Karnataka’s largest & India's third largest airport is Bangalore's Kempegowda International Airport. Its new terminal T2 was constructed recently at a cost of ₹5,000 Crore and handles more than 3.2 crore passengers per year.

As a resident of Bengaluru i would suggest for a 2nd domestic airport instead of a another international airport in the south of Bengaluru some where around Magdi or bidadi or Kanakapura ...if its done Bengaluru will have 5 airports hal,Yelahanka airbase,jakkur aerodrome,kial,and new proposed airport ❤ ofcourse only two of them will operate civilian flights kial and new Airport

Already Chennai starts to build a second International Airport in Parandur . It's nearly 35 to 45 KM away from the Chennai City . It will open at 2027-28

Jewar Airport in UP is 80kms away from IGI, Delhi. Only highway exists connecting the two.

Bangalore Airport is actually within the city limits, not outside. The Bangalore Rural area extends about 100 km from the city center. BMTC bus services are available from MG Road to Chikkaballapura, showing the city's expansion. Even beyond 100 km from Bangalore, the cost of a 30x40 plot remains around 20 lakhs.
As of now devanahalli (Bengaluru airport) is in Bengaluru rural district, but yeah just like Delhi NCR Bengaluru is expanding more towards north as greater Bengaluru because of BIAL

the worst part is there is no internet for expats who reach airport with their mobile numbers of the country they stay, you reach at morning 7pm to take 10.30 flight to dubai and your dubai number does not get internet and you start to find the counter where in the counter is there but there is no person to help you get connected to internet, the same you reach dubai airport with your Indian number and the moment you get out of plan your mobile gets connected to free wifi, I don't know when this airport will get internet

It's because of airlines and airport handling companies that 150 km rule was followed. They don't want competition but as india is developing so there is need for air flights hence the rule is been broken

It was specifically by KIAL for 30 years. The 150 rule will vanish by default in 2038. If any new airport has to take off, they need permission from KIAL. But, the best case would be to partner KIAL with any additional airport closer to the other side of the City.

IAF is not needed at tge core of the city. Airforce needs to move its operations away from old HAL base and shift to Yelanka. completely.
- The "majority" of dometic flights can be shifted to this old airport. Messing up existing kempegowda while Phase 2 of T2 is under progress won't be sustainable with persistent C& D waste + Expanding/ Creating new airport.
