- In this video I take a close up look at the brand new Winmau Michael van Gerwen Absolute darts. These are the 90% tungsten version from the MvG Design line up. A great set of darts from Winmau! Enjoy the video.
That's the craziest throwing routine I have ever seen, but damn accurate. If I tried that I probably wouldn't be able to hit the board let alone pull off a 180. That's impressive
I have these and the Authentic’s and in my opinion you have picked the best set m8.

Got Daryl gurney prism 23g steeltip 90% tungsten darts at the weekend,feel great 👍 and I’m also throwing better than I ever have before.
Winmau is definitely making some great stuff. I've always liked most Winmau darts 👍

The Aspire darts are really good, bit thicker barrel but the grip is fantastic would say medium grip. Should look at these as well 👍🏻

I think he will be using the Authentic dart on a 90% barrel. I compare this to Rory or Tiger switching to Nike golf clubs at the peak of their dominance, if the price is right....no matter how much you struggle at first, you will play with the equipment that pays you the money.... I think he will struggle for a little while as he gets all sorted out and figured out, even with the head start on it for the last few months.

I bought the 23grams XQmax MVGs a few days ago, but I can't throw them straight with the standard stems and flight. There upward in the board or just totally sideways sometimes. Any advise on some different stem/flight?
I was meaning to buy those myself as I saw them on sale at Darts Corner for $27usd. Might have been $34, I forget. Anyway, you could try an intermediate length stem and maybe some smaller flights? But to be honest it almost sounds like an inconsistent release issue. Basically just a best guess though.

No I loved it...... always liked a lot of grip as rear is gripper... just if anything took a while to get used to the weight of the dart in the throw... normally throw a 22g ( got the absolutes in a 22g aswell) But these felt a light 22g. But now I have got that and put on my pro grip intermediate stems they are going great...... just love that grip..... just more for me than usual ring grip or even the pixel grip and so well made

The "nose cone" is just more aesthetic the on the other mvg design darts, isnt it? Would go perfectly with a storm point too i guess :P
Yes, the tapered nose cone is very nice on these darts. I'd go with a smooth Winmau Freeflo point 👍
I picked up wright 20 gram euro element in November and the grip has wore off already 😔. Great review as always thank you

Diamond grip. Like a heavy galvanize. So sad. Wish they would come in 22 gram. Only 20 and 24. 😔

I just noticed that u use a Mission Samurai Dart Board. What do u think about it? Is it good, because I maybe want to buy one when my Winmau Blade 5 is useless.
I did an update video on it a little while ago. These are pics I took for someone else yesterday... imgur.com/a/Cjapx1X It's holding up decently enough after 4 months but as with ANY board you have to rotate, rotate, rotate! Especially when it's brand new. If you do that any board should hold up well.

Cheers. I use the Cosmo carbon stems and Superkite flights. They can be seen in the last video I did about the Laserdart. I was going to show them here but wanted to keep the video Winmau related.

What #stem length are they and how do you like the locked flight vs spinning ? Is there much movement in the spinning flights ? Thanks.
I did a video about spinning stems that's worth a look. Imo one of the biggest gimmicks in all of darts. Avoid! Also, I use a #3 locked stem

Worldwide Darts I have them in 23g, their the lightest dart I’ve thrown and I love them. They feel really good. No 180’s tho 🤷🏻♂️😂

Either the Authentic's or it could quite possibly be a "special" set made from 90% tungsten that looks like his old set.
@@WorldwideDarts Interesting. Where did you find out about this 1 off set? I've only just noticed the Winmau off the shelf Authentics are 85% tungsten so you could be right.
@@suj69 It's just a theory I have and I could be totally wrong but it wouldn't surprise me. MvG old darts were very worn and really thin. I can't see him switching to 85%. Not that there's anything wrong with them quality wise but the dimensions might be too thick for him.
I think he'll use the Authentics because they are so close to what he has been using.

So which darts did MVG end up using?
Looked like the Authentic and I'm pretty sure it was... but... I'm not ruling out that it was a special one off set made by Winmau. Maybe a 90-95% tungsten set that looks like the Authentic's
Worldwide Darts it definitely looks like the authentic with him doing some mod work on the painted section towards the stem. He definitely took the paint off, maybe sanded them down a bit
Most likely too grippy for me but it is a good looking dart nonetheless. That coating gives it a vintage look. Nice review.

They come off fingers nice? If u look mvg throw, i think he holds the stem not dart
They actually do. It's weird, it almost feels like you're holding a rock. These darts have a very different feel to them.

I just can’t get behind being fed darts branded by a pro player who has absolutely no intentions of throwing those darts. It’s why I never did buy a set of Q Max. Just my personal opinion but it’s right up there with widows “made in the USA” claim. It’s a shame because a couple of these models look right for me
I 100% agree with what you said. I'm not a fan of reviewing a dart that a player won't actually use. But there's a slight chance he might use these and if not he will for sure use the Authentic Winmau version. So it's really a bit different from XQ Max where he never used their darts.
He will start with a set of winmau and as soon as they get in his head he will be back to his old darts. And I can’t say I blame him but I’m not going to be a pig at the trough for his “Line” of darts

@@John_B. I'm east coast USA and everyone I know and talked to... we all said Win-Ma, including me. Then one day I was talking to head of sales at Winmau and told me I was pronouncing it wrong in my videos. I never knew.
Your throwing action really needs work. It’s consistent but very sloppy keep that elbow up and release the dart faster.
Glen Durrant also drops his elbow and he does alright. Perfect throws are overrated imo. But my action was due to a horrible battle with dartitis.
