This kit would have been an awesome gift to kick off summer as a young child. Imagination over practicality. Uh, but the matches would have gotten us into trouble LoL!
Awesome seeing you making vids. I spotted the NLD patch. Awesome!! I have a very old survival kit. Never opened it. It was my mothers. She used to go hiking/fishing/mountaineering etc. I think it is from the ‘50/60. So pretty cool. I don’t think I will ever open it. Some what of a emotional value. I definitely want to see a vid on your own kit you made. I love vids like that. I carry all kinds of stuff with me on a daily basis. My EDC bag. I would say not what I thought it would hold..out of all, I think that besides the matches the nails, safety pins and razor are very important pieces of gear that I had not considered adding to an EDC. Not a good deal on the stick matches. Heck Yeah I would like to see your own kit!!
I’d like to see your kit, I just bought a bunch of stuff to make my own survival fishing kit, but Im interested in you take on it.. I’m in Southern CA so its a bit different here haha ( behind enemy lines)
You don;t put that Coghlans kit in your big kit !!! You've missed the point of this kit. It does NOT go in your pack - this little kit is the one that you tuck away in your jacket pocket and forget about forever. Or at least until the day you lose or misplace your daypack or backpack, and that 's the place you have and carry your real full featured survival kit that you made, heck for that matter your backpack IS the survival kit, right? Keep one of these in all your winter jacket pockets, your car coat, your sledding snow /ski suit and your hunting camo jacket, that's where they belong.

Handy little kit to add to a larger kit. Bummer on the stick matches but all in all not bad!
