My daughter was invited to a Quinceanera by her friend over this pass weekend. I thought I was going to cry it was so beautiful, I have never seen a tradition like that before. My daughter's friend has a huge family and the exchange of jewelry and shoes was so emotional for me. What a beautiful tradition

I love the content. We should remember our history and pass on the traditions to respect our ancestors. Thank you for this.

I was just at Vienna Austria for 2 weeks the dance from Andre RIEU concert looks exactly like a quinceanera dance & style
It’s honestly the city of music & very beautiful city
lol that’s why I’m here cuz it reminded me of a lot of Mexican and Mexican American culture (depends on who you are of course )
    God bless

Congrats on the video and wishing you the best on your channel. I did a documentary film called La Quinceañera, which I shot in Tijuana Mexico in 2003. The film follows Ana Maria and her family through her quince celebration. I've often wondered what has changed and what is still similar now, 20 years later in the celebration of quinces. I've attended many in the past but have not recently in the last years.

Thanks for the video; I wanted to learn more on the origin and events. Also I'm 19 and did not have a sweet 16 as expected; as I 'm trying to figure a big party for my twentieth birthday, especially the dress, my favorite part of los quince anos. Someone responded to a comment I made by saying : It's never too late to quince..." That's what's spurred me into planning the dress and party next year.

Your content is amazing I love your Spanglish the way you pronounce every word the beautiful way you describe all the details how it was and how it is in modern times. I am a choreographer and you are absolutely correct. The practices for the dance are my favorite times I miss it every time they end. I love the confidence each member gains to dance in public the memories are priceless 👍👍💕

Thank you so much for the video, I’m having my Quinceanera next year and I’m really excited I’m just starting to plan, I am not religious and I was wondering if you could have a non-religious Quinceañera?

Thank you so much for your comment! That’s so exciting! Quinceanera traditions, in my opinion, have changed and evolved so much in the past years. I think that an intimate ceremony/celebration of life with your family before the big party should be considered. It does not have to be religious it can just be something that you consider your closet friends and family being present and celebrating you!
In the end, this is YOUR celebration and you should do what makes you feel like a true quinceanera. I hope this answered your question lol

My family just had the daughters married off at 15. My grandmother was married off to my grandfather who was 21 years her senior as he was seen as a good provider who could take her out of Mexico during the Mexican Revolution led by Pancho Villa. That was back in the day of arranged marriages
