I really enjoy watching your videos Knurlgnar. The tide bit had me chuckling. Thanks for putting these out for us.
Thankyou for this review. I bought one of these off amazon, and after beefing up the input cables I was able to boil 1 litre of water in a 1500W kettle! According to my TM-2030 I was drawing 100ish amps from my battery bank, not something I'd want to do regularly, but it did it with no problems. Again thankyou.
Hello and thank you for taking the time to post videos especially with such wonderfully useful information. I ordered the Bestek 2000 Watt inverter, received it yesterday and tested the outlets with a receptacle tester which indicated open ground. I recall from your video that you mentioned a ground. I was wondering, why if the unit is grounded, would my tester read open ground on all three outlets. Thanks in advance, Kim
Very good review. Thanks
From experience of seeing these retail here in the UK, the box probably shows the US sockets/outlets wherever you buy it. :) (inverters in general, not this model)
If you use the accessory device ports provided on many trucks and some luxury cars they can provide 20-25A at 12V and they are generally labeled as such, but that would still be borderline to low to provide a solid 300 watts.
My car cigar lighter socket has a 12 Amp fuse as standard, I've blown it with a peltier fridge and a laptop, I think I will be having a dedicated cable from the battery at some point soon!
very through, excellent review
Excellent
can you do a video on bestek inverter 1000w repair
do you need to remove the 3 fuses and replace with only one 20amp at the top?
I had quick question I was hoping you can help me with , after watching you're videos you seem to know a lot about these things, let me start with the details
750w modified sine wave inverter
I opened it up to modify its casing a bit when I noticed the white wire was where the hot leg of the receptacle should be the black was where the neutral should be , ( I am an electrician after all) so I wanted to look into its polarity before I used it with a load ,
Now here's the question , I understand you need a true rms meter to read the proper output
But how do I test which wire is the hot wire because I am getting 97 volts across the hot and neutral but 20 volts black to ground and 20 from white to ground ...
I thought maybe because it's a modified sine wave does polarity even mater?
I know that's a lot to read but I would greatly appreciate your knowledge! Thank you
my coffe maker uses 900 watts and runs for 10 seconds at a time, the duty cycle is equal to 10 watts continuous
Hello I'm wondering what could possibly run a PlayStation Four system and 26 inch Samsung tv? At the same time..Currently Using a 300 watt and it keeps turning on and turning right back off.Sometimes I can stay in the regular screen perfectly fine but once I try to load a game it shuts right off. Please help if you can
"Rock the switch at on, it means the inverter is at normal situation when the indicator alters from red to green"
can i hook up two self powered dj speakers on this .... the both are about 400rms
what is the max voltage this will take? 4s lithium setup
hey, I hate to ask this question here in the comments, but I don't know any other way to contact you. I am looking into a buying a 1000w pure sine wave inverter. from watching your vids, i learned a lot, espeically that they arent all rated for what they say. would you mind recommending one to me that you know to be a good one? thanks. love your vids and I hope you make a new one soon.
Knurlgnar24, thank u for your enjoyable and enlightening review. At 8:30 into the vid, u say that the battery clamps are pure copper. I own this unit and my battery clamps are NOT solid copper. A magnet will adhere to mine, which means that they are copper plated iron/steel. All other steel components are stainless steel of a quality high enough that a magnet will not adhere to them.
Thanks for the info. It is possible they changed them since I got mine.
LOL 3:25 Make sure you have your Tide laundry detergent very very very far away, I guess you can't use this in the laundry room.
i have a new one that wont even power on,
Just bought a 1000W and it won't turn on either. Sparks more than it should, light comes on for a second then goes off. Return to Amazon I guess.
Is this inverter pure sine wave or modified sine wave?
It is modified sine
more vids pls
Knurlgnar, I enjoy watching your videos. This week for some reason I was curious about wind power, lead me onto solar power now onto a solar/battery config, which I am thinking of setting up for powering a small set-up in my room. A 400W computer with 24" LCD screen, a fish tank set up with heater and filter system, a LCD TV 97W, cable modem and cable TV box. Just wondering would you be willing to help me out with spec questions on part of the set up? Could pass on my e-mail address if your interested. If not sure keep up the good work! Love the videos.
I'm interested in that sort of stuff too, I just haven't had the application to make it work for me. You can PM me if you'd like and I'll try to help.
i have a bestek 300w inverter, it doesnt have a fuse, just copper wire.
+DMAN22yeah don't you mean it has a fuse, ie "copper wire".
yeah I learned that one the hard way.
I stuck 2 test leads into a "V" shaped pouch on my battery pack and melted it to pieces. and didn't realize that they made contact for 2 hours! thankfully everything was contained within a plastic toolbox, that well umm didn't make it because I couldn't clean it. but it was a learning experience because I got to rip everything apart and selvage the power socket and inverter, and I went on to build my own thing from scratch with new batteries instead of using the commercial product. sadly the 50w inverter didn't survive, I think I reversed the polarity by accident trying to hook it up in a hurry. however the socket made it into my soft lunch cooler battery pack with 3x 8Ah batteries.
+DMAN22yeah oh wait it might have an internal fuse(s)......
I like your vids but please buy a clip on microphone!
Dang I'm 3rd. Wow knurlgnar24 you got me good with that tide lol.
your videos are great!
