Why on Earth would someone ask a 70 year old if they had read Twilight.
lol
Because that's what the dumb Media wants to know lmao
well if they're dumb hoe...
Cos that's the only book she knows about 💀
Especially when he already told you he doesn't like science fiction books.
i love that he reads because he likes it, and not to impress others.
me too but its a shame i have such a leaky memory, it sounds so cool probably could impress a lot of women if i only could rember 5 percent of what i read.
Theres no way people read books to impress other people

Imagine the stories this man can craft after reading 5,000 books.

But he’s speed reading. Speed reading isn’t proper reading because you don’t allow the words to sink in. Quality over quantity
Whoa, those interview questions were just so poor
I know they should of tested his knowledge
shit journalism
Wow, thank you for saying that. I mean the intro flew over "when he retired he stopped drinking and started reading." Um, there's a novel right there. He says, he doesn't like love stories and science fiction. Next interviewer question, "Have you read Harry Potter?" He says, "No." Next question, "What about Twilight?"
what a funny man, I love him.
Kyoyin Shirui Why am I seeing you in every comments section?

Reading A Book Vs Watching The Movie Is Really Different!! 🤔 Reading Puts You In The Story And You're Imagination Takes Over Which Is Fascinating!!! 😱
You can tell this gentleman is truly smart just by the way he reacts and talks.
Lol I love it. Classic addict (for lack of a better word) behaviour. Us addicts don’t just do things….we really really really really do things.
Do you tell me reading is doing something uhhh?
Amazing
He is me … I hate romance and sci fi.
I also don’t like fantasy 😂😂and as a teen girl, this is the exact reason why I have to skip the “teen section” in the bookstore because that’s all that is there lmao
What do you like to read?
My hero
Great man
It is not about how many books you read .its about the level of your consciousness and wisdom.i read a lot in the past but i decided to read less and focus more on the reality and contemplate what is going on around me.
Amen.
James Patterson is quite good, I love his Maximum Rode series
Reading James Patterson is really an awesome experience as a matter of fact. Try to read, "Suzanne's diary for Nicholas" it's quiet good. Though as against to what he said, it's a love story.
You should try one of John Steinbeck’s novels about the Hamilton family living in the rural sides of Salinas Valley.
Hes 70? He looks and aounds way older
My dad is 76 years old he is like me know before he gave up reading he bought or had 2 bin bags worth of books physical format that like me I am 4q year old and I have 288 books and my dad can read a book in couple of weeks and I can read books once a week and my mum can read 50 pages a day for me some big chapters books take me a month to read my dads dad never put a book down and so I think that’s how you read alo more you read the more you progress right now I’m on 48-50 books a year.
Has he read Sherlock Holmes? I love Sherlock Holmes.
He should read that!
I love that series 😍
He's just like me. I don't like romance and science fiction either. I see so much of myself in him. I guess that's my future self. Keep it up Buddy!
I have a feeling that this the kind of people our books over here comes from... I only buy preloved books cause they're re very cheap and most are still in very good condition. They sell 1 here in my country for basically 1 dollar and I like reading the heartfelt notes and annotations in them but I'm pretty positive they came from homes like this, from on old people like this dude... nevertheless I'm sorta grateful that at least I can have them for cheap and they dont get to just be dumped. Most of them are also not in publication anymore so lots of vintage books.
Inspiration
I am also a reader. But only 1 book in a month.
I don't like love stories either.
They're too mushy?
What to learn from this video: to read fast, put yourself as a character inside the book .. next video

We all know what books the interviewer like
Yes but can yo read any book with 1259 pages a day like two of them and read word by word from back to front of the book?
Such dumb questions as always, i'd love to ask this man if he ever read The Great Books of the Western World collection, and if not, invite him to. He'd love it for sure.
Probably the secret is not waste time on YT like i do. I watch videos about people reading instead of actually reading 😅
I like the moment hè was asked about Harry Potter or twillight. Haha Funny moment!!!!
Questions and observations. If he's a speed reader, then 5000 isn't an impressive number. Also, if you are a speed reader, what happens if you read something really funny, do they laugh late sor as to not interrupt the flow?

