In season one it is revealled that Sinclair once worked as a roofing carpenter (Worker), he fought in the Earth Alliance as a pilot (Warrior) and was educated by Jesuit monks (Religious). This informed Valen's creation of the three castes of the Grey Council.
The carpenter connection is also a nice parrarell to Jesus, which is essentially who Valen is to the Minbari.
"You take, Zathras die. You leave, Zathras die. Either way, bad for Zathras."
Was that Zathras, ZathRas, ZaThras or Z'Athras how did he say his name again? 😉😂🤣😉
"You talk like a Minbari"
What will really blow your mind is that Neroon is wrong. Sinclair does not talk like a Minbari After a thousand years of reverence for Valen, the Minbari all talk like Sinclair!
So now we know all the "prophecies" of Valen was simply Sinclair "remembering" what had happened in his own "past". At this point, once Sinclair left the current timeline, the prophecies of Valen are complete. JMS actually foreshadowed this in the episode with Michael York who thought he was King Arthur. At the very end Marcus has a throwaway line about maybe Kosh being Merlin. He says Merlin was said to have aged backwards so his "prophecies" were just him remembering the future. The more you look into this show, the more incredible it becomes.
Yes, this show is very much King Arthur in space.
Valen wasn't mentioned until Season 2 and 3. They had to build the backstory for Sinclair on account of Michael Ohare getting sick.
@emilmlodnicki3835 Valen has always been in the show, what are you talking about.
Valen was mentioned at least as early as Babylon Squared.
25:16 I love how the Londo G'Kar strangling scene gets completely re contextualized once we have that final scrap of information (Londo's keeper). I always assumed Londo's visions of this moment was just the inevitable end of the hatred between himself and G'Kar and then we find out that G'Kar killing Londo was an act of mercy.
Yes, one of the Vorlons next to Valen was Kosh. The other was the Vorlon we saw last episode. They both knew Valen 1000 years ago.
The Vorlon on Minbar was called Ulkesh
The Original plan was for Sinclair to be Valen reborn.
Basically B5 would be destroyed by the Warrior Caste in retaliation for Delenn breaking the Gray Council.
Sinclair, Delenn and their team would steal B4 to bring to the Present and use it as their new base called Babylon Prime.
Just as Anna has been a driving force for John to learn about the Shadows in the original plan it was Catherine Sakai.
There was no Sheridan in the original plan it was all Sinclair including his relationship with Delenn.
But Michael O'Hare had his mental health issues and had to be written out. JMS came up with Sheridan and amazingly salvaged the storyline.
Michael O'Hare deserves a lot of credit he held on long enough in season 1 to end the season for his castmates. JMS offered to write him out ASAP but Michael didn't want to hurt the show. He then cameback to give his character closure once he got well enough to. He was a private man who asked JMS to keep the reason he left quiet until his death even though there were awful rumors of the Network not seeing him as a leading man which weren't true.
Michael O'Hare was a fighter on and off camera and bless him for bringing Sinclair/Valen to life.
Where are you getting the first bit from? I've been an avid B5 fan since it first aired and have NEVER heard that, so I would appreciate a source on that.
I have doubts about what you say because the entire premise of the show is that it is the story of Babylon 5. Doing what you say would be like Deep Space 9 being destroyed at the end of their season 3 (or was it 4?) and than just carrying on with a show named after something that no longer exists.
To explain the scene with Londo, remember the earlier prophecy "You have three chances to avoid this fate ... You must not kill the one who is already dead" - in this episode Londo even says "You are my last chance"
JMS himself has mentioned his true intention, but it's way too early in the series to start having that discussion in these guys' thread. I'll get back to you in a few months ;]
How the hell have i only just got the relevance behind "The man who is already dead."? Jeez i'm an idiot.
This episode also explains why Swedish Meatballs can be found throughout the universe a thousand years later. It was one of Sinclair's favorite recipes.
you mean breen.
And is explained why, because Velen leave Mimbar to roam the universe after the war.
If you go back and watch the newest version of the pilot, when Kosh meets what he thinks is Sinclair, he greets him as "Entil Zha Valen."
