Non-Qualifying streaks of Eurovision 2023 Countries

- With the running order now out, we can now (properly) start talking about who's qualifying from the semi-finals! In this video, we'll be looking at the countries that are participating in Eurovision 2023 that are currently hitting a rough patch and haven't been making it out of the semi-finals. We'll be looking at the countries that are on ongoing non-qualifying streaks. This is an update of last year's video.
I have not included countries that are not participating in Eurovision 2023, like Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro or Andorra that are technically also on non-qualifying streaks.

We've got countries ending (long) qualification streaks last year, countries on long NQ streaks for a while and some who are in the middle. Who do you see reversing their fortunes this year?

Give up, it's not going to happen. Seriously, they are in the bloodbath semi-final, they've got a poor position in the running order and the song is weak. Even the organisers know Latvia have no chance, that's why they're on 4th. I'm guess they'll finish 12th or 13th.
Plus, Latvia has never qualified in the first semi final before. All their qualifications were in the second semi final and they'd have a better chance there.

I will. As someone from another country that needs bouncing back (Croatia), I am determined to vote for Latvia, who has their best entry since 2015. That should make it through, even in the tough semi.

Since 2014 Ireland has only qualified once, in 2018. It was a miracle. That was the toughest semi ever.

Btw very sad how Ireland, Latvia or Austria had great entries but just had difficulties to make everything comes together! I just think some countries doesn't have bad selection but just not strong enough or bad staging to make it through! I hope this is your year!
At least 2019 and 2021 Austria shouldn't have qualified.
Some of the irish & austrian entries didn't qualify because of the vocals imho. And some because the song was very bland and forgeteable. Albina should have qualified but it was a tough semifinal.
honestly I wouldn't even mind it if Latvia had a qualification streak since 2015 instead, all of those songs aren't bad or anything

Thanks, man. Out of our 4 NQs, I am mostly sorry for Albina. Her song is really good, and we hoped she'd qualify. It's 10th overall on my list. Others I can understand. Franka was good, but got stuck in a long and tough semi with plenty of even better entries. Roko's song was just bad. A very deserving NQ for us in 2019. And Mia was actually solid last year. She was my borderline qualifier. But alas, wasn't meant to be. Hopefully Let 3 make a splash and we finally make it!

@@sannev8407 based on what (objectively, not your subjective preference)? Croatia got maybe the most favourable spot in ro and the odds are on their side (currently 9th - Denmark 11th in their semi). Croatia has a lot of haters but also a lot of passionate fans. Opening spot can be a bad spot unless you can deliver a solid performance like Norway in semi 1. Danish song is one of the most disliked songs among the eurofans. I'm not saying Croatia will definitely qualify or that Denmark definitely won't, but I think it's very likely that's how it's going to be.
@@sannev8407 Semi-finals are televote only, so Croatia will definitely qualify. Everyone said Moldova wouldn't qualify last year and look at how well they did.
@@irene6119 the eurofans are only 1-5% of voters. Denmark has a very good position and he is popular on tiktok. Also in this semi it's one of the few 'light' happy songs. And i remember the 00's era of eurovision with only televote, and the craziest act didn't make it to the final even then. I've seen many reactions from casual viewers and no one liked it. For moldova or serbia last year, people voted because it was quite weird or funny. But croatia will probably be too much for people. And they are between Switzerland and Ireland.
@@thehungrygoldfish moldova and croatia are totally different. Moldova was fun, party, dance, ethnic. Croatia is just too crazy. Even in the 2000's the dustin the turkey's and leto svet-like songs didn't make it even with 100% tele. And croatia only has serbia. I've seen multiple reactions from casual viewers who make out 95% of the voters and almost no one liked it. And, they are after another hopeful upbeat song, and followed by another anti-war song with impressive vocal and great staging. I defenitely wouldn't call croatia a defenitely qualifier

Denmark will definitely qualify this year. Every year I hate Denmark's entry (which is 90% of the time) they qualify. 2021 & 2022 I loved Denmark and they failed to qualify.
