Cant. Agt is only a 90 second audition. He would need to do a condensed version of it but i dont see that being possible because not only the length of the act but also the speed.
He can split up his tricks between the auditions, judge cuts, semi finals, and whatever place he gets to.

@@misguidedangel6550 I'm kinda that type of person, I'm a bit into magic and I love understanding how they do it, personally it makes me enjoy it even more. If it's an easy technique with great presentation it's amazing, if it's insane technical moves like here, it's amazing too!
I would say with the years I have a fairly good eye and for the best tricks after a few rewatch can see the moves, but this very one is the only one where there is a part I've no clue how he does it, which makes me consider him as the god of magic.

But the vest is how it disappeared in the first place.
As you can see, if you watch 4:26 at 0.25 speed, you'll see that he actually spawns the cards from the void into his other and and deletes them from his right hand instead of transferring them via wormhole, which was the other acceptable choice. You can see him actively using the spawn and destroy commands. Idk how he got access to cheats, but I want these commands too.
I remember reading an explanation that the cards are trick cards with foldable sides to make it look like a full deck when its only 1. The deck to me feels noticeably smaller after he pulls them out of the box.
@@taryth. yea it looks like there is a little flap on the single card in his right hand that folds out to look like a full deck. Still, the execution is phenomenal and I'm still not sure how the entire effect works. But I'm almost positive the fold out piece is how he does that part of it

Man was good, no doubt. But after looking at the video frame-by-frame in SVP, the marker went into his red vest. It happens right after he moves his right hand up to his left hand, then quickly pulls it back. In that instance, he dips it into his vest where it is likely lined as a giant pocket (so to speak). Then pulls out a separate marker from his pocket shortly after.

I've watched countless breakdowns of this performance from multiple youtubers...but when shown all together like he does, it is simply amazing and truly "magical" no pun intended, just no other way to describe it.

I've seen it at least 15 times now, and I am able to catch a few things here and there. I have an idea as to how some of the stuff is done based on some of the stuff that I have caught, which may be what Penn references to when he talks to Shin Lim about his performance, but the performance still blows me away even now. And even with the stuff that I have seen, as Penn himself said, I still have no idea how in the world Shin Lim vanished the marker, especially the second time he did it. He is truly one of the best magicians in the world right now, and I hope he does well on AGT this year!

I honestly can't believe this was 7 years ago thanks to COVID screwing up any natural sense of time. I remember the first time seeing this performance and just being stunned at the precision and the beauty of the synch with music and the use of smoke. There is still no one like this and I am still amazed from what seems like a lifetime ago..
The bit about the marker is always my favorite part. I know it’s an old video but as a fellow musician whose playing has suffered from wrist injuries as well, your routines always remind me of what I loved about studying and performing music.
I have watched this multiple times. Easily one of the most beautiful magic tricks I have ever seen and some of the best slight of hand bits that is out there.
I know, man, it's pretty damn cool. I really liked the smoke bit because it flowed with all of it.

This is the only magic performance I've ever seen that was so lyrical and moving that it brought a tear to my eye. Just beautiful. I used to buy tricks to learn how they were done and I've spent a lot of time reading about the craft of magic and card manipulation but with Shin Lim I don't even care how he does them all, even though I can tell some of it, because it's more rewarding to just sit back and let this artistry touch the soul.
He’s not the best sleight of hand of all time, but this performance as a whole might be the best.

After watching countless magician's acts on Fool Us, this one by Shin Lim is by far the one that captures that sense of mystery and awe of something truly unexplainable. While knowing that it is all merely slight of hand, there is a sense that perhaps some real magic was witnessed, even if for just a moment. Shin Lim is the true magician's magician.
100% agreed... this is by far my favorite routine ever. I come back at least once a year... just to watch in wonder.

I went back to watch that marker disappearance at 3:25, in slow motion, a least a dozen times, and I'm convinced that's actual, real magic. It just straight-up vanished. Like, one frame it's there, the next it's gone. Dude just deleted that marker. Absolutely mind-blowing. Well done!
I think he places it on the back of his right hand. Notice how he keeps his palm straight moving it back down towards his pockets. At the "vanishing point", the motion seems to point to the marker going over the top of his fingers on his right hand and falling right on the back. Maybe one side of the marker is sticky or something. Whatever it is, that's crazy timing and dexterity.
@@Shalnn I don't think so. The shot after it cuts to a different camera, but it's continuous, and you can see him move his hands out of that position and show the other sides.
I think he has to put it in his shirt; you can see him move his hand closer to his shirt when he vanishes it, but the fact you don't see any movement of his vest is bizarre.
Still not sure, but yeah, it's a well deserved win for him.

It’s such an incredible performance. If you watch it enough times, sure, you can see some of what goes where, when he puts stuff in his mouth etc but it’s more in the way you do it. The music was a beautiful choice. No reason why more magic shouldn’t be more like this.
4:26 He's holding a card that has flaps that open when he removes his thumb, to make it look like a deck of cards... the deck is still in the other hand when he brings his hands together he collapses that card with the deck.
5:14 he has 2 cards. when he puts it into his jacket back strap, it triggers a pully thingy that brings him one of the cards to the front (the one with the signature)

Unlike other acts I saw on this show, this one doesn't have to be 'figured out'. This was 'magic' in its simplest form, and watching him perform was a great treat! The no-speaking part just added to the beauty of the act, very well done sir, can watch this for hours!
none of them have to be figured out but some people like to. Honestly, personally I love figuring out tricks....I appreciate them MOST once they are figured out. But I agree some people really shouldn't figure it out because it really ruins it for them and they loose touch with how it's artistry

What's so strong about this is instead of using one trick to perform many variations, he used many tricks to perform one act. That's amazing! We really couldn't keep up because there were so many being thrown at us.

other side is all open so you did put the cards from the ordinary side
while his finger is keepin' the cards from the open side not to fall .
and you did act like he's cleaning the table to place the packet on it
while his second hand already put the packet on a position that allows
the cards to fall behind the table . :D but anyways its a great show

I do not believe I have seen card work done this beautifully...ever. I worked for two different illusionists as an assistant in my younger years, and still don’t know how they did some of their tricks. This man has a unique style, and a stage presence that commands attention without being brash. His introduction of smoke in such lovely subtle ways added more mystery to an already staggering routine. He deserves all the success the future will bring. Flawless ness does not come by whim...but by great dedication and work. He has clearly been paying his dues. Respect.🖤🇨🇦

Absolute amazing craftsmanship (Magic) But I quite sure I noticed some of the tricks after watching it twice. 1:55 ( hides pen in his shirt.) 3:42 (Hides cards inside vest) 4:47 (Pushes card from earlier to vest pocket) 5:03 (hides card in hand and puts into his mouth) 5:30 (take card from earlier out of mouth) 6:52 (dumps card behind table) The rest of the tricks Im not as sure. Still an awesome prefomance! True craftsmanship!

the first pen vanish is obvious, he just slips it into his jacket, the second one he just holds the pen lid between his fingers whilst his fingers are bent forward then flicks his fingers back so the pen is behind his hand and then drops it behind his leg. looks cool but quite easy to figure out
If it was so easy as you say then I am sure Penn and Teller would have caught onto what he was doing, but as they said they had no clue as to how they vanished the marker.

I remember watching this when it first aired and I've come back to this video I don't even know how many times since. And I am fully confident in saying this is the most mesmerising magic act I have ever seen, and every time I watch it I am as every bit as captivated and dumbfounded as I was for the first time.