And I hate that they did that. It really gives it away if you have a good memory. When I introduce people to the series, I mute that part.
@@cruelangel8689 I skip The Gathering all together. There is absolutely no reason to watch it. I started watching it first run from Midnight on the Firing Line. It wasn't until yesrs later I saw the pilot. It's a novelty, but it is absolutely not needed to watch the series, and if anything it just makes the main series slightly confused... Because all of the creative and character changes.
Delenn not touching Sinclair's shoulder was just a continuity glitch. It wasn't meant to show that things happened differently. Anyway, it was fun watching your heads explode just like ours did when this first aired. 😄
What. A. Ride.
Such a great way to finish Sinclair’s story! “He is the closed circle. He is returning to the beginning.”
Or start Sinclair's/Valen's story
Also, the two Vorlons with him were likely Kosh, and Ulkesh.
For Ulkesh - you'll see more of him, quite soon (wears purple...)
@@chrissonofpear1384 shhhhh
Delenn not touching Sinclair's shoulder was one of the only 2 items they could not reconcile; the other was the description of how Zathras appeared. Everything else was matched up.
although Delenn touching Sinclair's shoulder could have just been in consoling Sinclair, not that hard really.
@@Knight121198 I am not sure, but that distinction could have been intentional, reflecting the difference between what JMS originally intended that scene (as shown in Babylon Squared) to mean (with Michael O'Hare staying with the show all the way, and the transition to Babylon Prime) and what the story actually became (Bruce Boxleitner's role); I am leaving out the details for those who don't want to know until having watched the aired version all the way through.
It was part 1, but Garibaldi says he saw Babylon 5 getting invaded and destroyed, but Garibaldis flash was backwards about his girlfriend on Mars, Sinclair got that on his flash foward.
Londo Mollari in first episode series (when Michael stops him from trying to kill G'kar): "It seems I'm still on target for my appointment 20 years from now."
My favorite part of this episode is future Londo. Such a very tragic figure. Great writing.
"Fix this Zathras, move that Zathras, poor Zathras'!" - Zathras of House Zathras
"There is symmetry" - House word of House Zathras
Valen founded the Gray Council. Delenn broke the Gray Council. The future is yet to come...
It is touching that JMS did much to help Michael O'Hare after discovering his mental issues.
First, he offered to halt production, so O'Hare could seek treatment. Knowing this could cost jobs and, ultimately, doom the show. He refused. Only asking to finish the season and then write him off. Giving JMS time to find his replacement.
He then wrote this episode and the video cameo as a way to give him some work and a heroes send off.
I presume the theft of B4 was supposed to be towards the end of the series or was to performed by post B5 series Sinclair.
The theft was planned to be at the start of a post B5 series called Babylon Prime with Babylon Prime being what B4 was renamed to after the theft.
When i saw the OG broadcast in the UK in the 90's I was like WHAAAAAATTT! Superb writing, what a great show.
Remember, its not fully automated. So as Sinclair is otherwise busy, whose driving B4 back?
That's right, its our hero, Zathras.
If I remember correctly from things JMS have said online, this episode was originally to take B4 to replace the destroyed B5 which was the plan for the show if Sinclair had stayed. Some of the scenes then didn't quite match up from Babylon Squared from the new rewrite of this episode.
Sinclair is Valen, the same Valen that created the gray council and led them through the great war. Delen represents the one who is. My guess is she was the key to bringing Sinclair into the fold and making it possible for him to “Return to the beginning”. But I don’t think I should say more about Delen.
There is also symbolism involving the migration of souls. Sinclair becomes Valen (a full Minbari) and how it was. Delenn is half Minbari half human which is how it is now. Sheridan is fully human, how it will be in the future.
All hail Vir! RIP Stephen Fust, Vir, and Tim Choate, Zathras, the true heroes of Bab 5. Stephen has a speech coming up that will knock your socks off.
Most of the main cast in B5 has left us sadly.
@@Gazer75 True. At least parts of them have been saved for all of us to cherish in this show and their other works.
