R.I.P GM Test Track
1998-2012
the worker that yelled last call was like ....yes! finally im going home for the day.
I got misty eyed while watching this video. Test Track's closing for me was like the Last Tour to Endor for huge Star Wars fans - I hated to see it go but was excited for what Disney had in store. Sadly I think Disney has underwhelmed us all with Test Track "2.0". I patiently wait while the clock ticks and the new Test Track's technology gets outdated which will lead way to a refurb. RIP REAL Test Track, my favorite Disney ride ever!
Collins Hall let's hope they do a better job next time ☺
New test track better ngl. I have been on both so many times but yeah for once there new one is better
@@pogbruh1289nope
Test Track 3.0 coming soon!
Omg, you were the very last rider ! You are a part of history lol. You’re very lucky too !
Yeah.
6:55 We find out the last ride car was an original Test Track car. The red one.
How did it feel to be the last person ever to ride the original Test Track???
I certainly will not be missing the CONSTANT breakdowns.
I will always have a place for this ride. I was the costumer/dresser for Flecth and Lumpy. Had good times with them and the ride. I got to be there greeter for the cast preview days. We had small skits all around the building.
this made me cry when I heard this happened
i got to ride this version of the ride a few days after i graduated in 2011
Disney said it will be December 2012 when it opens again, and there is a possibility for that date to change. I'm glad they are updating the ride, I just hope it will be as good as it was or better. I feel so sorry for everyone who is going between now and then and won't get to experience it. It was one of Disney's classic rides. It was my favorite when I was younger. Very creative and memorable experience on Disney's part. Here's to Test Track! We'll miss you!
Track Course B is never taken.
Because Track Course B takes you to the Vehicle Maintenance facility, (big building right outside of the crash doors) That's where they fix, change, rotate the tires and alot of other stuff
That secret room that's only for GM workers, I got to go in there with my dad. It was pretty cool. I miss this ride. :(
GM didnt go bankrupt... they ALMOST did.
8:33 Hidden Mickey at nine o' clock!
The new one honestly fits a lot better with “Future World”
The new one is the best
yeah but it lost all its character, this version seems way better. if only they couldve updated it instead of changing the whole theme
@florida_coasters Bro no one cares just enjoy while it lasts ur probably not in Florida. They can’t just close the whole ride again for refurbishment. That’s something stupid and if the cars on then track they could stop moving leading that to an E-stop.
@@robloxplayerplays2018 they actually are closing it for refurbishment this summer... lmao
I hope he does, he (John Michael Higgins) fit in so well for the ride, that it'd feel too weird without him. Maybe they'll show him in charge of the control center, telling you how to design the cars, pick the parts, etc. He still looks the same today, so people would automatically recognize him. It's also be a nice tribute to the original TT. :)
i love to see walt disney world test track
Awwwww maaaan, I never get a chance to check the original test track ride. :(
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa...they're closing this ride?!!!
Man, Throwback Thursday taken to a whole new level… got those indescribable nostalgic feelings again… Ah, those were the days….
Thanks for uploading this. Not sure what the new version will be like, but I hope it's as fun as this.
new test track is beast they just Chang it
I remember this version
Same, I hope they bring it back
The new test tracks probably not going to be as good as this. And this was my favorite at Epcot. I hope its still good though
They may just have been cycling vehicles.
This one’s a awesome ride.
I'd love it if the new pre-show has an updated video with Bill and the lady from the original, or at least some sort of homage to them somewhere in the attraction.
They should change it back this was the test track I rode when I was 5
I already miss Bill McKim :(
contract with gm was ending
Hard to believe it’s been over 10 years
Thanks Jeff, love the video and love Test Track so hope they don't change it too much
it was due an update, but i dont think an overhaul. updates like in the barrier test section, the test car in front as you pull round the corner actually used to smash INTO the wall, and not just shudder a little like it does now. oh well, fingers crossed its a good update! :)
Chevrolet (how ever u spell it) got it its supposed to be somewhat different just look at stuff only it looks like it wont disapoint like most disney stuff.
This makes me sad
Of all the rides I remember, the first and last time I went being at age 3-4, it was this one
Now here I am 10+ years later, grown up into a car enthusiast and soon to hit the road myself
Strange finding you here…
I remember riding it when I was younger, walking in scared and confused, and walking out with a huge smile on my face.
It’d be nice if they could make a Test Track 3.0 - Reuse the original concept, but modernize it. (For instance, changing the ABS test to something else, like an Emergency Brake Assist test or something.)
