    I have to admit , I've always been a traditional 1911 guy , and any variation from the original was blastimy ... Especially one in 9mm ...... But. This Staccato P Duo , has been lurking in the back of my mind like a splinter.... Very intrigued. After the holidays , I think I'm going for it .....

    Great review, fun channel.... SUBBED!
    I did the academy with a Sig P226, then shot matched with it for a year, made my first master card with it.
    About that time my single stack 1911 in .45ACP showed up.
    In spite of the increase in recoil, I shot better with it IMMEDATELY. Better than the gun I had used for matches, practice and carry for over a year!
    I went on to a bunch more 1911 / 2011 guns and I'm still in love.
    They are the light of Zartha.

    I feel your pain (literally) on the beaver tail. I have the P and the C2 and they are punishing if I don’t get my grip just right when shooting. If I really bear down on my grip, it definitely feels better than when I don’t. Usually feel a little tender at the base of my left thumb (lefty shooter) for a day or two after shooting.

    The XC is a beast. I have the 2020 P DUO and the XC and the XC makes the P DUO feel like a Glock. Haha. It’s definitely my range toy though as the trigger pulls less than 2 lbs. pick up the chwps plate for your PDUO and that rmr will sit super low in the slide. Deep enough it looks milled even with a plate and cowitness perfectly with the new Dawson .190 fiber sight. Also which safariland is that?

    Excellent review. Looking forward to reviews on the MAC DS 1911 aka Turkatto and the APOLLO 11. More reasonably priced double stacks. STACCATO P $2,500 with taxes is expensive and with a plastic trigger? Peace

    • @sparda1123
      @sparda1123  Před 3 měsíci

      The thing to watch on a lot of the less expensive options are MIM parts and lack of hand fitting. I've yet to see one of the more affordable options that hasn't had one of those two things. The trigger isn't hard to change on these I've done 4 now and can knock em out in about 2 hours each. Hardest part is getting the safeties off and figuring out where to shave on the trigger bar. Thanks for the feedback, hopefully one of these companies can figure out to bring the cost down. It's not impossible, but it'll eat in to their margins.

    This might sound dickish, but shooting and dry firing the gun more will build up the snakebite callus on the web of your thumb. You should really check out the grip service that Extreme Shooters does to reduce and improve the texture on it. Did it to my Staccato P and it's an incredible difference. My duty firearm is Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS with RMR & X300U setup. I never shot it well enough to my liking and was never a fan of them. On the other hand, I shot well with Sig. But in the academy they told us these are easy to use and accessories are easy to get and pretty much a brick. So most of the class bought these. I also carry it off-duty EDC OWB holster with no issues. I am thinking about purchasing a Staccato C2 for duty since it will be easy to carry off-duty as well. But I am keep coming back to P and am confused which one to pick. I don't like the magwell thickness in the new P version. I wish some of the local ranges had these in stock to shoot before I can order it.

    • @sparda1123
      @sparda1123  Před rokem

      The magwell should be removable you just need a shorter pin for it. If your in Florida I'd be happy to host you in the central Florida area. I'm a bigger guy so don't have issues concealing a bigger gun but I get it.
      The staccato is like cheating, if I couldn't use it I'd go M&P 2.0 with apex trigger and barrel. It comes close but still no staccato with the recoil impulse. The P will be softer shooting than the c2 but I'm splitting hairs here. Up to you though, pros and cons to everything. I will say, you will notice the weight difference carrying it over the glock but if you don't walk many miles then it's really not an issue.

    That's not true with the xc it does not dip in the front from recoil facts!! shoot one first before you make that Assumption You're a CZcams personality you're information is to state the facts and not myths staccato xc is the flattest shooting staccato out there Believe me no dipping! Great video brother 👍I run bill drills all day at 1.7s from the holster With the Blackhawk omnivore It does not touch the pistol level 2 retention No worries about slide wear it attaches to the surefire x300u-a.

    • @sparda1123
      @sparda1123  Před 2 lety +1

      I think I can see where you interpreted me stating the XC dips. Let me add additional context to clarify my position. What I was referring to was the legacy STI pistols ive shot that were 5 inch and ive also experienced the same on Glock34s. This was not a dig at the xc in anyway, as I mentioned, I've never shot it. To further clarify, I wouldn't apply that same logic to the xc because it's not technically the same as a traditional 5 inch slide. The slide is a 4. Something plus a non reciprocating comp to equal 5 inches overall.
      To summarize, the more reciprocating mass the more spring you need to send that mass forward which usually results in that dip. Again, I don't hold this logic to the xc because i don't consider that a traditional 5 inch gun, just like my roland special doesn't track that way either but a 34 does, they are the same length overall, but they're different.

    Good video but all the hand gestures are really distracting.

    A single action with a grip safety in the hands of most cops, soldiers and shooters in general is scary. This gun is for competent shooters which the majority of gun owners are not.

      Like anything firearm related, you should seek training.

      I actually like the fact they give you a soft case, I actually use it for my training mags. All my other gun cases i don't use. Going to the range with a pistol, grab the soft case with mags that go with it.

      @@sparda1123 Agree. Unlike the stack of blow mold cases for all my other guns... the soft case with mag straps is actually useful.