In case you missed it…… the reason Sinclair did not want Garibaldi to go with them was because if he did, he also would have aged however many years Sinclair did because he also was exposed to tachyon particles when they went to B4 2 years previous
This episode is like finding the last missing puzzle piece... At first I was apprehensive about the twist, but it grew on me. I don't like to think his story just ends unceromoniously after fighting the shadow war, but of him sitting on a cliff edge overlooking Minbari hills, playing Minbari harp or chess with Zathras, or something... On your rewatch you'll see subtle foreshadowing that will blow your mind. Not going to say any more...
Its Delenn in the suit. She gave her stabiliser to Sheridan when he appeared and took his suit, then Zathrus gives her the fixed one after Sinclair and her touched hands.
The shoulder thing you noted was part of the changes done to correct issues with sinclare leaving the show as they had to move to the storylines to sheriden.
Remember who made all the prophecy that the mimbari have been following?
Michael O'Hare got a great sendoff here, and I'm glad he did because he definitely deserved one.
I've always said that his efforts on helping to keep Babylon 5 on the air after he had to depart the series due to illness are tremendously underrated. He stood aside with grace, continued to support and advocate for the show even though he was no longer on it, still attended conventions and was one of the show's biggest proponents.
If he hadn't been so willing to take one for the team the way he did there might not have been a season 2 or 3 of B5, and it would now be a forgotten show with a handful of fans speculating on how it would have gone had it not been cancelled.
Time for a nerdy joke...
The bartender says, “We don’t serve tachyons in here.”
A tachyon walks into a bar.
So cool how JMS managed to work the previous episode into this one.
Now two mind-blowing pieces of the puzzle can be revealed. The "triluminary", the most holy Minbari relic that lights up in the presence of Valen's DNA... is simply a piece of old circuit board from Sinclair's communicator patch. Second, ALL of the prophecy we have heard through from religious Minbari and Kosh are just Sinclair's memories.
The parts for the Chrysallis machine are in those yellow boxes triangular boxes that Zathras is loading onto the station.
While I do really like the theory that the triluminary is made from Sinclair's link, unfortunately JMS has said that the theory that the triluminaries (there are 3 of them) are pieces of Sinclair's link is not correct, and to be fair up-close they don't really look like a link.
One tip guys after you finish the show and goes back to rewatch it you will catch hints and spoilers JMS placed throughout the series. This two part show has ties to things even in the pilot that it finally paid off and with those time flashes you get hints of things to come, JMS is a master of telling you were things are going without telling you how your going to get there, making the ride better than the destination. JMS would have been a great vacation planner if that talent would work in the other field. Imagine kids instead of asking are we there yet were too caught up in the trip to care if they ever got to the final location. Your in for quite the ride.
This was the reason I became so paranoid about spoilers to this day. B5 was airing while I was in grad school. I had a major test the week this episode aired, so I did not watch it live. Taped it and figured, well, I can wait til the weekend to watch it. My mistake was going to my local comic shop on Friday to pick up my books. Someone was chatting with the clerk as I was going up to the counter and what do I hear "Could you believe Sinclair was Valen!?!"
"You talk likea Minbari"... nah, Minbari just talk like Sinclair. :)
In the pilot movie In the Beginning notice how the first thing Kosh says to the Sinclair imposter was "En'til Zha Valen"?
Do you mean the Series Pilot "The Gathering"? Sinclair only shows up for the Battle of the Line during "In The Beginning".
"The Gathering" (Pilot) not "In the Beginning".
@@TokenSelf oh that's right. My bad
Also, that is only in the TNT re-cut/mastering of "The Gathering", not the version that originally aired in 1993.
But it does explain why Kosh shook Sinclair’s hand: he was greeting an old friend he hadn’t seen in 1000 years.
Delenn is the one that is. Your asking what she has done. What do you think about everything she's done in the show so far? She put everything together that's got to this point.
