Minute 13:01....my favorite image. SO enjoy your tutorials. I share your favorite colors and love of abstract landscape techniques. Keep them coming! Mark my words that this will be noted as a time in history of a global art explosion. Thank you!

Hi Shari! I'm new to encaustic and I am loving your videos! One thing you do on many of your pieces is the 'doodling' with india ink. It looks easy, but when I do it, it looks like an ugly scratchy mark. Do you have any suggestions how to make them cool, like you do? Thanks! :)

Thanx for sharing! Could you use oil pastels instead of oil sticks? Thanx

Can you add pastels to cold wax?

Does waxing help prevent UV fading as well? I use copic markers in some of my works and am concerned about that. Is this type of wax different that Gamblin cold wax? Thanks for the info!

Hi Mandala Yard ! Years ago I used alcohol inks with encaustic and noticed that there were certain colors that severely faded over time so I would say no it does not stop fading if it is going to occur in certain mediums . Encaustic wax is purified beeswax and damar resin. Gamblin cold wax medium is natural beeswax, Gamsol (A Gamblin solvent) , and alkyd resin. Dorland's another popular brand of cold wax also has microcrystalline wax and damar resin in it. I also show how you can create your own cold wax mixture in Cold Wax Journal Journey Workshop . I hope this info helps, have fun ! :)
