Simultaneously, NHSRCL should co-operate with NHAI and acquire land for a hsr line between Pune and Bangalore as well. That would be peak efficiency
That would be fantastic. However, HSR should pass through Dharwad and Belgavi to serve passengers traffic to and from those cities.

All future highways should have extra space for pillars to build future maglevs and High speed trains ..
Well it's a good suggestion, however HSR alignment requires the majority to be a straight path to be efficient which will not be obtained if it's done along a road alignment..
@@acousticengineers1717 Doesn't mean literally parallel to highway. It just means straight line segments nearest to Highway. If done now, will be easiest and most efficient.

Reason this expressway is planned because..
1.Floods in Kolhapur.l,In 2019 because of floods, Pune Banglore Highway was clossed,India faced loss in thousand crores rupees.. So, this expressway will pass through Sangli district especially drought region..
2.Ghats section,This Expressway will not have much ghat section.Therefore,It will reduce time travel and accidents..
Note-In Sangli district it will have interchange with Shaktipeeth Expressway ..

We should add a spur to Udupi/Managluru as well. In addition to serving a major population centre, it adds faster road connectivity between defence establishments in Pune and Mangalore area.
This spur highway to Mangalore can also be extended on the other side, to connect with the Surat-Chennai expressway.

Sad it does not go through Belgaum, Dharwad, Hubli and Davangere.
Hopefully, it will reduce the traffic on Chitradurga-Belgaum stretch.
That could be accomplished by short spurs from the highway to the urban centers.
@sowmitriswamy6718 unfortunately, the route of the express highway does not go through/near the same cities as the existing route for the major portion of the road. The old road would be better to go to these cities. It is mostly 6-lane but access control is weak.
It is a good thing, it has reduced the overall distance between Pune and Blr from 840 to 720 Km.
It's already NH4 available. This will be the new highway to reduce the traffic on the existing one and also time.
That's what good and interesting that it's not again going by same NH 48 route where already cities connected and getting industrial development. They planned new Green Field road connectivity to new places which are important for their socio economic development. Else only Hubli Belagavi Davangere Tumkur keep developing not other neglected parts of the state.

Why not make it a double decker expressway - like Railways on the lower deck and road on upper deck. Railways can start a high speed non stop train between these 2 cities

It also connects the Tumakuru Industrial Node now coming up under Chennai Bangalore Chitradurga Industrial Corridor and planned second kIAL( to de congest present KIAL)near Vasanthanaraspur near Tumkur Industrisl node. Super project

We had travelled on30/1/24 from poona to belgaum by suv on this under construction road on the way to Goa. We have faced lot of problems in driving on under construction road. Really this would be a fantastic road. Thanks to Gadkari ji and government of India.
The South Indian cities should have a a dedicated expressways.

What happened to Hyderabad-Bangalore widening project?
National Highway No. 61 from Kalyan(Mumbai)to Nirmal(telangana), a very important two-lane highway to Visakhapatnam, should be converted in six-lane expressway.This will connect ports on the east and west coasts of India. Marathwada will flourish industrially.
- This expressway will reduce the pressure on National Highway No. 65.
- Traffic going to Visakhapatnam port via Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Hyderabad, Vijayawada will be reduced.
Why couldn't this be merged with the Surat - Ahmednagar - Solapur - Kurnool - Chennai Expressway ?

Sad Hubli, Dharwad, Belgaum, Kolhapur & Karad are not included. Which are major cities & industrial areas.
For those cities also exit & entries will be there... For long routes straight line is better... Connecting all cities will become a gig jag way

I challenge Indian Road developers & any party politicians on development of city roads. No one in India can do the proper development of City roads. Now presently the city road conditions are worse than the hill station man accessed ways. Now understand where are we?

Im a regular commuter of NH48 specially between Belgaum to Bengaluru!! I see this stretch almost under utilised apart from Tumkur to Bengaluru. So, when this is under utilised I'm just not understanding the need for one more Greenfield highway for the same route???
But Pune to Kolhapur is super busy and mostly heavily utilised. Alternate route will Ease congestion on existing highway
Brother that NH 48 is lengthy route with many speed constraints for Bengaluru to Pune and Mumbai. That's old British survey planned according to their business connections in olden days. Now this new green field highway is new short route for Bengaluru to Pune Mumbai with good speed as road lies away from populated areas.

why bangalore-kolkata hyderabad-kolkata chennai-kolkata routes are not seeing any expressway or bullet train or high speed vande bharat sleeper??
Reason is Business and Development. The cities which are growing rapidly getting pointed out where many ppl travel between those cities by air, rail and public or private road transport. Whereas Kolkata was one such city in past but unfortunately it's been out of race now . Bengaluru Hyderabad Pune Chennai Mumbai these cities are futuristic one Even Delhi without Gurugram Noida can't cm in list keeping it's NCR and capital of India status it's getting good infra development.

The Road alignment is perfect and same or little variation of 5-10 km on both sides. Because what i got information from insider who did survey in karnataka said road crosses kerur reaches Near Abbigeri Naregal and crosses NH 67 it never touches any village or city like u mentioned Nargund Rona Koppal etc. Interchanges will be constructed for highways crossing and bypasses or road connections can be done for big cities residing nearby this Greeb field highway. Need the right information of road alignment with crossing of existing highways and interchanges location especially in karnataka state..

When it is going to start,we are listening since last four years
There is need to build expressway between all major cities of india
All tier 2 -3 cities must be connected with highways
Bharatmala is the umbrella program that is dedicated for this task
It currently takes about 11-12 hrs

Sir, pune to Belgaum Distance 340 Kms, and Bengaluru to Belgaum 508 Kms. Total is 848 kms. Total 148 Kilometres will Reduced? Is it Correct?
Pune to Bengaluru showing 839 km in maps and new green field highway is 703 km so total around 136 km ~140km reducing
