Door trim, window buttons on front door Audi A6 (C6 4F) - ! extra bolt see description!

- Attention! There are actually 5 bolts holding the trim! One more at the bottom of the trim.

The clips are standard VW/Audi, so if broken can be bought for small money at any dealership or on eBay:

To disconnect the clips, that hold trim to the door, move round bit of each clip away from the trim, so clip can come out easier, also when connecting door trim with the clips to the door, make sure that round bits are pulled away from the trim, so clips can get inside their holes.

@@wawayltd I know you forgot a screw, the black screw below! But I watched the video for another reason. I just wanted to know how the clips are attached to remove the door panel again, you have to pull the clips a bit so that they go back in the groove. For me it was a perfectly helpful video. Unfortunately, a wise clip attachment broke off for me...

I have to get to the speaker on the passenger side front, I have tried once before but wasnt sure after i removed the 4 bolt & i didnt want to break the panel.

I live in UK, first called Audi dealership to find out the price - 48.something GBP, then had a look on eBay - couldn't find anything reasonable, and, because of type of my business (taxi - can't stop) went for safe option. Never heard of aliexpress before, thanks for telling me, will have a look :)

Thanks for all the videos . You saved me with the heater blower motor instructions. Now I have a new problem and it's the drivers window cable has frayed and broken . no one has done the a6 c6 window regulator repair on you tube . My problem is removing the glass .
I don't have that car for about 4 years, so can't make any new videos with it. Normally to remove glass from catches, you should loosen nuts there. I had to do that on Seat other day, because it's all VAG I hope Audi is similar.

Hello. You are great. I was able to replace switch. How to replace electronic control module for right headlight. I’ve replaced bulb ,igniter , ballast but nothing has worked. I would have to remove glove box correct? What is the name of the part I would need?

On my A6 2005 plate there are 2 switches on the inside of the door just down from the locking mechanism and above the red light that comes on when door is open..you can see them on the video of you removing door card,I'm just curious what they are for,
I think it's something to do with alarm settings.. I'm curious now as well. I'll have a look in manual, when I'll get home.

Recently I did replace fuel rail line pipe (as the old one was damaged) . The new pipe did fit but it did not make the click sound. I ordered it from ebay. Is there any risk that it will get removed automatically . is there a fuel pressure in that ?

How can you set the remote to open windows. My 2006 key in door will lower windows but unlock button remote doesn’t. Is there a way to program?
Not sure how to program that if it doesn't work. On vags to open windows normally you need to press and hold unlock button. But automatic window winding should be on as well. You know like when you disconnect battery for some reason and your windows get glitchy - they don't close automatically, you have to keep your finger on a button, in that case remote option to operate windows also won't work.
I am having rough idle on this car along with sluggish performance. Any ideas? Replaced all filters so far but no significant result.

thank you for the video, question please, if the window goes down but not up, when click to move it up, the motor seems stuck and stop, if i remove the motor and move it up and down freely, it will move no problem, could be regulator?
I know these windows are sensitive to resistance - if something gets in the way they go back. Perhaps it could be misaligned window glass. I can't make a new video -I don't have that car anymore, but recently I had to replace window motor for Seat and had to fiddle a bit to get it straight. By the way - does it open and close with remote key (press and hold)?
@@wawayltd Thank you for the reply. yes, it goes down no problem, but up the motor tries then it just stops, if i remove the motor, it will go up no problem by it self, but once i put it back, it will stop going up.
is it necessary to put your window down, and if, why is that? i need to get to the door lock mechanism. It does not open the door lock from remote...
With window down there's easier access to door trim. Did you try to replace battery or re-program your remote key?

Hello :) Does it not react to all buttons or just its own? If it doesn't open with any means, I believe, there must be a problem with that electric motor.

My 2007 A6 had a screw in the bottom center of the door panel as well
My A6 also had it! I didn't mention it in the video, I didn't know. Later, when I discovered it, instead of re-filming it, I put it in the description under video and on the website. My bad..

Mine was 2005, it has done 409.000 miles, and could not be used as a taxi anymore because of licensing age limitations...

Since I replaced my switches the driver door does not unlock with central lock system anymore. It locks, but it does not unlock.
I put in the original switches again, but the problem persists.
Can anybody help?

@@DjTavy I believe you are same person that emailed via website... Unfortunately, I'm not the best guy to help you with this one. I had same set-up with that Audi in the video. I had button for phone, but it was also "not installed". I didn't try to do anything about it, also I don't have that car for over 4 years..

I figured that out. But can’t figure out how to get screw back under handle because it is so deep. I guess I need a better magnet type screwdriver to get it in. The little speaker cable broke on me though. But other than that video was so helpful
Just use longer screwdriver on that one... I know they say size doesn't matter.. 😉

Hi, I don't have power seats in mine, I don't have experience with power seats yet, sorry... I would try to find the fuse for it, then check connections and motor itself..

I think types can vary. It could be either cross-head or torx.
+WheelsAndMotors it is done ..... Not to difficult .... Took me an hour, but if I did it again .... 30mins.
The tricky bits were my clips which divided the wrong way so that when the doorcard from the door, I had to then go and separate the opposite clip part from the door. This process actually cost a clip at the bottom..... But as me wheel and motors says it's not a great loss.
Cars are actually easy, once you start getting closer to them :).. And have tools
+WheelsAndMotors yes.... I went and got a torq socket set ..and other bits and just got on with it . So far I have done the door ... The third brake light on my avant ....next ... Bumper off for fixing parking sensors ....
there actually is another bolt on thebottom under that ,,empty box,, I broke my one😏 anyway my door wont open from central lock for some reason every other door opens, but it does lock normal when precced central lock on keys. Any idea why this happen? I took that pannel off but could not get inside lock actuator. thanks in advence
+Silky Smooth Sorry about your bolt. :( I wonder why do you have extra bolt.. Where was it anyway? Are you and your car in UK or US? Regarding central locking - it looks to me that there is a problem with the locking switch. It should be easy to replace. From inside door panel unplug connector, release clips, and push it out. Sorry, I can't make a video, because I don't have that car anymore :( But you know how to get inside there from this video

I think I need to get much deeper then just panel as that white plastic actuator is lockated deep inside and me thinks needs stripping the whole door. I deffo wont be doing that. Its just annoing I need to use keys to open my door nothing major. It seems lots of other people are having the same issues. About the bolt not to worry the pannel its on its place, got little sound when driveing on bumps but again nothing major. maybe I will change whole door if I come across somewere. thanks for the video

On VW/Audi cars you can open and close all your windows by pressing and holding 'lock' or 'unlock' buttons on your remote key. This is how you can check if motor is working.
WheelsAndMotors It's not enabled by default on the US models. You have to either have the dealer enable it or use VAG-COM to turn it on.

Hi, if you still have "Owners Manual" with your car - page 61, if not - one of the buttons to deactivate interior monitor alarm (it's off when lit up), for example if you leave you pet inside it can move inside the car without activating alarm. The other button is tow-away protection. You can deactivate it if the car is on recovery truck or ferry etc.
