      sophia it depends on the book. I could read a 20 pages book everyday or even a 100 or 200 pages book, but I rather read really long thick novels so it takes me weeks if not months to finish a book depending on how complicated it is...

      @@misspisces1000 Yeah it may be weird for most students and people but for people who enjoy reading it's not that unusual, even for a kid. I mean it's a bit hard to read a book with 500 pages every day but it's not a problem if it only has 200-300 pages.

    • @srishtysharma
      @srishtysharma Před 3 lety

      @@EaJdn Frankly speaking, as long as the book is interesting 500 pages doesn't mean anything. I've read 800-900 paged books without even realising they were this long in a minimum of two-three days. So the thing is, as long as you are reading an interesting book, nothing can really get you off it

    How stupid are the people in this town where a 7th grader reading a relatively short book every day is astounding. It’s actually quite sad when you look at it. Children have been portrayed to hate reading over the past few decades so much so that the thought of a seventh grader reading a book a day astounding. What this child is showing is an interest in reading rather than video games or sports and is just another hobby such as the ones previously listed, a hobby that has become increasingly unpopular at an alarming rate. Basically, what I’m trying to say is that what he is doing isn’t brilliant or an indication of genius, but rather just an interest in an unpopular (but extremely beneficial) hobby.

      I think it's better too read just 2 books a months than one every day, because you will have the time to really focus on the book instead of just running through it in order to be able to say that you read one book a day.

    What- I thought reading a book a day was normal…my books typically have 3-400 pages but I enjoy reading them I don’t think it’s a reason for an entire news story my current book has 849 pages and I won’t get it done today especially bc I have 5 siblings but it’s not hard just reading regularly will get you to be able to read faster

      How slow do you read?

    • @Mikestriken
      @Mikestriken Před rokem

      @@Sarawarawara- Better question how many words are in the books you read?
      The books I read average at 2000 words per chapter with 2000 chapters in each book (CNs go brrr)
      so about 4,000,000 words in each book. (I used a word counter to fact check this)
      Let's say you can read 10 words per second (at that speed you're probably just having your eyes brush past it, you aren't reading)
      Then that means you can read
      10 (words/seconds) * 60 (second/minutes) * 60 (minutes/hour) * 24 (hours/day) = 864,000 words/day
      That is 21.6% of a book completed.
      Timing myself I read about 10 words per 2.63 seconds
      Assuming no sleep and I read all out as hard as I can for 24 hours
      10/2.63 (words/seconds) * 60 (second/minutes) * 60 (minutes/hour) * 24 (hours/day) = 328,517 words/day
      That is 8.21% of a book completed.
      How fast do you read? Do you even read? Or do you just look at the page before turning it?

      @Sarawarawara- Před rokem +1

      @@Mikestriken I don’t really know by word count but by pages I generally read books In the 300-500 page range, on the lower end I can finish those In a day If I have nothing else to do that day In particular and A LOT of children my age who love reading can read multiple books In a day and finish within a remarkably short time and definitely actually read the books. One book In a day definitely doesn’t seem that unrealistic, especially If It’s normally In the 200-300 page range stated In the video (although looking at the books the kid is seen with In the video It’s definitely more of the 400-600+ range).
      I don’t understand how someone actually being able to read an entire book In a day is so surprising to you? Haven’t you come across people like that In your life?? However If you read really long meaty novels obviously one book a day is an unrealistic goal

      @@Sarawarawara-
      I read a lot of fantasy novels,
      Wheel of Time
      Coiling Dragon
      Overlord
      Warlock of the Magus World
      stuff like that
      The smallest book I've read would be
      Stop! Friendly Fire! has 707,192 words in it (converting from epub -> .txt and using a word counter on it)
      The smallest short story I've read is
      Roadside Picknic which has 60,469 words.
      You know what fine, I'll relent, that size is about the same size as the old course work books we had to read for english, Great Gatsby and stuff like that. But those really are kind of short stories. I guess I've underestimated the size of the books I'm into XD.

    Yes it’s cool that he does that but it’s not EXTRAORDINARY cause a lot of ppl do it and don’t go in the news
    And y is reading not normalized it’s like if you read there are these ‘expectations’ to read a lot of books. But if you don’t you’ll just say not ‘readings not cool’ well at least that is the expectation
