- Catching and releasing wild trout is one of my favorite things. Sometimes I'm able to luck into a bunch, other times it's just super tricky. Here is another video from the vault of a few weeks back trying to fish an incredibly small stream with crazy growth on both sides. I had to find the right place to approach it properly. I left the while clip unedited.

@@Bassandtrouttales I have a question! Have you have a hard time with the birds nest on fishing reels because I have hard time with birds nest and I got very frustrated with it and I had a hard time tying a hook and snap clips!
I actually have a video of a super simple knot to tie. Those just take a lot of practice to get quick with. Also birds nests just happen. Try to keep the line tight while you're winding and a good spinning reel usually helps. If you get a birds nest just relax and open the bell to just pull your line out until the nest is gone.