It going to be Tron theme got this straight from the horses mouth
I'm not sure that the original version of Test Track can be topped by the ride's new redesign, for the original version was a thrilling and very well-executed and thought-out ride. The Tron-like preview images and the somewhat gimmicky idea of getting to design your own ride vehicle aren't too promising to me, but still, I am excited to see what the Imagineers have come up with for the second version of Test Track.
I'm bummed Test Track won't be open when we are there in June.
I just hoped they remembered to turn off those test robots.... We remembered that we are not a dummy :'(
I’m glad you weren’t stuck in there as soon as those doors were closing. Likw how did you get out all the doors could’ve been closed.
You know if it is better I dont even care about the old one.
NOO! they screwed it up!!! :( WHYY?!
Stop making me cry man this was the best test track ever. Even when it closed i was sad as hell. But i was one of the last people to go in it before it closed i took over 1000 photos for this. I think this was better than 2.0 in fact i worked there when it was closing for new buildings i took a video and took the ride as well if iny of yall see this kids just know test track used to be better.
so i saw a chevy vehicle!! from the 2.0 version!! it was probly testing
FunCoolDudes101 yea in 2010 they were added to a few cars. idk about it at the time but it was sad to see this die
now if theres a kingdom keeper movie there wont be ctd's
if it was the last ride why was there another train @ 9:16?
Nobody are in those
Hopefully all they change is the pre show and add some extra FX to the actual ride
What secret room? It's only for GM workers? What was in it?
test track was one of the best rides at disney. hopefully the upgrade wont be that different.
It’s too different now. Complete and utter garbage compared to this original
Nice Job. Hey when you was walking in those Cast Members was Rude. The one was saying we close the door that Guys was Rude. I wonder why they closed the ride Early? what time the park closed?
Breaking down in 7 (the cold room) looks like torture in those CZcams videos. Rode this with my kids in February 2012 right before the end of this ride as it exists. The new "jazzing up" did nothing for the ride - it is the same ride and it is wearing out. There seem to be a lot more breakdowns posted these days compared to when the ride began in the 1980s when I was a kid.
This ride didn't even open until mid 1999.
Sorry, late 1990s is right. I was thinking about World of Motion for some reason...
World Of Motion probably had more frequent breakdowns than Test Track with it being an Omnimover and all.
World of Motion is nothing like Test Track except both were sponsored by GM (now GM/Chevrolet). Personally, I liked the original Test Track better than the "design your own car" test track offered today, although it is the same ride in the end on the same track with different special effects (except for the truck which makes you "swerve" - it is only very slightly different from before with laser effects on it.).
World of Motion was better than both of them combined.
WHAT?!?!?!?!????????
4:46
SEVEN!?
First, General Motors, then Chevrolet, which is part of GM, along with Buick, GMC, and Cadillac, excluding defunct brands like Hummer, but GMC makes an electric version of the vehicle which is a truck and a SUV version that’s coming next year… Bill McKim would be so impressed!
4:45 Wow the cars were already set
You can see a Chevrolet Logo in the back
was there a "new" car on the track i saw? at around 4:46
yeh just checked their website but now it says november 30th :(
Yea after they sold part of their company to Fiat.
7:28 Did you remember to turn of those robots?
Uh…
0:51 How do they actually close the door? Do they use a remote to close them like an average garage door?
The new version is better in my opinion
Ryab The Stupid Puffster Looking at the old queue, this ride was in desperate need of that revamp.
I like the new one too
Aww man. I hate to hear about this ride. It was one of my favorites. Of course I loved Horizons and look how great Mission Space turned out! Disney progress.
do u know when its being reopened? am going in september, really hope its open by then, one of family's fav rides
Bill Mckim and Sherri were the best. Now they replace them with robots?!!? This is complete BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Er.... You have some facts confused...
@AHurricaneProduction
HIDDEN MICKEY! pre ride briefing room middle far right of screen!
the travk is the same even the truck just more futruistic them jhin future world
do you guys like the old version or the new version I like the new
Nelson Ferrer old is better
OLD!
I like the new one. The old one stunk
Old forever
I like the new one, it is cooler and fits a lot better with the future world theme, plus you can make your own car. (but it’s a shame I never got to ride the old)
You are sadly misinformed. GM went bankrupt but are doing just fine now.
So you were the last car
The man at the beginning wasn't to nice they don't make me want to have a magical evening but love test track can't wait but did they get rid of the crash dummies because those are my long lost relitaves
i love disney rides in walt disney world florida
For a few months, they're gonna remove the cheap props and add other stuff.
was there a "new" car on the track i saw? at around 4:46
beatlesfan464 yes the skin was added to a few cars in 2010