Bruh I can't even read a book without falling asleep
You need a book that is interesting
read first thing in the morning
The thing is what's the use of speed-reading if you can't digest it? cab speed readers remember what they have just read?
Yessir, and I would strongly advise you to take a speed reading course/program
Nah.. Not just one, but plenty and read at least 30 books about speed reading.. Seriously
I tryed speed reading and I still can’t figure how to remember what I read, or maybe it’s because I’m partially sighted or maybe it’s because I have a light learning disability and yet I don’t know why o can’t if I can listen to an audiobook on CZcams at 2x speed and understand it and hear it at normal Kate, my eyes get lethargic after reading 2 pages and after a while I get drowsy iv had that my whole life and that’s why I can’t get throught books quicker because iv allways have to lest them.
Do you think I can’t speed read because I’m partially sighted and or if I have a learning disability but still can read?
@@paulinetaylor1682 Nah, that's impossible
Let's see, there might be some mistakes you're probably doing:
1. You aren't doing the technique(s) right
2. You are TOO focused on the technique. It means you're constantly checking if you're doing it right instead of actually understanding the reading
3. You are struggling TOO MUCH in understanding. In other words, you are too focused on checking if you're focused (yup)
4. You aren't using proper reading material to practice
5. You aren't either warming-up or doing drills
Tips:
1. There are LOTS of techniques, that's why reading books about speed reading is gonna change you way of reading drastically 👌
2. You need to understand that if you put more focus on the technique, you lose comprehension, so just let it be an unconscious process + yiu'll handle this with 'drills'
3. Again, just let the words get to your mind, don't force your comprehension
4. You can't speed read cookbooks, recepies, philosophy books and that kind of material, that's just not good, why would you even speed rrad those? You need to analyze very carefully
You might not want to speed reading fiction books, it's optional, you WILL understand but you will sacrfice emotions shared from the book, from the author. However, speed reading isn't only about reading fast, but also comprehending faster, formulating/processing faster, imagining faster, etc.
5. As we warm up before exercising, working out, same works with the muscules from the faces, from the eyes, ALSO, there are excellent 'drills'
A very good book to start is "Robot speed reading", it's excellent 👍
If you have any more doubts, just lemme know
@@joses.4078 I forgot to say I was allways taught by my reader of a dad to read word from word front to back go at my own pace and take it in to fully digest a book, I feel like my reading pace is to slow and I need to lead faster eka speed read because I’m buying books faster than I can read them, I just love reading, and now I have 293 unread books and I’m like buying 4 or 5 books a week I haven’t got because I know there there and I love reading.
But how does he speed read??
You could think that he got a speed program to read that fast. Naah, repetition makes the master
I don’t think he reads particularly quickly, it’s more that he has devoted all his time to reading. If you were to spend 8 hours reading every day you would _easily_ complete at least 200 books in a year.
Also, the books you like are easier to read. I.e. as a child I’d read a book by R.L. Stine or _Catcher in the Rye_ in just a single day, sometimes I still manage to read an entire book by Jo Nesbo in a day. On the other hand, it took me more than a week of intense reading to finish _Turn of the Screw_ and it felt like that book just goes on forever.

I hate trendy books meaning all "book readers" somewhat have to buy certain books that are trending to feel like they belong like for example Harry Porter books, GOT, Twilight and other epic fantasy books. Don't get me wrong I actually enjoy such kind of books but a lot of people buy it because their youtuber told them to or their friends told them

Bet a lot of what he's read is utter garbage or generic, and the things he has read he's quickly forgot. I'm more impressed he'd go through reading this much without cultivating a sense of selectivity; 10 quality books over a thousand generic ones any day.
He reads for entertainment and knowledge of history. I keep forgetting a lot of you folks today grew up with technology, so you really don’t what it is to use your imagination.
@@evanwalker3782 Yes, I'll let him read his 74 thriller books in peace np and *two* books a day, but don't tell me there's no imagination in play when reading difficult literature: the Homeric epics, Zhuangzi, Spinoza, and Kant for example. Btw, I'd love to see him read two books of such a caliber having retained a basic grasp the very same day. Surely, there's a difference here, and that's what I meant by cultivating a sense of selectivity.

Bullshit! I don't believe this story! 8 years are 2,920 days. And you must read1.71 books per day.
Ok, well it can be very achievable, considering you have 8 hours of free time , which most humans do have in a day, he uses to read, and not to brag here but I could probably read 2 books in that time, and i barely read, therefore it's very achievable for him, however how much if what he reads is another question, if he reads every one of them books and he takes notes to remember the valuable information, then he may struggle heavily, but it's definitely more than possible.
People who read books are weirdos
