    I have been an aquarist since the age of 10. I am not exaggerating when I say to you Mark that you have put together the greatest series of all aspects of tropical fish breeding I have ever seen. You really should consider getting all this in a book. It would be a number one best seller. If you don’t want to spend the time writing, there are ghost writers that will do it with you and publishers that could help make a beautiful book. The majority of tropical fish books written in the past never go into the detail as you have. Please think about it. Thanks for your knowledge and passion.

    This is fantastic! I've never kept tiger barbs, or any barbs actually, always fancied them but never really had a suitable setup for them. They're like tiny angel fish!
    I'm tryingy hand at breeding outdoors this summer, I've set up a plasterers tub with elodea, an overflow and a coarse sponge made out of an old koi prefilter, it's running on a solar air pump at the moment, seems to be working mostly OK. I managed to get a group of 8 medaka rice fish, should be fun. Who knows, might end up filming it! Hopefully by the end of September I'll have my main 5ft tank full of them!

    very interesting and look forward to seeing fry!! As I said to you a couple videos ago there is spawning activity in my Gourami tank - but I do not have spare tanks etc to be able to carry through - finally did spot 2 tiny specks under the bubble nest which were free swimming fry - and dad was doing his best to protect them - he sucked them into his mouth and then when he felt danger had passed he spat them out again!!! Then there was only one and he ended up swallowing it himself because I put food in and he had it in his mouth and I think he swallowed it with his dinner!!!! But they would never have thrived as the other fish will get them and I certainly do not have food to give them - it is a shame - but I am not set up for breeding unfortunately!!!!! K

    Love your videos Mark. I plan on breeding zebra danios in a large tub outside this year. I bought the tub last fall but still need to set everything up, since I haven't really decided on where's the best place to put it yet. I bought the danios a few weeks ago and they currently live in one of my community tanks so catching them again will be a pain for sure. Have you ever bred any fish in a tub outside other then the koi and goldfish in your pond?

    • @MARKSAQUATICS
      @MARKSAQUATICS  Před 2 lety

      Yes Danios breed very easily in the summer months. Just make sure the pond is stable before adding the fish.

      @@MARKSAQUATICS I'll probably be using a filter that's currently sitting in one of my other tanks and thought about seeding the water with with pondwater from the shallow parts of our goldfish pond to get things started a few weeks before moving the danios. Your videos on danio breeding were pretty helpful as well, so thanks

    I have a single female tiger barb in a 55 with small silver dollars and some tetras. Shes ready to spawn with anything. I thought there was something wrong with her till I saw she was FULL of eggs... I'm going to get her a male and fix up a spawning tank for them. I have had great success with Molly's, but they are easy.

    Mark the master breeder. You could give him a couple of fish bones and somehow he’d have them spawning in an hour
