Coast Mountain Bus Company has a problem, with more and more routes being added across the city, there’s not enough drivers to meet demand. Tom Walsh learns if he has what it takes to help fill the void!
Great Job! Looks fun! Thanks to All the Transit Operators who still show up to work everyday during the Age of Covid 19 rather Los Angeles county where I live or around the world. Thanks!
I heard about that too, or around there, I have no idea why pay is an issue with the strike, pay is fine, overcrowding and passenger incidents seem to be the biggest problems
The pay sounds fine but you need to see the schedules. Drivers are exempt from most basic labour laws like meal breaks and washroom breaks and often work 12+ hour days for 8-9 hours pay. It's a unique schedule that you can learn to deal with but it cannot be compared to any other schedule out there.
Just go on their website look for careers then bus operators in your area, ( i believe you live in the bay area) and it will show up IF theres any openings. You have to pass a written test, and interview. Obviously you need to have at least your “CDL PERMIT” class b with passenger endorsement and air brakes if you dont have that you need to go to the dmv web site and apply for it.
@@moses8758 yeah Torontos system is much better too for customers as well they have it in grid formation the sky train is above ground because of sea level but it's like snakes and ladders and bus routes are lame too. They don't add extra buses for busy routes the tap system is confusing you have zones for fares instead of pay once in Toronto it's faster in Toronto to take transit than a car but not Vancouver probably much more high stress for drivers here than with TTC which everyone loves.
@@alichoudhry2013 Actually $27.43 during the training period which will go for 30 days. When you pass the training program and holds the position as a Transit Operator, your rate will be $29.39. You will build up your hours pass the probationary period of 675-hour not including the 30 days.

That guy is a natural! I've been doing this for 6 years and the way he made it around that course like that, with no training is incredible!

Typically a new driver has to work with a crappy schedule for 2 or even 5 years. So they get paid for less hours than what their work actually takes.
