(You get the feeling Dave has something on his mind)
Dave: Hey what's up?
"What happened on Orinda?"
Dave: I don't want to talk about it.
May the 4th be with you and your Forces, Commander.
The lore reason given for the triangle shape is due to it allowing most forward shooting with all turrents, consider a ww2 battleship being unable to engage at front with all guns. in SW many ships initiate fighting by flying towards the foe directly.
That and George Lukas thought triangular ships looks scary and evil.
Nothing against Baker, but I love the "Mandalorians are from New Zealand" thing that Morrison accidentally started, and KotOR 2 ran with.
Also, everyone hates Hailfire droids.
RE death wedges: Palpatine used the old Harrower-class dreadnaught (which is tiny compared to Imperial II SDs) as reference/inspiration for Venators and other stuff. So, mostly he's just going for aesthetics.
No idea if this is a officialish reason, but for a dedicated warship, the ability to basically bring all your guns to bear on one target can be very useful. You point your ship at the target, delete it and move to the next.
Quite an epic last stand at Ruusan
Thank you for the videos lately Dave. Been having a hard time at work lately and it really brightens my day when I see you've uploaded.
>There doesn't seem to be a way to get a line of sight on their base
But you have a LAAT.
Dave you are truly spoiling us right now. The quality of the content is top notch. Just want to say thanks!
Really enjoy the kotor music. Haven’t played this game in ages but enjoy your play through
I really hope this carries over to Thrawn's Revenge 3.2
Dave, I love the beginning narrations. Best part of an already excellent video.
I’ve always felt like the clones in the show didn’t feel like the clones in attack of the clones or revenge of the sith
Ruusan is essentially becoming this timeline's version of what Kashyyk historically was.
Haven't played this game since I was a kid and it first came out, and this series is inspiring me to play it again.
Denon is officially the Switzerland of the galaxy.
It's interesting how broad your definition of "useless" is. Like the scout bikes. Notorious hero snipers, a gun that's basically an HMG and shreds infantry, extended sensor range and a bomb that can take out swaths of battle droids. But because an episode or two ago a single scout bike couldn't take on an anti infantry turret, they're useless.
I'm pretty sure majority of Kiwis are pretty chilled and laid back.
Another great video but here's some friendly advice.
1. Certain ground units are especially good when you get them close to the enemy because they can utilize all their weapons so you do have to micromanage them because they're a bit soft such as the gunships in the tanks.
2. If you're being invaded you definitely want to ground Rush all the landing zones as you can for one I can give you additional reinforcements and you can also choke point the enemy but it also limits how many units they can put down on the field.
3. For the heavily defended worlds especially the one with two lukerholics and several space stations I recommend some hit and run tactics. One of the strategies that I've used is to have my vanguard unit going to the corner of the map and bait the enemy into following them, once they're far away from their base I'll have my fleet come in and destroy it before retreating that way denies them additional reinforcements. I then repeat this several times to pick off their stragglers until it's a fleet I know I can beat
Glad to see a new episode! Definitely one of my favorite series you have running right now! Here's hoping you're able to keep the core relatively peaceful and that you are able to find the money to build a few space stations :P.
JK you're doing great, definitely am eagerly awaiting the mandator completion.
Also, the absolute heroes at Ruusan! We love to see it.
'allo 'allo!
Resources shorteges are updated on weekly tick, like most additional lua code.
i think baker does what he does with the voices to keep them interesting. cause the calm reserve works for when they're background but for being some of the major characters? they needed a bit more energy
A little thing with the AI is if they see a ship capable of interdiction, they won't run. You don't even need to activate the interdiction ability. That's why those ships over Rishi didn't run.
Those mercs are the weequay; the alien who was pushing Luke onto the plank to jump into the sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi.
@@rmcgowa1987 Onaka ga suita.
Sorry to say since your narrated prologues are indeed really good, but Ruusan wasn't exactly settled during the Clone Wars, or for the past 1000 years before it.