IMO this is one of the 'Tidiest' time travel stories in movies & TV. We know Ray hates them but here there is no paradox's & no logic jumps. Human & Minbari souls started to merge when Sinclair became part Minbari (he did it first while in the past) & Delenn changed to close that loop & during the Earth-Minbari war the Tri-lunary glowed when they were testing Sinclair because it was keyed to Valen's (Sinclairs) DNA which is how the Grey Council made the connection between Human & Minbari & gave them the excuse to end the war. Who was in the suit when is still foggy to me as I think all of them were in it a one point. And the taking of B4 was taken in the middle, pushed to the future, then sent to the past.
yup, as I said in the first part react, I hate time travel episodes.. but this is on par with ST IV and Yesterday's Enterprise. (ok I liked the SNW/LD crossover too)
valen is not KOSH. Kosh was one of the Vorlons next to Valen
Time was in flux during the episode. There was two ways it could go. If the shadows won the war 1000 years ago then they would have more ships and coming out right away attacking everyone now. Thus the battle on B5 Sinclair and Micheal saw. But becaue Valen lead the rangers and Minbari in the past the shadows lost the war and many of their ships. Now as Delen told Sheridan in seaon 2 the shadows are moving slowly and not coming out in force this time.
“Cannot run out of time. There is infinite time. You are finite. Zathras is finite. This … is wrong tool.”
The man(s), the myth, the legend: Zathras!
I still mutter "Wrong tool" to myself while I'm doing computer work. ...
I remember when this first aired. After the "I am Valen" bit I sat speechless past the credits and waaay into the comercials with my jaw in my lap.
Delenn touching his shoulder is different because they were keeping her out of frame to keep from revealing her change early.
Garibaldi couldn't come to the ride because he, like Sinclair, had already been exposed to the maximum of time radiation a person can handle back in Babylon Squared.
If he'd come a second time, he'd be stuck in the past or die of old age as soon as he left the anomaly cocoon surrounding B4 in the present - like the pilot that happened to be too near B4 when it emerged in 2261, back in Babylon Squared.
The blue spacesuit is a prop from the 1980s film "2010: The Year We Make Contact". In turn, that spacesuit is a recreation of a spacesuit from "2001: A Space Odyssey", which is "2010"'s predecessor.
1:37 - you can see the symbol on the back wall. It is a '4' on top of a 'B'. That 'B' is what could be mistaken for a '3'.
Now watch "In the Beginning" and see if you notice anything familiar.
What a great story twist , a couple of re-watches are needed .
Sinclair is Valen. He lived and died as a Minbari in the past. Kosh is one of the 2 Vorlons with him when he says I am called Valen. The other Vorlon is the one who talks to the Minbari at the beginning of part 1.
The way the time flashes work is that you jump to other points in your life, it’s not just a vision, you literally move forward or backward within your life. That’s why both Sinclair and Garibaldi were so confused in their respective time flashes. Their current consciousness was actually in that time. Sheridan’s jump is extended due to his missing stabilizer but he is experiencing his future from within his own body at that time. There was an attempt to make him look older, he has some grey and some eye wrinkles but it’s very hard to notice since most of the scenes are filmed either in near darkness or harsh lighting. It’s actually pretty accurate, though. Aside from letting his hair grey out, he looked pretty damn good in his early 60’s, 17 years after this episode. He looks good now, but clearly older in his upper 70s.
What you think is a 3 is the B of the B4 logo. The B is in black and overlaid by the red 4. It’s a bit of a messy logo.
also for your info. the machine that delean and sinclaire used only adds dna. when delean changes, it's using sinclaire's dna from the change in the "past" so her dna is there for it to use on him on the trip to the "past"
also: delenn is a direct descendant of valen. imagine knowing your greatx40 grandpa for all those years?
@@this.is.a.username is real question is... did she know that at the battle of the line? how many letters were sent out and when? if your going to send out letters into the future, why only the 2 or 3 that we saw and heard about?
babylon 1-3 were destroyed by bombs during construction.
In Valen's Name ...
We live for the one we die for the one.
@@ianjardine7324 So say we all, this is the way.
on the minbar the Vorlon said about Sinclair - he is a vicious circle, he returns to the beginning. Now it's clear why
Back in the day, it was pretty rare to follow a series whose story - despites many changes during its five years from the original plan - had so many pieces slowly fed to you until you discover they were part of a much larger, totally epic, puzzle. It's also a part of the charm B5 has.
