  • No U.S. Supreme Court decision in the modern era has been so quickly and widely reviled as the infamous Kelo decision, in which the Court ruled that Susette Kelo's little pink house in New London, Connecticut, and the homes of her neighbors could be taken by the government and given over to a private developer based on the mere prospect that the new use for her property could generate more taxes or jobs.

I’m a fan of your channel and a subscriber, and I loved your eminent domain video on the corrupt Kelo vs New London case. I’m going through an eminent domain case myself where the city of Inglewood is using ED to take my property to give to Steve Ballmer, the 5th richest person, for his new Clippers arena! Definitely not for public use because he’s going to make money off the tickets. Ballmer bought the Forum from Madison Square Gardens because the owner threatened to fight Ballmer for his use of eminent domain to take the forum. So Ballmer didn’t want to deal with the headache and bought the Forum off the other billionaire because he knew he could have the city use ED to take the rest of the property he needed from small property owners like us. I was going to start exposing this on social media and wanted to get your advice, since you have som much experience. Thank you ahead of time for any advice and help and looking forward to your next video!

I'm so sorry Ms Susette. I was so upset and disgusted with the company, the supreme court, the politicians, and everyone else that were involved in the taking of your homes, your property, your lives. That is what was done to my ancestors the Native Americans. A very hard lesson we all have learned. May you find it in your heart to forgive these evildoers in the end during the time of judgement God will make them pay unless they repent and beg God for forgiveness.

This was a resolution in Lincoln-Douglas debate a couple years ago in the National Forensic League.

What an absolute disgrace this supreme court decision was. Those hateful politicians destroyed these people's homes, and to this day, the land stands empty and wasted. Any politician who had a hand in this should be horsewhipped for good measure.

Good riddance to the retiring Anthony Kennedy, who concurred with the majority on this one.

When did freedom really begin to end in America? Right here is where it became obvious.

I see, so you are saying that Municipal financing mainly determined the vote? A chance for pro unfettered-corporate Judges to curry public favor, while weakening Government & particularly public service employee unions?

Although I would say that Bush is not a real conservative and he's practically no different to Obama compared to Barry Goldwater or Ronald Reagan. Conservatives voted to protect Kelo's home, but Bush was anything but a conservative.
