No one else, no matter how talented they are, could have played Alice like Emma did. The role was made for her. RIP, Alice/Emma. Thanks for the laughs and the memories.

Could see how genuinely saddened Dawn French was during this when she was talking about Alice ( Emma Chambers )

  • @mludsladiesgentlemen1774

Such a sad loss - a talented actress and comedian. The cast with two or three left must be heartbroken to lose such colleagues.
Liz Smith, Roger Lloyd-Pack, John Bluthal, Trevor Peacock, Gary Waldhorn and Emma Chambers may you all rest in peace as you all brought light and humour into many peoples lives.
    Keep going Dawn and James.

Thank you so much Dawn/Geraldine for this. My mum was found passed away in her hometown by the police and her neighbours last Thursday - but I think she may have actually gone on Monday or Tuesday night. She was 64, and it was completely unexpected.
I was just randomly watching an old episode of “Name That Tune” and this popped up as a recommendation. It’s really touched my heart. God Bless. Xx

      My most sincere condolences.
I cannot tell you how many I lost over the past four years, starting with my father, my sister eighteen months ago, a woman and mother I have known since fourth grade.
As a child, we hold simplistic views of death. As we age, it changes. I find it difficult, starting as a teenager, even worse as I am 57, and have known too many people who are now deceased.
The grief that Dawn/Geraldine feels is real, and raw, and, unfortunately, time never seems to heal. It comes and goes like waves in the ocean.

"Grief never ends, but it changes.
It is a passage, not a place to stay.
Grief is not a sign of weakness or a lack of faith...it is the price of love."
Someone shared this with me when I lost my Mom and it helped. Hoping it helps you as well. 🙏
