Greatest Rock Band of all times. Led Zeppelin has influenced hundreds of other bands.
Robert Plant the singer is considered a Rock God and is known to have one of the best voices in Rock History. He has always had his long blond mane.
He created the Rock Star phenomenon.
Jimmy Page, the guitarist is considered as one of the best in history.

Biggest band of the 70's and one of the biggest bands of all time in popularity and sales. It's so amazing what time can do to something sometimes in that so many young people never heard of them. Led Zeppelin is a group not a person. Suggestions would be almost anything live from their 1973 concert from Madison Square garden. Stairway to Heaven, Black dog, Rock and Roll. The Ocean. Are among the very favorites but every song from that concert is really good. You need headphones. Your missing so much without them.
Robert Plant the singer is considered one of the top 3 singers ever in rock. Same for Jimmy Page on guitar. He was the leader and former of the band. John Paul Jones played base and several other instruments and was also considered and all time great. And John Bonham on drums is often considered the Goat of rock drummers. Heavily based and inspired by blues and extremely versatile and innovative in how they played. From the way they look to the stuff they did parting off stage and their life style, Rock bands even today are inspired by Zeppelin. Zeppelin is pretty much the blue print for how a rock band behaved for the next 30 years. Many rap and or hip hop groups have sampled their beats. Zeppelin is considered the most influential rock band only behind the Beatles. They are still like the 2nd or 3rd band all time in sales. Their song Stairway to heaven is considered the most popular rock song in history and it still often wins best rock song in the count downs. They broke up in 1980 when the drummer drank 40 shots of vodka and threw up. Suffocating on his vomit at the guitarists house. True Rock star death.

My god I haven’t listened to them in a while and they sound as good as ever. Timeless classic. And that goes for their whole discography. It’s so hilarious to watch people going “so how many guys in this band? lemme know in the comment section” for one of the greatest rock bands in history (there are a few but they are my favorite) who influenced many after them 😆😅

BTW, as to the "When", Led Zeppelin was formed in 1968. This song was the opening track on their second album and it kicked the door open for a lot of hard rock that followed. There was nothing like this before they came along.

Led Zeppelin was an English rock group. They were created in 1968 by guitarist Jimmy Page who also produced all their albums. Singer/harmonica player Robert Plant, bassist/keyboardist/mandolin player John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. They disbanded in 1980 with the death of John Bonham. Their music is considered "hard rock/heavy blues", but they played a variety of genres. Were their concerts turnt? Better believe it, with concerts often going past 3 hours. They were known for never performing a song the same way twice and doing a ton of improvisation.

These guys are rock legends! Each song has its own vibe and pulls you in soul first. They’re awesome! My favorite from them is Kashmir, to me it always feels like a magic carpet ride.
A band on par with them, from the same era, is Pink Floyd. Totally different vibe but equally awesome. Check out their song Another Brick in the Wall or Comfortably Numb. Can’t go wrong with either band.

I just got to your first LZ reaction! I know by now that you've got a intro to LZ from other commenters. This song is based on bluesman Willie Dixon's You Need Love (1962 song). The Whole Lotta Love riff was recently voted as the greatest riff of all time by Total Guitar and Guitar World. LZ is ALWAYS switching it up - particularly in live performances. Jimmy Page used the bow on his guitar all the was back to his days in another influential rock band - The Yardbirds. He used it on several LZ tunes. To see the greatest use of the bow, check out Dazed and Confused from their 1973 performance at Madison Square Garden from the Song Remains the Same concert movie - it is one of the best - but not the longest version. In addition to Page's guitar work and Plant's vocals, it is another example of John Paul Jones bass work and Bonham's drumming allowing everything else to happen - the jam in the middle it 🔥🔥 czcams.com/video/ZQgYn23Xvck/video.html Hope you'll check it out ☮

For more of that blues sound, try since I've been loving you live at MSG 1973. To really see the guitar played with a bow. Try dazed and confused live same concert. Gotta be the 29 minute version,or they cut a lot out.

When they recorded this song, Robert Plant (lead singer) and John Bonham (percussionist) were 20 years old, Jimmy Page (lead guitarist) was 24 and John Paul Jones (bass/keyboards) was 22. Greatest rock band to ever grace the earth. If you want to get into their music, start with their first album (released the same year as this song on album 2) and don't stop. You won't be sorry. BTW, don't know how the sound is on your end (are you wearing ear buds) but it wasn't great on this end even with headphones. Sounds "tinny".

You put a big smile on my face watching your first exposure to Led Zeppelin and classic rock! Welcome to rock and roll 101! Your education is just beginning. Put on some headphones to listen to old school music where every member of the band was an actual musician or vocalist. The level of talent is unbelievable and the creativity endless. You're going to really enjoy this journey! Try some Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Allman Brothers band, Stevie Ray Vaughan is imperative for a guitar lover like you and some early Doobie Brothers for your new musical foundation. Much love from a new sub!