Babylon 5 was such an amazing experience. I had no internet in the day and I was going from new episode to new episode without having any idea what to expect. It was really intense and then there were the season cliffhangers. I enjoy current days shows as well, but it does feel some of the magic of the '90's has been lost.
I'd honestly rewatch the episode you got most of the vital points but it is a detail heavy one with ties to multiple previous storyline's and hints at future developments. The whole series is a masterclass in long form storytelling with threads which run from the pilot all the way to the finale and this episode is one of the crucial junctions where seemingly throw away hints burried in the B plots of "filler" episodes take on a whole new meaning and just because a story or plot seems to be resolved doesn't mean ot wont crop up again taking on a whole new dimension.
4:18, unless, we're talking Quantum Leap. Sheridan's consciousness in his Future self.
Yes, Sinclair, Sheridan and Delenn are all The One. Sinclair the Worker, Sheridan the Warrior and Delenn the Religious.
That isnt actually the reference, it ties to the role with the Rangers... but much more to come about that later. With Entilzha (Ranger One) vsnishing, someone else has to take over.
JMS really wears his influences on his sleeves; and this is Heinleinian time travel: all time travel that happens in the B5 universe is deterministic. It happens because that's the way it happened, time travel included. Thus, for example, no one in our timeline ever succeeds in going back in time and killing or aiding Hitler, because he shot himself in a bunker. Or perhaps it was a time traveler who snuck Zachary Taylor the poisoned cherries; got away with that one smoothly.
In valenn’s name, what an episode!
Thankfully I'd taped these 2 and Babylon Squared back in the 90s so rewatched all 3 straight away. As for the time jumps, it's a ride for sure but don't worry. Payoffs for several of the lines uttered (and things dropped) are all coming. These reactions are so honest like my mates and I at the time. Love it! ❤
It's so fun hearing extremely wild theories thrown about, *all* of which are wrong. =)
You guys are overthinking Deleen appearing in the suit. She saw the suit became empty after Sheriden disappeared. So when he appeared again, she gave him her time stabilizer, and she took his suit. So from that point on it was her who was appearing and disappearing in the suit (like we saw in Season 1) and it was her that saw Zatharus as well. The only main thing that was changed from Season 1 was when Delenn put her hand on Sinclair. This was because they had to change that dynamic of the story when the actor for Sinclair couldn't continue the show after Season 1. More answers are coming for some of the new things you saw as well.
She could have still put her hand on his shoulder. It’s not like she kissed him or anything, but her dress in completely different from the red ruffled sleeve seen in the original and I guess it didn’t matter to them at that point.
I think they put the hand in to the original scene because, obviously, they couldn’t show her face and they wanted her to be “present” in the scene as opposed to a disembodied voice. I never liked the original shot as it awkwardly framed.
the beginning of the story (valen)... the middle of the story (delenn) and the end of the story (sheridan).
what an irony - in the foundations of today's Minbari civilization lies the morality of one man!
Jeffrey David Sinclair. Valen.
The son, David Sheridan, is named after both Jeff and John's father.
Also, Delenn saw John kept drifting, so she put her undamaged stabilizer on him, put him out of the suit and put the suit on herself. Later, Zathras gives her a fixed stabilizer and she locks on the correct time.
Amazing episode! And more answers are given in season 4, in "Atonement".
What happened in Londo's palace in the future is actually told in the canon "Legions of Fire" trilogy books by Peter David.
You now know Sheridan and delenn are a couple and have a son. You know Sinclair is Valen and united the Minbari classes. You know future Londo is a slave to outside forces who have enslaved the Centauri. Good episode.
Plot hole; A thousand years in the future when the Minbari encountered humans (Minbari war starts), despite living and working aboard Babylon 4 (as a base), with all of the crates, signs, etc... with human markings, they didn't recognize any of the ship markings from the destroyed human ships, outposts, stations or dead crews?