It's something of a Tomb World, where the final battle between the Sith Brotherhood of Darkness and the Jedi Lords' Army of Light took place, during what is commonly known as the (Darth) Bane era. The Brotherhood ultimately lost the war, but went out with a literal bang on Ruusan, detonating a Thought Bomb that wiped out the majority of both armies across roughly half the planet - and at ground zero a powerful Force Nexus had formed from all the Jedi and Sith that died to the Thought Bomb, creating what is known as the Valley of the Jedi. In short, it's something like the Star Wars Fountain of Youth; since anyone who "bathed" in the energies of he Valley would be imbued with the Force; non-Force Sensitives would become powerful Force Users literally overnight - and those that were Force Sensitive would become exceedingly more powerful.
Ruusan was lost and forgotten after that war (something about nebulas screwing with Hyperlanes to the system) but, as it were, it became important again during the Clone Wars as the Separatists had established a vital Espionage Space Station over the planet's Moon (without realizing the actual significance of what was on the planet) - and no matter the Era, the Jedi Order would take extreme measures to keep the planet protected and classified because of the Valley of the Jedi whenever it's rediscovered.
Edit: checking for spelling mistakes
@@rmcgowa1987 Yes. Timeline wise that was when the planet and the Valley was rediscovered - but TCW then said during the war the Separatists had established a very important Spy Base there that became a high value target.
"Odious little man" certainly seems to sum up quite a few different fascistic sycophants and hangers-on, doesn't it...?
heck yeah - I was starting to worry something had maybe happened to the save file and you'd had to stop. I realize you have several other series' going as well - glad to see another episode of this as well though. 🙂
Had a question to add: you mentioned about the Venators(sp?) not really being meant to serve in the main combat/battleship sort of role, having been designed as support carriers for fighters etc. I know they ended up having to be used that way because I think at the beginning of the Clone Wars the Republic didn't really have anything bigger - it seemed like the only other thing that was close were the troop ships, which also were partly pressed into combat roles even though they were even less suited to that job than the Venators were.
which (finally, I know lol) brings me to the question: are those really big dreadnoughts that you had at the last battle - the ones that sort of look like giant lightsabers, ships that were in the movies or the books etc? I just couldn't remember and it seems like they are pretty capable combat-wise, and I would think they would have done a decent job serving in the role you have them in as the main capital ships. I guess a follow-up as well: which ships did eventually come in first and take on that role in the Republic - was it the Victory class, or was another type of early star destroyer or another ship type entirely? I'm just genuinely curious about the lot. (I realize I could probably comb through info sites somewhere to find out, but I thought I would ask here because I feel like someone here would certainly know) Thanks in advance for any responses (though I'll thumbs up them as well when/if I see them.)
Ooooooooorrrggghhh reneeeee
ive always called the octuptarra droids 'longlegs' personally, they never really gave those things a nickname in the show or any lore, unfortunately.
Man I really hate how bad it feels to use Spider and Crab droids. Spider droid antivehicle lasers have the same range as rifles. And neither one has much health or armor. And they die even faster than a normal infantry platoon if a Jedi gets close. At least they're easy kills.
Potato?

Why does everyone copy thexpgamers? Do your own thing please. Its more genuine and unique
Imagine thinking only one content creator is allowed to roleplay. It's not unique, regardless of how popular xp is. Dave likes to roleplay and make stories out of his content, like a whole lot of other creators and he happens to be good at it, so why throw a fit?
he's not copying a CZcams let's play, it's a clear homage to the pre mission audio logs in star wars battlefront 2, which is likely where the xpgamers got the idea too
unless i suppose he was making videos using this narrative device before CZcams was a website
@@RadCowify am i throwing a fit? Thats one weak ass fit 😂 i just think its overdone
So he's not allowed to play this mod because some other guy did it? That's stupid.
