I am surprised that the Philippines wasn't mentioned, I have retired here, with just my state pension and a small works pension about £1200 per month, which are paid into my Philippine bank. I live on the island of Mindanao in the mountains and have no worries or regrets.living the simple life.

I also retired to the Philippines, in 1983, after completing 20 years of military service. It was/ is the smartest move I’ve made in my life! At the age of 79 now, I collect SS. Also my military pension and 100% military disability pay. My life is very pleasing. I have a loving caring Filipina wife. We adopted a 6-week-old Filipino baby boy, who is now 34 years old. I am loved and cared for. If my health continues to hold up, I am sure to pass 100 years in my life, unless my military disabilities take a turn for the worst. But for now, my health is under control. 😎

Philippines should be number one on the list my friend and her husband moved there five years ago only receiving $900 dollars a month they're about to have a house built 2 bedroom and two bath. Pretty much everybody speak English nice beaches people are welcoming and friendly. My advice is to do more research

My wife Costa Rican,(local) and I live on $5,000 per mo. and it’s almost paycheck to paycheck. It is the 2nd most expensive country in all of Latin America. Costa Rica has a cost of living 47% higher than Mexico. I pay $500 per month for insurance and food, electricity, gas, cars , clothing,and supermarkets are all more expensive than in the U.S. Crime has gone way up do to it becoming a Narco nation where the drug trade is now the largest employer. In 2023 the murder rate went to 17.4 per 100,000 and 2024 is worse.
It’s nice to visit and relax in the tourist areas and a handful of wealthy expat area on the beaches are great to live but if retirement,and a lower cost of living is your goal look keep looking.

SE Asia is where it’s at! Vietnam is incredibly cheap. I can stay there 3 months. Then go over to Thailand for a few months, then Laos. I’m basically amount the 1% in these countries
When you go to Thailand, you will fall in love with Thailand, and you won't go back to Vietnam.
Whilst in Thailand, don't get seriously ill because medical insurance only covers you in the country of purchase unless holiday insurance.

Im retired in the Philippines where it's pretty affordable here and staying is really easy. 2 to 6 month tourist visas for up to 3 years or SRRV according to age with a deposit or special military visa with a small deposit. I have a 13A marriage visa to a Filipino citizen which cost me 6 dollars a year for a permanent resident. You can find rents from 150 to 650 dollars for nice studios to one bedrooms condos. My cost are 50% lower here than in the states comparing apples to apples. The medical and dental are very cheap too. Travel is still very affordable from Island to Island with over 7000 to chose from. English is very well spoken and used here on their traffic signs, courts, hospitals, malls and restaurant menus. We have 4 people in our household and my budget runs about $1800 a month with A/C, a house helper, SUV and a little travel.
Philippines is one of the cheapest country if you want to retire it will cost you around US1,200 to US 1,500.00 if even US1,000.00 if you are budget concious. Mr Faronray is right with a budget of US150 to US500 you could rent a condominium or a small house. With a budget of US1,200.00 you could have a small house, helper, food and medical for a month. Even medical expenses is quite cheap converting US1.00 to php55.00 you could survive. Nice places to retire are in Tagaytay city with cool climate , if you want beaches you could go to Batangas which is quite near Tagaytay, you could choose Baguio if you want cooler climate and mountainous area, Cebu, Bohol with its famous beaches, Siargao if you want surfing. There are lots of places to choose from. Most Filipinos speak English so you wont get lost. You could seek advice advice from other Americans who retired here.Some prefer cooler climates like the ones I’ve mentionedand others prefer the beach whichever they want.
I've heard the 6 months tourists visa went away last year so immigration could get more money. Even the 2 months tourists visas aren't easy anymore

I'm close to the international airport, hospitals, travel and entertainment. So retiring in Cebu City was the best thing for us. I'm now 67 and have everything setup.

Do more research! Most of the countries you mentioned are not cheap at all.
It's a tough decision to leave your family and friends, and country; because it is now too expensive to live in the U.S. for most of us. My favs would be Ecuador, Portugal, Spain, Costa Rica, Georgia, Hungary, Poland (and Switzerland if you can afford it).

Vietnam but avoid 2 big ciities as costs double or quadruple. It is a quiet life. I live in Nha Trang and Visa is tricky. I have 5 yr visa but need partner and language is tough. ( maybe toughest in world). But my cost is rock bottom which I unfortunately need.

Thailand 🇹🇭 is the best. Low cost of living. Good low cost medical care. Beautiful beaches. Top tourist destinations Krabi, Phuket, HuaHin, ChiangMai, Bangkok. Good infrastructure and transportation. Fee, no visa for 60 days then Retirement visa. Good low cost housing. Very safe country, it's Travel hub for Asia.

Old Mexico. From my SS of 500 I can save 100. Perfect climate. Great produce. Cheap rent. Quality med and dental...cheap. Friendly. Spanish is easy. Misleading Title of No Money? Are $2000 to $3500 per month no money??!! Most retired ppl, single or couple don't have this monthly income in any country you mentioned, unless they have the govt and private pensions...which not many have.

Asia is a continent where weather temperature are going through the roof..everywhere. Extreme temperature are now common in India, Pakistan (50 celsius), Thailande, Vietnam, South China and so on Philippines also...better looking at place such as Bulgaria, Montenegro, Moldova, Ukraine before was nice also.

These calculations are in the high, in these countries with theses calculation you can live the best life, but for 20% of these calculation you can live a median high life in these countries, for example to retire very comfortable in Panama City Panama you can live with $1500 per month, and the retiree visa income is granted with only $1000.00 monthly income

Thailand O visa requires EITHER $22,000 deposit permanently (can temporarily have as low as about $11,000) in a Thai bank savings account OR twelve monthly foreign transfers no less than $1,800 (65k baht) per year. If your embassy can provide you with a certification that your monthly foreign income is at least $1,800, twelve monthly foreign transfers are not required. US embassy will not provide such certification.

I would rather go to many small cities in Brazil or Mexico for retirement. The south of Chile is also amazing and beautiful. Many cities in Argentina are also a great alternative and specially cheap.

These countries are demanding financially and expensive compared to some others ! (?) The easiest for low income potential expats has to be the Philippines and Cambodia. Language is easy for English speakers - not needing Spanish or some other language ?!? I heard of a doctor that retired in Costa Rico but what he didn't count on that emergency ambulance to get you to the hospital on time.
