Staccato XC VS Nighthawk Sand Hawk / Battle of the best 2011

  • The battle of the nice 2011, Staccato XC vs Nighthawk Sand Hawk. Both of these pistols are among the nicest shooting handguns currently available, the built in comp on both of these 2011 pistol eats up most of the felt recoil. Slides are smooth, optics system is decent, good sights, comfortable grips, and great triggers.

I'm going with the XC every day, the price, looks, weight and not to mention the barrel/comp are made from one solid block of steel unlike the TRS, it's a two pieces system so durability. For the extra money you save on the XC you can add a 509t/SRO, a light and metal trigger and probably still be under the TRS.

Both guns are excellent, the Sandhawk is more elegant whereas the Stoccato is more workhorse. Brass tacks: The Stoccato XC (which can be ordered with a 4lbs trigger) with a Cheely metal grip is $5K ready for optics, and the Sandhawk is $5950 ready for an optic. In a perfect world, I'd own both...in the reality world the XC is the better value. I'd own both if it were possible though. Why the hate on Streamlight? Lol.

anyone else notice the weak/inconsistent ejection on the Nighthawk? yea, not for $6000+... i'm guessing it still needs to be tuned. and the lack of it locking back on last round was noticeable. even with the editing. the XC seemed to be more consistent locking back AND ejecting the brass. AND it's cheaper! XC's got my vote. good comparison!

Great vid thanks m8. I just noticed a Nighthawk is not performing so well as I expected for this price tag, Im not sure if all what I saw was intentional adn dont get it wrong. But its ejecting pattern was really weak, Im not sure it its coz of weak load, but on other hand I presume you run both gun with same ammo and Staccato run like a champ, always slide lock back on last round (I thing several time NH did not) and due to weak ejecting in one brass jump and stuck back in to gun. Just what I saw I defenetely looking up to Staccato.

I don’t know maybe it’s just me or maybe it’s a Texas thing but the separations on the staccato look a whole lot like the ones on this here shadow systems, Pistola in front of me. Then again the night hawk reminds me a whole lot of an FN 509C both in baby poop peanut butter!
I’m really kind of amazed at the sudden or maybe not so sudden interest on 2011’s. Once only the purview of competitors or the Uber-rich thanks to more and more manufacturers getting into the game - Like SA with the prodigy Triarc Systems and the Bul armory SAS II - competition drive down prices -albeit a little and increases choices for poors like me.
Seeing that neutered 10 round mag makes me sad 😢. But soon - very very soon all those 15 and 30 round mags will be coming out from under the attic floorboards to breathe the sweet air of freedom 🇺🇸. The sickly sulfur stanky air of New Jersey Freedom!! I done Subbed up brother!!

Big price difference between the two. The Nighthawk is more like an heirloom weapon with a lot of handmade and hand fitted art type quality of craftmanship. So a bit of apples and oranges conparison.

@TiberiousGib oh I guess I'm wrong then, last I checked or assumed the XC was like 3.5k and the Nighthawk was 5.5k . That's not too much of a jump to get a completely hand made and hand fitted gun rather than production fit and finish.

I own a staccato, and i have shot the nighthawk in competition. Both great guns, nighthawk i like the stock grip better. I like the aftermarket availability of parts and upgrades for staccato. I do prefer slightly the nighthawk, but its no where near twice the price. Both are premium guns, but you can have 2 staccatos for the price of the sand hawk almost and the nighthawk didnt have ambi safety.. Insanity at that price point to be honest.

@86keen I don't buy tools for the experience. A good rifle is a much better tool than a pistol could dream of being. So, i$3-6K for a rifle all day, but a pistol isn't worth that as an actual fighting tool.
