MVG proving that when he's on form he's untouchable. Just a shame he's not on form so often when it really matters.
His doubles let him down time and time again. I wonder if there's a way to see who is the most consistent darts player in terms of averages. I'm sure MvG is up there. It's just the doubles that fucks him time and time again.

Well, I just started playing darts and been watching tutorials... looks like most pro players do just about everything completely differently than what is taught in tutorials; I can only assume it's talent combined with muscle memory... and for the rest, they just do whatever the heck seems to work for them, regardless of it making any sense whatsoever; then again, who are we to question the technique of world-class players when we're pretty much happy to hit the board ;)
He just relies on rhythm.

His average was helped by Cullen hitting his doubles quickly - even 1 more dart to hit the double next go would bring his average down. Obviously quality darts though! ;)
I think they should not count attempts at doubles towards the average since you purposely hit lower than necessary. Much better to use actual attempts at maxing your score for average calculation.
Yes I agree. The scoring average can certainly be separated from the doubles statistics. But I guess having 1 start to roughly cover the whole game is quite attractive

How is the average counted when you throw 6 darts and the other throws a 9 darter? Do you only get the 6 darts counted that you threw?
Cause that would mean the highest theoreitcal possible average would be one that only loses. You can throw 2 180s in every leg and have a 180 average if the other player finishes in only 9 darters.
