Ok So we all agree I’m crazy for sharing this right? Like, it’s a super power! Anyways here are a few important BONUS TIPS if you’re doing this live and are worried about them wanting to check out the envelope.
1) make sure to not give any importance to the envelope. Be very casual about it, people don’t know about fake envelopes so there’s nothing to worry about.
2) Consider doing this in a more “stand up show” setting as opposed to a casual setting. People can’t check out your props if you’re doing a stand up set which is why stage magicians get away with a lot more than street magicians.
3) consider immediately following up with another trick so they don’t have time to ask you to see the envelope!
Ps: I know at some point it looks like the prediction is a black card, it’s not, it’s a red card the whole time. The resolution of the camera just distorted the color. The video is one take and I don’t have a gimmick made with any other card. So it physically can’t be anything else lol

Something else just occurred to me- you don't really need to stick the two cards together,you just need to preload on the other side of the envelope wall and unload the cards you want by pinching the card you want to retain thru the envelope as you slide out the two you want: this could save a lot of fiddly preparation and leave you cleaner at the end.Thanks for showing a great trick, and please keep them coming,

I pulled this off in person using an old pocket tee shirt instead of envelope. Cut a slit inside the pocket to slip the card in. And when you show the inside just make sure a wrinkle covers the slit so it's not visible. And I just taped a paper towel to the inside of my shirt to catch the card. Thanks for the cool video

First, thank you for sharing this. But here's the thing. Every trick has some inherent illogical element. It is the performer's duty to minimize this discrepancy using several methods, justification for an illogical move. The moves in this trick (i.e. not seeing the selection and putting it into the envelope) raises huge suspicion. This trick has possibilities if the performer can justify putting the unseen selection into the envelope. Thanks again for sharing this!

Another way to do this without spray: Take pieces of tape on the rectangle place it there. Take it off and repeat until card is slightly sticky! Hope it helps.

I just wondered if you would also perform this in a casual or street performing environment, since none of the props are examinable at the end.
As I said in the comments, and as you correctly observed, this is much better to do virtually it in a stand up show.

in your demo I noticed the card coming out the wrong way. I feel like most of my sceptical friends would as well.
I too noticed that right away. Also, the way the card was held when the envelope was first shown made me very suspicious that there was already a card hiding in the envelope (which I wasn’t right about actually). And finally, the edges of the glued card looked kind of darker because of the double layer. Definitely not a trick to be done in person. If someone asks to inspect the envelope the trick is blown. I could also see asking to look at the prediction card and that would blow it. I feel like an asshole saying this because everyone else is blown away.

First of all. Thank you so much for teaching this. I do have one worry though. What is the justification of putting a card into an envelope just to take it back out again. I think that might raise a bit of suspicion. Other than that i love the trick and i was fooled. Thanks again for sharing.
From his perfomance, he justified putting his prediction card into the envelope so that he can't manipulate it as the trick goes on. There's really no justification for putting the cards that the spectators have chosen into the envelope though, and the trick itself would've fallen apart if it's done in person and the spectators decided to see/accidentally saw what the card actually is instead of leaving it face-down all the time.

Awesome. IMO the beat after putting the selected card in the envelope can't be stressed enough... It makes going back to the envelope for the reveal seem all the more fair - pointing out how fair everything else is.
