Taryl,Thank you for all of your videos. They are fun to watch. You inspired me at 52 years of age now to offer small engine repairs as a way of earning money to eat. I constantly refer to your videos when I get on uncertain territory.. Thank you for your time invested in your videos. They are funny and you are a very clever man... May good be with you. Thank you

I wanted to thank you. I have an 04 craftsman riding mower with a cv15. I was stumped on so many things and it's used for our church. I didn't have the money for parts but your videos helped me fix the carb with what I had on hand. Hopefully I will figure the belts out soon. Got the off but having trouble finding the size. I measured the v belt and it's about 42 by 1.5, however when I used the parts methods you taught in one if your videos. It said 1.5 by 88. So still confused but now I know how to rebuild the carb and look up parts. Thanks again.

Nice video Taryl, I like the spring pulling tool. I am going to have to make one of those. I have a special video request. I want to learn how to safely increase the RPM on a kohler horizontal that is on an Exmark or a Toro G3 (I have a 27HP and would like to increase RPM slightly, so that I can run my Gator blades at near full speed when cutting without missing any grass. I have to go at half speed to cut everything.

I've watched almost all your videos now, a wealth of knowledge and entertainment in them all. Thank you so much for sharing your selection of suggested tools. You are so right, the most valuable tool is in your head. Brilliant application of self made custom tools to take care of various issues.
I was LMAO at Slippers toolbox, his "hammer", butter knife, "shop towels" and gotta have the extra packs of ketchup.
Would love to see you guys make a video on the replacement of hydrostatic transmission fluid in various riding mowers (such as higher price point tractors which call for regular fluid & filter replacement and entry level ones such as Craftsman LT1000 that say that no fluid change is ever necessary (b.s. on their claim because I had one that lost ability to go up hills but then drained and replaced fluid and it worked perfect afterwards. That trans had no provision for a drain plug. I presume the manufacturers of the entry level lawn tractors figure by the time it needs a fluid change you will have replaced the mower with a newer one and junked the old one = forced obsolescence.)
By the way, Thanks for dinner! :-)

Concerning stiff spring removal and re-connection: I broke down and bought a T-handle spring tool off of Ebay. It cost me around $7. Best money I have spent in a long time. Made a difficult job easy and fast. They are advertised as 'brake spring tools' or 'exhaust spring tools', but they both are awesome for the job.

I had a c ring like that on my starter too. I have one of those Kohler engines but the ring is the same thing really. They are a pain in the you know what if you don't have that tool to get them off and I am sure many people ended up in the emergence room trying to get them off without the tool only to find that the darned thing didn't even budge!! I even stopped by a local transmission shop where I had one of my cars repaired once and they didn't know how to get it off. In all fairness I was not expecting them to know how that comes off because they work on different things. They have a waste oil burner and I take my old oil to them once in a while. That was my excuse to take the starter along for the trip. All they ask is that you don't mix anything in the oil such as antifreeze or brake fluid. Transmission fluids and other oils are OK, just no antifreeze or anything like that. I just take the antifreeze to the auto parts store and they can dispose of it free.

I was smoking my brain gears trying to come up with a way to pre stretch it with a turnbuckle and a couple heavy duty hose clamps then just hold it in place as I shorten the turnbuckle back up. Probably just try your way.
