- How much does it cost to own and drive a Mercedes C-Class? It's actually not that bad to drive per mile because it's good on gas and requires little maintenance for a Germany luxury car. The car has been extremely reliable! Only 2 issues, loose sensor and defective driver seat control module. Both were replaced under warranty. Maintenance schedule, parts, and more videos below:

Great video. Thanks for making it.
excellent cost analysis. This should help with buying decisions for new or used cars for those considering cars in this class.
THANK YOU. i was about buy second hand c class on 113k miles, i was completely unaware that it cost 4025 more once it hit 120k miles.
Bought a 2012 c250 at 69k miles. Currently at 80k(6months of driving), one issue is with the internal thermostat, but it magically fixed it self. Beautiful car.
How is it doing today?
@@annamariecruz2023 sold it at 120k miles. 5/5 different mechanics told me its time to sell it for the repairs wont be worth it. Sold it at carmax for 7k. I personally still loved the car, but every mechanic told me it wasnt worth saving so i let it go.
Nice vid. I like them C250s. Not terribly expensive, nice looking and reliable. We were thinking about getting one for a family member and I was wondering about cost! Now I got something to reference. Good job!!
I am now currently owning a Mercedes E250 CGI Blue Efficiency Engine, very similar to the C250s but only bigger. Overall very reliable no problems as in breakdown, no engine failures and even no components failure too. Very reliable! I've driven it for 5 years now. 90K mileage just never fails to let me down whenever I drive it anytime fills me with excitement and comfort so much power coming from the engine. The minor problems were power seat faulty and some little oil leaks very trivial matter and fixed it with less costs under warranty. Better than BMW definitely as I owned 3 of them before, caused me a lot of problems and money to fix those problematic cars. Buying a Mercedes was the best decision ever made. No doubt the best or nothing
@@lukasbauer586 Man I’m going thru that right now bro. I got 123k done replaced my starter alternator , turbo lines , some pipes , valve cover gasket , tune up. I put 40k miles on her done took her to NYC , LA , Miami it’s a very solid car just take care of maintaining it
Currently with a ‘13 C250. Was given to me from my dad around 60-70k miles. Currently has 105k miles. Spent around $5k on maintenance so far. Just did a one way cross country trip with it and no problems. Never had that timing chain issue yet. Great car as long as you keep up with service intervals and maintenance
@MELLOW for 3 years as of now
Nice video..and nice chair..lol
I take DIY body fixtures & oil service at dealer to keep the Eurocare/mobility service intact. I save a lot on that. I save 70% on this.
Cool video. How about a e350 from the same year?
I love this guy!
:)
"Can't complain about it." well said!
I subscribed because this guy is cool and punk rock because he don't care what people think about his chair.
Lol thanks!
Question, is this the same for the C350 model, say the 2014 year?
Hey I have the same exact car for 4 months now, and my next service is in 140 days. It’s a serviceA but is that only oil change? Btw it has 57k miles
What about factory software updates? Nice videos!
I haven't had to do any
just purchase one sat looks great 2013 c250
Is it still running 😂
@@thankielife2670 whybu say that lol
How is it? Thinking of getting one this week 🤐
That seems amazingly reasonable considering gas is included. What year is the Merc again?
+K1dPhresh1 2012! The 4 cylinder engine and drivetrain seem to be holding up very well.
may I know how is your C250 hold up this day ? I am considering at a 2013 C300 right now .
Pretty good at 74k miles. It had a cam adjuster replaced under warranty at around 50k miles. It recently developed a fuel delivery problem which I hear is caused by a clogged fuel pump/filter assembly. I'll be replacing it soon and hopefully that fixes the issue. There's also an outstanding airbag recall due to the takata debacle. And when it gets really hot outside, the driver's seat control module doesn't work until the temperature cools down or if you disconnect the connector and reconnect it. Other than those issues it's been great. Definitely drives nearly like new after 7 years and 74k miles.
My company used to provide me with M-Bs. They were meticulously maintained by the book and yet were very unreliable. Each left me stranded with mechanical or electrical failures at least once and those were in addition to all of the other major and minor things that didn't cause catastrophic failures. When spending my own money, I took the advice of an excellent M-B tech and bought a Lexus. I'll never return to any German product. Good luck with yours; you're going to need it.
+wholeNwon thanks. We'll see how the C250 holds up.
wholeNwon Well then they were not maintained or the dealers in the US don't know what they're doing. These issues only originate mainly in the US. Emergency services, police services and taxi companys all use German cars elsewhere in the world like Europe and Africa (in particular Mercedes) because they are bulletproof reliable. Don't blame Mercedes for the shitty dealers in the US that can't maintain high end cars with better technology. These cars aren't crude Toyotas with an "L" for a badge and an inflated price tag. They're not meant for simpletons.