Did Dukhat know about Babylon 4 but died before he could prevent the war that had to happen?
Not a plot hole it's a Bootstrap Paradox. They didn't steal B4 until after they met humans a 1000 years in the future, but of course they wouldn't have been able to steal it if they hadn't already stolen it.
But to address your main point... they did know, or a least a few on the Grey Council knew about it.
Hey lads ! It's absolutely fine to feel the way you did .. and you are lads that come from a point of modern culture and availalbility .... this RIGHT HERE BACK THEN .... my head went dandelion style
At the battle of the line they stopped the war because they found Valens soul in Sinclair. They thought his soul was reborn. It was not that was just Valen lol
I have seen War Without End Parts One and Two at least a dozen times .. and i Still plan a Rewatch ...
Delenn is the middle (The One Who Is) because she was the one who heeded the prophecy, and who prepared the Forces of Light for the current battle against the Shadows - there would be no Rangers without her, no Whitestar fleet, etc.
Sheridan is The One Who Will Be, because he becomes the one who sets up the next epic story in the galaxy: Seasons 4 and 5 focus more on this...
So I figured out WHY there was a change with one of the final shots. In Babylon Squared, Sinclair takes off his space helmet and looks old, then Delenn touches his shoulder and says "it's time to go" hinting at a more intimate relationship. Then in War Without End, Delenn doesn't touch his shoulder.
That's because in the original Babylon Prime timeline, Sinclair and Delenn do form a relationship and they were supposed to steal Babylon4 to fight the Shadows After Babylon 5 gets destroyed by another enemy. They bring B4 to the future and fight the Shadows for the next 5 year story arc.
None of those are spoilers. This didn't happen because Michael O'Hare got sick and the entire storyline had to be compressed greatly. Also, Valen was never mentioned in Season 1, so they had to build up to that backstory during Season 2 and Season 3 to give Sinclair that out.
Babylon 5 does not get blowed up.
I think the reason they don't show Delenn touching Sinclair's arm in WWE is simply her season 3 costume didn't match what she wore in that scene in Babylon Squared.
Valen was mentioned in Babylon Squared. Possibly earlier.
Think about the One Who Was/Is/Will be as a point about who is running the show as the great One leader at those times. Delenn has really been running the show in the present. Sheridan will have bigger days to come.
It's my belief that one of the Vorlons with Valen (Babylon 4) was Kosh, the other may have been the Vorlon who replaced Kosh?
I feel the changing into the blue spacesuit from Sheridan to Delenn was an editing error (scene cut out)?
This might be my favorite episode in B5. According to lore, Peter Jurasik (Londo) asked JMS for a pound of whatever he was smoking when he wrote this episode.
Recently somebody explained the original B5 plan in a youtube video. Sorry that I don't remember who they were and can't give credit to that person, they did a great service.
The plan was that the Shadows would be a stepping stone to the great antagonists of the show - the minbari.
My source wouldn't explain, but I think the minbari would devolve into a civil war - maybe the warrior caste against the religious and worker castes, with the rest of the younger races caught in the middle. At the end of the series, the minbari would destroy B5, as we saw in the flash forwards. They'd need to get themselves a new base - B4. It'd be the launching point for a new five years series, Babylon Prime (B4 renamed).
Delenn would be married to Sinclair by that point, which is why she was more intimate, putting her hand i his shoulder, in Babylon Squared than in this version of the episode.
Unfortunatley, Michael O'Hare's disease got in the way, and JMS needed to retool the show around a new lead, Sheridan, and the rest is history.
So there had to be very long cap between Sinclair-Valen and Delenn when there was no "the one".
Thanks!
Thanks 😀
Rewatch Babylon Squared and these two again 😁
Lando predicted his death by jackar season 1
That's Londo and G'Kar.
He did indeed. And we saw a dream of it in season 2. In season 3 we see it get some context. Masterful storytelling.
Yeah. I hope you guys go back and re-watch this series. I get that you have to react for content on your channel, but I think you missed what was happening because you were to wrapped up in trying to figure out what was coming next and looking to confirm you were correct, that you missed the deeper story.
