Can Ross Beat EVERY Class In Fire Emblem?

- I used FE Builder to make a gauntlet map to test gba fire emblem characters against every other class in the game. This installment features Ross as our champion, and we can compare his performance against Roy, Lilina, Hector, and all the future units we will test in the gauntlet.

What do you guys think of trainees? Do you like them? What new trainee classes would you like to see added? 🗡️
I love Trainees honestly. I've always quite liked growth units that you can mold into multiple roles or train into power houses. Can't wait to see Amelia run the gauntlet though.
I love Donnel. I wish he was in Smash 4.
I would love to see a bow trainee that has to choose between archer or nomad and then sniper, nomad trooper and something akin to a kinshin knight
@@Riigariano Not a trainee, but you might enjoy FE9 Astrid who starts as a level 1 Bow Knight with Paragon (innate 2x EXP). Sadly FE9 doesn't have branching promos so she will always go into Bow Paladin
@@aBlackMage Yeah she is actually one of my favorite units, paragons makes what would normally be a mediocre unit into an actually good one, especially after she gets axes.
Amelia would be interesting, as both her classes are quite different from each other. She'd probably get very varied results
The weapon triangle advantage as a cav would be huge, but it's hard to say imo.
For the trainees, you have to complete both Eirika and Ephraim routes to get the "Super" trainees

Next gauntlet video can we get a short recap of super journeyman Ross with the hatchet instead of the iron axe? The hatchet is the only axe that doesn’t weigh him down so it’s almost like a prf weapon for him
Plus he starts with it and is your only source of a hatchet iirc
while not a true prf weapon since anyone can equip it, I do think it would fit as a prf run for the super trainie class. so im all for this.

I don't make the rules! I think Amelia will be pretty great, since the only reason she's hard to use is because she doesn't join in chapter 3 like Ross does
It would have been interesting to see how the Hatchet performed here! 1-2 Range is strong, and the weapon is both light and accurate which is good for Journeyman Ross especially.
Hoping for my boy Gonzales. Always had a bias for him given he was the only playable brigand.
Maybe do a special run where you give him a Devil Axe. Could be entertaining.

I don't think he was. I think Marty from thracia 776 was a brigand and the first actual one. Unless you mean only from the gba games at least

Also as a suggestion with the third vulnerary you could have the nomad or brigand drop it, since that seems to be the point characters seem to start running out
But then those units might use it, maybe have the merchant start with your main unit and have them give the main unit one after they defeat the thief?
or just have an enemy drop a chest hey and put it in a chest
Honestly just adding it with the debugger at the start is the easiest option 😅 makes things simpler

You know, let's do a stomp. I want to see FE6 Melady with her Hard Mode bonuses. For comparison, at level 20 unpromoted, that gives her: 45.5 HP, 20 Strength, 20 Skill, 17.5 Speed, 10.5 Luck, 18.0 Defense, and 4.5 Resistance.
I hadn't actually considered hard mode bonuses in this, it's a very good point! I guess I'd run with and without HM bonuses and compare the difference
Funny thing about Ross is that he would probably wreck the wyvern. Most of the lances are at the end, and really those are his favorable matchups.
Also 11 con 11 speed would probably work well enough with a handaxe against the ranged enemies.

Alternatively rennac would be cool since he's technically promoted but he's a rogue so it'd be interesting to see if he can clear it, you could even give him one more vulnerary since he doesn't need a key! haha

Canas has to be on here one day, pretty dang tanky for a GBA mage, 7 defense base is nothing to sneeze at
Amelia is a must for the next run I think, but I'd also really like to see how Ephraim fares in the gauntlet.
You had the two PRF weapons for the lords, but it would also be neat to see how using "his" hatchet would make things a little easier for him, especially in the Super Trainee class. It's not a PRF, but it certainly does act like one for anyone looking to use Ross in a vanilla run.
y'know, I never thought about stealing ross's hatchet and using it on someone else cause I always use ross and he needs it. Maybe it'd be really useful for garcia since he has such bad accuracy, 3 might for 25% more accuracy than the hand axe is really not a bad deal, y'know what I'll do that next time I restart sacred stones and see how garcia looks

Eligood is a cryptid that rarely shows himself during FE7 runs, but when he does, that chapter 23 promotion be *hittin* 😩👌

I have an idea of how you can add in the 3rd vulnerary, you could have it as a 100% drop before a door so its practically forced into your invintory, im sure febuilder has an event somewhere where you can make floortiles give 100% drop rates.

Fun vid! Ross performed quite well, so I think a good comparison would be to use the dork-ass Dorcas in another video. We've seen some of the best axe fighters in fire emblem take on the gauntlet, but how would a normal guy with a sick wife fare?
I always forget about bulk, I was expecting super trainie to do good but didnt account the heaviness of an iron axe. this should hopefully not be a problem for the other 2 trainies.

Interestingly there is one Super Trainee that is arguably useful, and that's Amelia's Super Recruit, and that's because lances are the only weapon type that doesn't have an associated crit class, like Swordmaster and Berserker, so it's something she can only do. It's not great, but hey it's unique and kinda funny
I'd say it's only fair to pit child against child in the final boss room, so let Fae/Myrrh wreak havoc lol

Quick tip if you want to fully equip a unit, you could have the thief in the beginning drop the item of your choice instead of hassling the debug menu.

You should try to conserve where HP where possible by letting enemies initiate, like at 6:27. You would've saved 8 HP by enemy-phasing twice, then killing on player phase. Although you did say you were rushing/half-assing this one so I don't blame you :p

Lance and axe users really ought to have access to hand axe/javelins, since they are able to be used throughout standard gameplay. Swordies only have very limited access to 1-2 range so I think it's fair to not have them. This would help those characters have fairer matchups against mages.
Hello friend! If you’re still taking suggestions for Gauntlets, I think it’d be cool to see how far FE6 Marcus would make it. He’s so much worse than a paladin ought to be that it’d make for good entertainment if he ended up doing better than expected

Could you get around the 4 inventory slots problem by having the thief drop the door key? I think FEbuilder lets you modify enemy ai so the thief doesn't try to use it.

I was about to say ‘Doesn’t the Super Journeyman get a 15+ crit bonus' but then I remembered… this is the unevolved super Journeyman. Who is… serviceable, he can do his job just as well as the other two classes, but nothing special.

If you really want to know wich class perform better, won't you need to give at least a hand axe to be able to at least retaliate on the distant units, because it is on of the advantages of axes vs swords

I would reconsider doing the runs at least twice. In the fighter run the 2 misses on the archer really screwed that run. I know that would mean Double the time but I strongly believe that in that run ross would have beaten the shaman
