My name is Jess! I had a daughter (Lilia) at age 18 w/ my high school sweetheart. We mutually split up & co-parent to this day. I met someone new, got married, had twin boys (Kyson & Kaden) and another son (Landen). He cheated, we split ways, & he’s not around much. After juggling life as a single mom of 4 for some time, I met Chris, he had 2 sons: Caden and Tommy, who eventually became my step sons. After Chris and I got married, we had our 7th child together, Addelyn. Boxing Day is called Boxing Day, because in the last century servants were only allowed one day off. This was the 26th of December. The servants went home to their family for the day, and they were given a box of foods and gifts to take to their families to unbox, and was originally called unboxing day.
I loved this soo much! I remember wrapping gifts with my Grandma as a child, it was one of my favorite traditions (even though I picked up my moms gift wrapping techniques.. I swear sometimes her gifts looked like they came from a pro). I’m definitely not as good as I used to be but when my daughter was younger it was a tradition i passed on to her & she LOVES.. I used to let her wrap her own gifts even, as long as it was just like clothes in a box (something she didn’t know what the gift was), she still comes home from college ready to wrap all the gifts 😉♥️💚 & shes a lot fancier about it these days than I am 😏

Jess you’re such an amazing mama! It melts my heart to see how amazingly blended you all are! I wish all step parents could be the way you guys are! Lilia is a lucky girl! My oldest daughter just turned 18 on Xmas day and her father JUST started being a part of her life again about a month or two ago! I feel so hurt for her because she could’ve had so much more love and family in her life but it is what it is. She lost my mom and her step dads mom in 2014 and 2015…so it makes it that much more heartbreaking because her biological fathers mother could’ve been there more but it was like as soon as he had his other two children with his wife they all forgot about my daughter. She didn’t lack love and that’s what was important. She’s growing into such a beautiful smart amazing young woman so I can’t say that I’d change anything I just wish she could’ve had her other family around her more,

I love how you had the kids choose each other's gifts to wrap. Maybe next Christmas I'll do that with my boys and they can wrap each other's. I just like them to both be surprised on both only their gifts but each other's as well.

Having the kids wrap each others gifts is genius. It's teaching them that everyone needs to contribute to make Christmas happen, especially the boys, their future girlfriends/wives will thank you.. Unfotunatelty a lot of grown men and husbands don't feel the need to contribute much. Thank you for raising better boys!
My mum used to do that but let us wrap our siblings presents for their birthdays instead. I can never forget those moments.
You should also consider that the boys may have future boyfriends/husbands. Just to not reinforce traditional norms.

i have that betty crocker cook book too! much smaller but it was a gift from my grandmother! she used to make dozens beyond dozens of cookies to ship to us and the other grandkids!

It’s great to have kids help wrap lol my mom used to put our gifts in a bigger box and we would help wrap them without knowing. I’m sure I peeked lol she only had my sister and I but I loved to help. My husband and I did the same thing with wrapping paper!

You should have storage bins for each of their gifts. That way as you get stuff in, you just put them in their storage bin and it will help keep things organized and also still hidden.
Maybe the kids would enjoy going to conventions. There’s fanime in San Jose in may and anime expo in LA in July. I don’t know if addie would like it but the big kids hopefully would. There’s so many cosplayers and things to do!

We celebrate Boxing Day in Canada! Malls and stuff are open and that’s when everything goes on sale/clearance! It’s kinda like our Black Friday! We have Black Friday but it’s not as big here Boxing Day is bigger and it’s a holiday so either get paid for not working or paid more for working
Our tradition is cartoons (jam tarts with cake mix on top) and my sisters ginger cake (home made) we do veg prep on Xmas eve day xx then decorate cakes aswell xx
I don't online shop. But if I were to surprisingly get at least 2 wrapped Amazon boxes on Christmas, then I'd excitedly yell "aah" for getting the round condiment squeeze bottles by either Houseables or Pinnacle Mercantile. I could separately plenish my bottles with mustard, ketchup, honey barbecue sauce, pancake syrup, caramel sauce and chocolate syrup. I could play with my empty bottles. I like the Houseables bottles with the measuring black labels.

My mom has that exact same cookbook and that's the recipe we always use for our Christmas cookies too.
For dinner, I ate turkey wings, ribs, mac-&-cheese, stuffing, steamed cabbage, cranberry sauce and rolls and I drank tea. I only squeezed honey barbecue sauce on my ribs. For a dessert, I ate a chocolate pie wedge.
That cookbook. My mother in law had the same one. I accidentally threw it away and she was asking for the stuffing recipe in it. She swears its the bestest ever.

Yes it's going to be a very busy Christmas this year my daughter has little ones herself she has a 6-year-old son his birthday is in April she has a daughter that's 4 years old her daughter is 2 years old and their birthday is the same date and the same month January and she just gave birth to her third daughter Zora December 15th little mama weighed 7 lb 4 oz and 19 inches long. But she had to stay in the hospital the mother my daughter or four days because her pressure was up so but she is fine made it home for the holidays so we did have a beautiful Christmas. That's why I'm just catching up on I feel your videos but I love your family so much you always put a big smile on my face and I will always support you. My hometown is Philadelphia Pennsylvania but we live down here 26 years in South Carolina and I believe we got some good old cool Philly weather down here buys me and my hometown. I got the same cook book for my wedding gift back in 1968 I always use that sugar cookie recipe and yes they are the best
Ive used that sugar recipe since i was little as well. Only bummer is you have to refrigerate for a long time. I usually do overnight.

Doesn’t that mean you do get custody of Lilia on Christmas Day if she comes back in the morning? 😅 or is Christmas Eve the bigger day you celebrate and want Lilia there for?
