number was a TX Prefix with no P and no "20" or "21", it did not have the flag printed on the right hand side of the gun.
Very interesting video. Thanks for the information. I've been thinking a lot about the Staccato line recently but I can't afford it quite yet. Thanks again!
My Staccato P must be a hybrid. I got mine in 2019-20. Mine has the adjustable sights, Dawson guide rod, star pattern grip, no magwell, no slide cuts, magazines are not silver, magazines were flat and the others extened with star underneath base plates, barrel is more of a matte stainless.
I've been looking to visually see the side by side. I have the newer P. And I just ordered the new limited edition version of you 2019 model. What brand magwell is that?
Good job. Have an issue with the beaver tail of the newer model. It's digging to the web of my hand. I noticed the 2019 has a more rounded beaver tail. I might change the beaver tail to the old one. Hopefully it helps.
I’ve heard a ton of people complain about that. I got lucky in that I don’t have this issue. I DID have the issue with my Colt 1911. I had to bust out the dremel and bust out some amateur work on the strong side safety but it worked!
Looks like they are making a heritage model. Looking to pick that up. Do you think the 4.15 barrel shoots worse or has worse recoil than the new 4.4? Thanks!
Better do it while you can. I have heard numbers as low as 1500 are being released so they will be gone in a hurry. I already have a deposit on 1 of 10 at a shop in Michigan and all 10 were spoken for within a few hours
I think they’re both DLC coated. And I’m pretty sure you can either get DLC or Polished DLC or High Polished DLC the regular DLC is matte and DLC is porous and requires oiling the gun or it can corrode
Not sure if mine is 2019 0r 2020 model? I have a 4.5 in barrel but the lower has a TX ser and the empty As in staccato and flat rail. Also my hammer is round. Mine didn’t come with a mag well either. Pistol carrier has a USA tag and built for shooter made in the USA. All of my mags are black, have STI stamps and the large mag base plates. Is there a web site to look up serial number's? Thanks for the video.
Yours is the first year (2020) iteration of the non full rail Staccato. They had TX serial numbers. The bull barrel stuck out a bit and isn’t flush like the following years.
Love my tree bark 2019P. I sent it back to Staccato to have the Optics cut system installed, and they had to re-DLC the slide. Can confirm the slide has a darker, matter finish now. Idk if it’s because they DLC’d over the original finish and made it thicker, or if they sandblasted it and re-did it completely with a more matte finish.
You certainly can! It’s not just grips like on a 1911 though… You have to change the entire lower module. If you search videos on CZcams, I’m sure there’s plenty out there that will show you how.
@@hurt1704while they aestheticlly look similar at first glance they are actually different. The machinewerks version is contoured ever so slightly at the opening to allow gen 3 mag compatibility. The stock magwell will only allow gen 2 / 1 mags. I found this out after making the video unfortunately
DPO = Dawson Precision Optic DUO = Dawson Universal Optic Both refer to the plate system for the staccato. DUO and DPO are the exact same cuts, they are just different plates, and with that different front sights. The DUO is older, had a thicker plate, no set screws for windage adjustment on the plate rear sight and the gun came with a taller front sight. The newer DPO comes with a thinner plate, pushing the optic down, allowing for a shorter front sight. All in all they are the same, just different accessories

They just announced the heritage version. This video was very informative, I wasn’t aware of the differences in the 2019 model. Good video, thank you!
I’m in love with the heritage edition
I like the 2019 version better. Heritage has one too many X serrations. Looks very busy. Definitely not terrible looking though.
@@JoeFromTheAfternoon I think many do, but it’s the closest we can get now to the 2019 plus they are only making 1500 of them. I can’t wait to get it

2019 P 4.15 for me, the full dust cover is something they should still offer.
What does dust cover mean?

@@awokeone7997Thanks! Is there an advantage to full dust cover vs non full dust covers?
No, but the full will hang up on your holster
@chltmdwp just a lil extra weight up front so recoil is probably about the same as the 4.45 Staccato P
I'd love to have one of those! Sadly, Lord Pritzker would never allow such a large magazine here in Illinois. 😔
Excellent video, thank you for explaining the differences, I'm searching for a P now and this was very helpful.

They are approved for use, not issued.
@HWG-wm8ld for LEO agencies right not the Marhsals cause the Marshals SOG adopted the pistol

When customizing a staccato on their website they let you pick between aluminum or steel frames, which is best? Pros & cons?
Unless you plan on carrying the P (aluminum is lighter) I’d say steel frame all day. More weight = more stabilized platform
