I love Casio watches! I especially love the Casio Royale AE1200. This watch is similar.....but is it better? Which one should you buy?

don't forget, casio royale has 2 orange lightS, NOT just 1 side...both sides so night vision is much better and light up entire screen fully

Or get the AE-2100 which is the same watch but basically a budget G-Shock.
I've had the AE1000 for a few years now, but only started getting into watches recently, I've always loved it for it's toughness through many years of Secondary School!
I find the analog display really useful because you can still see home time whilst using the stopwatch/timer or even world times. My G shock can’t do that!
At those prices, buy both. I did. I have 2 Royales and an AE1000 in olive drab green. It looks quite handsome in green, and lends a military/survival aesthetic that suits it very well.
I have the 1000 and replaced the band with nylon made for it. Love wearing it now. Such a functional watch. I like your video introductions more these days - I always feel so much happier after seeing you say "Hello and Welcome to Just One More Watch!" Marvelous.
The AE1000 (Silver) was my first Casio and what got me started on my addiction to watches. I don't remember why I needed a watch in the first place, but I remember thinking this one was cool because of the world map. This watch also got me introduced to World Time functions. But, like you, I also prefer the Royale because of the 2 lights, metal buttons, and because of the shape. I currently own the Steel Royale and I'm buying the Black strap version next week when I get paid.
still got my Casio ae1000 with orange strap in 2021...I just love it...
I have both 1200 and 1000 but i really like the design of ae1000 with round dial... and it look so cool on my wrist.
Thx Jody - I just had to check out your channel to see if you had reviewed this one . I just love my Casio watches ( I have approx 20 of them at last count ;) ) And me being a cheap Scotsman myself, I just had to buy this one to add to my collection - in my case , with the orange strap /accents. It gets more positive comments than my Yacht Master and no-one has ever asked me if it is genuine - lol ;)
Great review. I love the color. I think it looks elegant with that color. But I would choose the Casio "ROYALE" for the retro feel and BOND feel hahaha. But, to me, when it comes to Casio digital watch, square is always come to mind.
Ive got this watch as a gift in 2013 and its still on its first battery ! Since then I have aquired many different time pecies, seikos, vostoks, atlantics and whatnot. But I always find myself choosing this one as my beatert!
I like round watches better overall and the round one seems to be easier to read 2 me, looks like my Timex expedition digital watch too, but for history reasons and heritage maybe I would choose the square one, but I'm leaning more towards the round one!

Such iconic Casio Pieces. Although I'm a Casio F Series type of guy, The AE series is just as God Tier when it comes too it's usefulness, and it's utilities, espically for those of us who travel often, and have family overseas. I've owned one for years now, and it's been a tank, and just flawless, espically with its World Time features, Alarms, Count and StopFinally had time to click on my youtube recommendations, and this video covers it perfectly, and a great reference.
I like Casio as well. I own AE 1000 W (red) so far it's a fine watch, it's a bit lite and small. Are you going to make a review on any Wenger watch?
I bought myself an AE1000 with silver stainless steel band. I bought it as I wanted a Casio Royale but the square 1200 was not available so I bought the round AE1000.
It's like a Casio Royale just looks a little different.
The stainless steel band makes it look better than the resin banded one reviewed in the video and my AE1000 has 'Casio' on the clasp which the AE in the video lacks on its band buckle.

Planning to buy a Referee timer (Square) and this one (Gold trim and round) so that I can have best of both worlds !
IMO, this is one of the best value Casio general model, a lot of feature for just a small price. Awesome !
I've had 4 types of Royales and flipped them alll, just ordered one of these. I hope I can "Bond" with this one with bracelet.
I just received it and it feels so much better. Maybe because it's round, maybe the map and analogue are switched around but it just feels better.

I was at Walmart the other day in the men's fitness apparel and their was a large picture of a male model with the orange version on his wrist.

The original Jody died during the pandemic. The new one is a clone, but getting the voice just right is harder than it sounds.

I have both these watches. Date window is very small in the Casio royale watch.
For me, the Royale has a real personality. I bought and it arrived yesterday.
I have the silver one with a stainless steel bracelet. It's top notch. I've had it nearly 3 years.

I just bought a 1000w and immediately started to mod. the watch display sits too deep for my liking hence I had trouble seeing the analog time and the map. I ripped out the grid, this way even the one led lits up the whole screen better. Next step will be hydromodding it.
So far so good had this liquorice gem since 2010 from UK argos £19.99 all black looks better, battery life claim is not accurate as its been my daily so that'll make it 11 years and counting.... With the same power cell, never opened it up, straps haven't failed either, however I don't use the alarms and the screen catches light just fine from street lights passing cars, most memorable date was at the Airport in 2011 November 11 at 11.11 got a screen shot.... But no body seemed in the least bit bothered... Not interested in getting it replaced as yet however wouldn't mind the square casino Royal but can't decide between liquorice or stainless steel?!
I like mine but I didn't like the way that the overlay on the lcd overshadows the top parts of the main time display. I took it apart and removed the divider. So much better . Even the analog display looks clearer .
I can’t imagine it makes a great deal of difference. The AE1000 probably makes a slightly better weapon, but the 1200 is the icon.
I would like to suggest everyone to apply a screen protector in your casio ae1200wh instead of polywatch to keep the resin scratch free. 👍

Would you have to know the size of the screen size? I just bought one and want to get a glass/screen protector.
Check out the AW-80 series... Pretty much all the same features, plus storage for 30 phone numbers (lol) and an analog dial.

I want to buy this watch, but I'm confused between your watch belt or the steel watch belt.
Not bad. I prefer the round shape over the square AE1200. The altered layout of the screen does require some getting used to, I imagine, for someone who has been staring at his AE1200 screen a few times an hour for half a year already.

i have the ae1000 for 7 yrs. still got the original strap and battery.

My Casio AE 1000W is 12 years old and still in good shape and condition all i did is I put steel band on it

Just found this having bought the red 1000. I was hoping you'd comment on the strap as its the WORST Ive ever had, it doesnt contour around the wrist at all!
Yes the strap is terrible. Mine dug into the wrist , had to change the strap for a softer silicone one.

I've had AE1000 for 6 years and I loved it. Unfortunately I braked it by accident...I have few other watches, but this one is my favorite....I'm buying a new digital watch and I cant decide between these two :D
