i would kill for a FE7 ROM to be unchanged except Batta kills Lyn, then develops a plot that works for Batta to fight on behalf of Lyn and improve his growths.

there's probably a trigger after each action that checks if the expected blue team has lyn. Because when you win, you take another unit into the next mission, lyn isn't there, and the lyn copy you add probably isn't recognised because it's not the main hero unit.

Genuinely I want a proper game of this. Where all your enemies are special named "main characters" and you as the player play as generic mooks. Always hated fire emblem specifically because "eVeRyOne iS spEciAL", so it would be so nice to destroy the special named characters with generic soldiers.

I was giggling through the whole video, although it sounded super frustrating for you the constant completely unpredictable behaviour all the way through was absolutely top notch entertainment. As a software developer myself i felt that defeated "I dont understaaand!" in my soul.

This is quite entertaining for what a mess it is

HIGHLIGHTS Lyn dies? Game over. Lyn lives? Game over. Move your unit? Game over. The tip of Lyn's nose itches? Believe it or not, game over. After killing Lyn, Batta felt bad and took up her journey. Lyn and her army sneak up on the bandits by standing on top of each other wearing a single trenchcoat. A terrified villager pretends the bandits are there to help. The bandit, remembering Batta's change of heart, decides not to burn the town down. Inspired by the merciful bandits, an elite mercenary with 30 Skill joins them. Natalie: "You're bodyblocking all doors to protect me, right?" Lyn: "..." Natalie: "You're bodyblocking all doors to protect me, right??" Shaman garbs an Energy Ring, the world ends, then the Shaman gets duplicated. Lyn, repeatedly coming back from the dead (the red clothing is because it's stained with her own blood from countless deaths), terrifies the enemy army. They yield after one turn every time. Their boss, desperate, runs across the battlefield in full plate armor and defeats Lyn in one shot. Only for Lyn to revive right before his eyes. It's all over. It's all Lyn. Always has been. Lord Hausen: "Lundgren told me that my daughter had died" Lyn: "Well, yes, but actually no"

I believe every action was causing a game over because the Game Over Flag (global flag #65) was active. It activates during the death quote of the main lord. So even though you cleared the chapter before the game over screen hit, the flag was still active, and it checked for it at the end of any action. You can manually deactivate the flag using the debugger event screen, or you can go in and delete the flag from Lyn's death quote to stop that from happening. Also, you could set the death quotes of all the bosses to have the game over flag if you want so if the boss dies it's a game over, and you don't end up in an infinite loop like the prologue lol