SDav21 Lexus drives nothing like a Toyota don’t start with that shit
Then why did you watch this video.
@@HabibRKOLexus and Toyota same company and platform 😂so one for regular people other for luxury people hahaha I know there are differences but still same engines and sometimes transmission which is ok Toyota is one of the best reliable car company
You wrapped your 911 a few weeks ago--what's your opinion on ceramic coatings? Do you like the idea of them?
+Livid Liquid I do and have thought about getting it for my wife's car since it is black. It seems to make it less necessary to wax as often. If you want your paint to me meticulous, I'd recommend paint protection film. You could ceramic coat the film for extra shine and swirl mark protection, but then you're looking at a pretty expensive price tag.

It's 2019 and I'm looking at buying a 2012 model in sedan body type with roughly 100,000 km on the clock. I'm figuring I'd have about 3/ 5 years and 60,000/ 100,000 km before it starts showing problems - typical of a Mercedes at around 160,000 to 200,000 km. But the good thing is that I should have reached breakeven on my contract with the bank within 2 years/ 40,000 km, so I can get rid of it when it starts giving me issues. I will of course buy a mechanical warranty and service plan but it isn't nice when your daily driver is constantly in between shops. SOUTH AFRICA
I'm thinking of getting one myself. A mechacinal warranty, a service plan I'm still debating in. I've read a couple people online talking about how they're currently running on 300 000km on their CDI and some on 400 000km so I think it's a very reliable. The main thing they spoke about is maintenance. If you stay on top of maintenance, I'm told the car can run up till 600 000km but let's be honest nobody is driving their Mercedes till it reaches 600 000. Heck you'll hardly see a 300 000km Mercedes on the internet. Anyway did you make the purchase?
I have a similar model ; what spark plug do you use in your vehicle ?
Check out my description. I believe I used NGKs.
If I have the 17 inch wheels and tires can I change the tires with 18 inch without changing the wheels? Also, is it required to have a staggered setup?
Staggered setup isn't required but you will have to change the wheels to add 18 inch tires.
@@CarFanatic Do you recommend keeping the staggered setup or just get all 4 matching tires?
I do you know what is a magatronic board for transmission?
I'm not sure what that is. Sorry.
What color is that and what size tires do you have on it??
obsidian black and 18"
U change the transmission fluid ?
Yes
Would the cost be the same for the AWD model? Or is this the awd model?
It would probably be similar
AWD would be similar possible difference would be fuel cost higher for AWD
Im sorry but what type of gas are you getting for 3.25 a gallon
Premium gas back in California
When this car breaks down, expect to pay $170 dollars to just get the engine codes scanned. Maintenance on mercedes is unbelievable. This c250 (w204 engine)has been known for timing issues...that's a big job, and there's no doubt it will happen to yours, it happens to often to owners. the air vents in this car grow mold and mildew. That's true, i hate my car. Materials are cheap...parts are expensive, you can only run 93 premium fuel in this car...mercedes recommends getting fuel from the same place every time.😂😂😂what tf ! Only thing nice about the car is the looks
I had one code, which was for the timing issue. Fortunately, it was fixed under warranty. Got another code, which turned out to be a bad high pressure fuel pump. Other than those two issues, the car has been great at nearly 95000 miles
You are assuming fuel costs never increase over the 10-year period.
Well that’s a given duh
Guess his calculations have definitely changed today.
I think he mean with regular maintenance fuel economy will be maintained max so he use average
For me my car fuel is the most expense at 0.6 Dollar/Liter with 6.5-7 km/l so over 10k Km fuel expense aroun 700-800 Dollar each 10k km and 7000-8000 dollar each 100k km in average but this price in dollar which is different than our currency in riyal
who drives 10k a year? I think this analysis is not accurate.
John Smalls you may not drive 10K per year (I can and have) but it still gives you the cost per mileage. So if you drive 15 or 20K miles per year, some quick math will tell you what it's going to cost.
I drive 10k per year
We drive 10k in our Infiniti in half a year. So double that for us. Lmao
10k per year. His work must be down the street.
i drive more than 12k miles a years... i drive 40 miles a day in total from work to home alone.
Not too expensive because its a c class, my 2013 cls550 is a spoiled brat...
If you're worried about the cost then a Benz is most likely out of your league.
Cost is everyone’s concern no matter what your purchasing makes no difference small or large items house or car or candy bar..
@@Bugin1967 Not over here. Look at price tags, where do they do that at?
Those types would buy them new rather than used.