Not sure if you guys are planning to film a second watch through of the series after you finish the first. There are certainly details to pickup in retrospect when rewatching, from the pilot onwards.
An there's the problem with fanboys and their theories. Always trying to tie it with their theories instead of just watching and paying attention to what is shown. War without end isn't just the title. It's the whole primus of the show.
In some ways, I think Sheridan should have been the 'One who Is', and Delenn as 'the One who Will Be'.
As that might work rather neater, for later.
Still, the basic approach is still similar.
Nope, they are the right way round. Remember the Ranger's saying.
Because all of the previous Babylon stations were sabotaged, Babylon 4 had parts meant for all three previous stations. It was also larger than Babylon 5 as a consequence of all the excess parts 😮
It also could move under its own power. It was essentially a ship.
Also there is a new CUTE looking card game that might help you build a new brain muscle for wrapping stuff from different angles :) it looks silly, but do not be fooled the beast's appearance :) played Faraway yet ?
Delenn started the current events by choosing Sinclair as Commander of Babylon 5 to begin with. So she is the one who is.
Micro Spoiler, you will find out a little more in that regard by watching the Babylon 5 movie 'In the Beginning', which you now can safely see without spoilers.
Sinclair being the Worker Cast of the 3 fits as he build the Rangers twice. He just finished building them and he has been building them 1,000 years in the past.
Sinclair is the past... The great Minbari leader Valen who lead them to victory over the shadows 1000 years ago.
Dalenn is the present... The preparation for the coming war and the fulfillment of prophecy. The middle is everything we've seen up to this point.
Sheridan is the end... Now his roll begins.
There are two blue suits. Dalenn gives her stabilizer to Sheridan and takes his suit. There are little differences between the original B4 episode and this two parter. One could call them mistakes... and there probably are a few... One we know about is that they lost the original dress Dalenn was wearing the first time so couldn't reproduce the scene where she touches Sinclair's shoulder... But one could also call it the mutable and malleable nature of the future... the future is not 100% set.
They explained that people are getting visions of themselves in the past/future. There isn't another Sheridan elsewhere. You're looking at him right there. The Sheridan of our present is merely temporarily in control.
Getting closer, but still far to go.
Sinclair was, Delenn is, Sheridan will be.
Yeah, this episode takes a few watches to catch everything.
Guys, it's Garibaldi with a hard "G". It's not "Jeribaldi"!!!
They know. It's a long running in-joke.
The B looks a bit like a 3 if look closely at the symbol its a 4 superimposed on a B
Very minor spoiler: you dropped in a shot of Bryan Cranston roughly 11 mins into this video.
Bryan actually appears in the show in season 4. No other deets :)
A question: Is Delenn Sinclaire's descendant?!
If that turns out to be so, it will be shown at some point in the show. Watch, enjoy, and learn, one way or the other.
🎶 It’s only a matter of time...🎶 #Ham4B5
I think the little differences make it so that this time through the time loop will work. We know from scifi time travel that doing exactly the same thing doesn't work, they have to do something different to get out of the loop.
No, Sinclair is Vailan.
.....⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.......
In Confessions And Lamentations, Delenn tells a story where she got lost as a child and had a vision of a glowing figure telling her that she wouldn't come to harm. Whilst it was probably a Vorlon, I always hoped it would've been Sheridan whilst he's time jumping
The easy way to explain the time differences is this. It's because Sinclair is not in charge of B5, the whole timeline of the shadows invading B5 under Sinclair and them losing was changed when he was called to the Minbari homeworld. The new Ivanova timeline was created when Sheridan took over. It also explains the differences in the episode vs the season 1 one, as the two timelines have diverged.
The two vorlons were Kosh ans Ul'Kesh. Ul'Kesh will become the new Kosh. As all vorlons are Kosh. And as for the answer to the "One" question/point Zathras explains it very well, Sheridan fought the last battle, Delenn fights the current war and Sheridan is the leader in the next story, that all leads to the next great story. Garibaldi couldn't go to B4 the second time is because the aging effect would have killed him.
