New tires are notoriously slick. Proud of you for not editing out the minor mishap.
It wasn't the tires, it was the grabbing the front brake with his handlebar turned at slow speed in dusty conditions. It can happen to even the most experienced rider and make ya feel like a noob because that's generally when you pull stuff like that, but it still happens to even the most experienced riders sometimes we just get a bit cocky or relaxed. Slow speed stuff is legit some of the harder stuff to do on a bike because it requires more control over the place you want the bike to be, whereas a fast wheelie isn't easier, it just uses balance differently. Like when you're going slow you don't have the forward momentum to help you balance so you gotta be more vigilant about what the bike is doing and how you are telling it to do that. Faster speeds are again not easier, i also sound like a stoned idiot but I kinda have a point so oh well.
Once you are experienced, calm, and confident, holding speed almost always helps a bike handle better… up to a point.
The guy is way too cavalier with his riding in general.

No they aren't, what stoner science book did you read that in? Tires are literally made from rubber and the newer that rubber, the more grip you have. Race car drivers wouldn't need new tires mid race if that wasn't the case.
They are off-road tires, so they're going to have poor traction on-road, and even worse on a sidewalk. He almost 100% had a sympathetic action because he was holding his phone in one hand. Basically, he was holding his phone tightly in order to not drop it and his other hand mirrored that grip. This happens all the time, not doing it is like trying to rub you head and pat your belly, it requires a fair amount of concentration and doing that while also paying attention to everything else he was doing is a big ask of the human brain.

bars turned, front brake applied, went down. Not sure if the same applies to the sur-ron but in the moto world you dont really want to use front brake with the bars turned and with that having a 4 piston hydraulic brake im sure it grabs pretty good! Glad you're ok man keep the good content coming!

My stock Surron with 17” Supermotos (48T) ran 13.46 @ 42mph via Dragy. But that is riding the "limiter" at ~42mph for a few seconds due to the stock controller & gearing. My best 0-30mph time is 4.05 sec. Acceleration really starts to drop off after 35 mph. You should invest in a Dragy for more accurate performance metrics. They also have a leaderboard so you can compare/compete with other Surrons! I’m looking forward to seeing your numbers once you get the 72V KO setup dialed in!!

@@1fiddysquiddy386 Are you running the 42T or 48T sprocket? At ~42-43mph (actual), my display indicates 48-49mph. The display isn’t accurate if you verify it with a GPS app. The display calculates your MPH based on the motor RPM with the stock gearing & wheel/tire size. It’s not measuring your actual wheel speed. When you swap to smaller diameter 17” wheels you lower the actual top speed. The speedometer will read higher since it’s no longer accurately calibrated for the smaller wheels.
Curious about the accuracy of the app as well. Comparing Sur Ronster's 72V setup vs stock Surron times:
Stock was 12.47 @ 43mph.
72V was 10.50 @ 56mph.
The fastest 1/8-mile Surron on Dragy (verified) is 9.64 @ 67mph (72V setup with a BAC8000 & stock motor).
Does anyone know what app he’s using? I’d like to compare it to my Dragy runs.
@@nickevolv3d448 The fastest 1/4-mile Surron on Dragy is a 60V KO setup. He ran 15.90 @ 75.80mph in the 1/4 and 9.79 @ 68.86mph. I'm curious was a 72V battery could do with the KO motor/controller setup.

