The 996 turbo at one point dropped down to like $30k. So mad at myself for missing my chance to get one then.
Hey don’t worry, car prices will drop again. This is the worst spike i’ve seen in a while but it’ll definitely drop to more affordable prices, just wait it out and don’t commit to a car until you truly find the right one. Good luck to you bro I hope you can find that 996 one day even if it’s not exactly around 30k!
@@Snookered4568 stagflation.
Same 😔
I’m in the same boat
While I agree about prices being high I honestly think the 996 turbo was criminally undervalued. So even if prices go down I honestly think they’re due for steady appreciation based on older models historically. Either way I hope they drop a little because I too missed the 30k boat:(
Spot on list - as the owner of a Viper and an SL55 AMG, I can tell you they are big bang for the buck. Finding a Viper for under 50k is becoming difficult, but finding an SL55 for under 30k is totally possible (barring low mileage examples). The Viper, however, will want to kill you. The SL55 will keep you safe & comfortable - with balls. Elise: track car. Maserati: cheap until you need repairs or maintanance. C5 Vette: best performance for the dollar but, ho hum, yawn. Nicely done and accurate video!
Thanks for the feedback Kenneth!
You say the Maserati is cheap until it needs repairs and maintenance as if a dodge product or a Mercedes are reliable.

Nice list. I envy how good the prices are in the US. Just checked the largest retailer in Germany and the prices are a bit higher:

C5 - 15000 EUR (15900 USD) - best price
911 996 Turbo - 52000 EUR (55000 USD) - worst price
Elise - 26000 EUR (27500 USD)
V8 Vantage - 40000 EUR (42300 USD)
Ghibli - 24000 EUR (25400 USD)
Karma - 24000 EUR (25400 USD)
SL 55 AMG - 24000 EUR (25400 USD)
Most of those have just a few listing then going quite higher. The C5 has the most listings with less than 2000 EUR difference. The Turbo has the least.
Anyone else laugh when he said the Elise would “dominate” anyone on the track then showed a quick clip of it with a 370z and a Toyota 86 like we wouldn’t notice 😂

Love your channel. It's both educational and un-annoyingly entertaining. Watching reviews about cars that I can actually afford and maintain is great.
I’d definitely love to own an Elise seems like it’d be a blast to daily as well. The elise carry the boosted 2zz-ge correct? Yamaha & toyota did a great job on it
ur talking about a lotus elise sc those are quite expensive and the exige is the better pick for performance as it's a street legal track car. They showed a lot of exiges not elises but they are great cars regardless.
@@shadowcoregaming7578 what about the evorra?
@@crazysilly2914 I actually got to ride in the Evora gt 400 a few months ago and the interior quality was shockingly great. The car was very fast and nimble. It seemed like a very daily drivable car that had creature comforts, wasn't too loud, and had an amazing 6spd manual transmission. I'm the kind of guy who loves a hardcore car so I'd go for an exige and daily it but the Evora is sort of the best of both worlds. The owner was power sliding the car everywhere and it never once acted in an unpredictable way. It really depends on what you want out of a lotus car. A daily driver that's comfortable and has creature comforts? A very tight lightweight go kart with good power and amazing handling? Or a track ready barely street legal car that can slaughter the competition given the right driver.

The SL 55 is a fun car to own, but I had so many issues with mine... Like the transmission just got stuck in park and the shifter would not move. Some computer chip also went out and made it shut off in the middle of driving. The air suspension pump went out. And an oxygen sensor for the carbon emissions was faulty as well... just all sorts of random headaches within less than 2 years. Was very happy to sell it cuz it was just bleeding money to keep fixing it. Also it was only 4 years old at the time I bought it with only 20k miles on it.
Thanks for the perspective on ownership experience. I know with any luxury car its a real crap shoot in terms of reliability and ownership. Many people say its one the "good ones" but I'm sure you're not alone in your experience.
those early 2000 benz had like a hole you could put a ink pen to release the shifter when stuck in park, or replace the module sensor that tells the shifter it's safe because your foot is on the break. We just kept a pen in the cup holder. Doubled as theft protection :)

Ay Squid, when shopping for an e60 M5, find one in SMG. Which sucks. But, it's the best experience. The manual was pulled from the E39 and the gearing is garbage for the V10 in my opinion.