I've had my Sur Ron for almost 2 years now. Almost all parts are aftermarket except my battery since I can't afford to drop $2000+ right now. So getting a larger stock battery is a huge plus in my opinion.

the interesting thing would be to see if the battery with upgraded cells also has more power/amps while still being 60V you could just upgrade the controller and save the big cost of upgrading the battery. 72V has the advantage of in reading top speed and peak power without increasing amps or changing the gearing, but if you're just looking for torque and you are good with the top speed, controller upgrade is quite straightforward
The battery has same bms changes in controller is what make it faster
@@je7647 if battery itself has more output but it's limited by the bms which is the same, it could be useful to disable the BMS and tune then battery amps on the controller

Beautiful bike. I still think the 72v battery with Molicel P42A cells and a new controller is a must have for me personally, because I'm a big guy at 6'3" and 275lbs. I'd probably have to upgrade the suspension too so it at least is set up for my weight. Other than that though, I definitely think the Suron is still king of the hill. I'd love to see a REAL electric motor upgrade and maybe a 96v battery/controller combo. I don't know if the BAC 4000 will handle a 96v battery or not. Maybe a BAC 8000 would handle that kind of Voltage. I guess I should do some research on that before I consider buying one. Anyway, great job Ronster. You always make these first ride videos informative and they always look like a lot of fun.
I weigh 175 at 5'9. So if I upgraded to what you are suggesting, I'm wounding what kind of power that would make me feel in my end?
@@vicluv1165 With a 72v battery and a BAC 4000 controller with a proper tune, I believe you can run 14 Kilowatts of power to the stock electric motor on a newer Surron. Horsepower wise, I think it almost doubles the power from stock configuration.

the important question to ask is if its still the same price with the 38ah battery or a an upgrade? all surrons will come stock with the 38ah? im looking to get one, should i wait? and as its not a tested battery should i buy the 32 ah battery pack as it has been reliable for over 5 years?
They've changed the batteries over the years just like the tunes as Surronster mentioned, my 2022 LBX has a 34Ah battery
@@Blackwolfx420 yoo, what a coincidence i have the same initials MG. going back to the subject in matter, i can tell as your bike is 2022 (almost 2023 model) that they upgraded to a 34ah batter and now for the 2023 the went even higher with the 38 ah, but it seems not al surron dealers are getting the same stock. The thing is that your 34ah battery isnt even a year and i doubt you made 5k miles or even 2/3k miles on it so its up to time and wear that will determine if your 34ah or the even newer 38ah battery is as good and safe as the old one. Im from argentina and we usally have to wait a little longer for new stuff to arribe, what would you do in my position? wait cluelessly if a new batch of 2023 surron arrive or just go with good ol ' n reliable 32 ah surron ?

I just got mine bro. Looks exactly the same other then the stickers on the battery. Here’s my question. It only goes 29mph. So… do I definitely cut the green loop wire to add speed ? What is the green wire even installed for to begin with? Thanks guys.

The green wire is a limiter to how fast it can go so if you cut it it goes faster

You don't have to cut the wire with the 2023🙈
Squeeze the right brake 5 times and hold the brake at 6. Your display will show CO and the restriction is gone.
When you turn it off, it's restricted again.

@@chickenmostwanted When the brake is applied, the motor cuts out. This is done through a sensor connected via the wire he just cut. If you cut the sensor wire you can still brake, but the motor will not cut out. This is important for trick riding. For example on wheelies where you end up braking and accelerating quickly. 5:16 notice how he controls the throttle on the right, and the rear brake on the left.
@@TheAnimeist you can disable the braking through a code as well. no need to cut the green....

Pretty cool! Im buying a Lectric XP because electric bicycles are still marketed cheaper and have almost the same functionality as this small bikes, but you also get the ability to pedal your way out of the danger zone with gears should you kill the battery. Thats my biggest gripe at these bike sizes, is that they on the border of have pedals why not? and not having pedals and relying just on that motor.. Anyways they're all cool AF vehicles and everyone should do them, pick what u want but the new Lectric XP 3.0 just came out and Long Range goin for 1199 for Black Friday, imma cop one.

Hi man! I have a ebike but it's not Surron. It has 60v 20ah. I wonder if I can do more range if I change it to 35ah? Since Surron has 38ah, what could be your usual range? I have lead acid btw and 40km/h max can do like 40-45 or maybe even 50km max distance. Thank you.
